I failed again.
I was currently inside My Lady's room. However, instead of seeing her in bed as usual, she was nowhere to be found. The room was still dark, the curtains still drawn, but she had been replaced by pillows she had covered with a blanket.
I let out a long sigh. "Did she go to the dining room ahead of me?"
It seemed so.
"And I was ready to serve her," I lamented.
...But, tomorrow, I'll try to wake up even earlier.
After I made that resolution in my heart, I began to take out the white sheets I had just brought from the storage room I tried to feel around beneath the sheets, the last place I had seen the princess's diary, but it was no longer there. It seemed she had moved it somewhere safer.
