Chapter 53 - Jiangning University's Liu Si-yu “Boss

"Are these medicinal herbs in stock? If so, I'd like ten portions of each."

Jiangning walked over to the medicinal herb counter and asked the old herbalist behind it.

The old herbalist looked at the prescription and then raised his head, stunned.

"You, you, are you the 'Tap Dance King'?"

The old herbalist stammered, asking.

Jiangning frowned, confused. "Boss, what do you mean by 'Tap Dance King'?"

Jiangning didn't know that the tap dance he led the people of the community in last night had been secretly filmed and was now trending online.

He'd been given various titles online, such as 'Tap Dance King,' 'Tap Dance God Leg,' and 'Young Dance God.'

However, the title "Tap Dance King" was still the most frequently used.

"Hey kid, don't you know? Didn't you lead a group last night in tap dancing?"

The old doctor asked excitedly.

He was deeply captivated by Jiangning's tap dancing steps and had watched them repeatedly dozens of times last night, even practicing them in his own room.

He could be considered a loyal fan of Jiangning's.

Jiangning was still puzzled: "Well, I did lead the kids and the people from the area in tap dancing last night. What's up, boss?"

"Kid, the tap dancing you did last night was recorded and uploaded online, and you're already famous.

Come on, kid, will you sign an autograph for the old man? I'm your loyal fan."

The old doctor quickly grabbed paper and a pen from the table, looking at Jiangning expectantly.

"Boss, I don't know. I didn't look at my phone last night. As for an autograph, I'm not a popular celebrity or a famous internet star, so there's no need for that," Jiangning said, somewhat self-deprecatingly.

"No, no, young man, I watched your video dozens of times last night, and your tap dancing was inspiring. I felt like I'd become decades younger. Please, help an old man out and sign something for me." The old doctor insisted.

It was as if he wouldn't give the medicine unless he got an autograph.

Seeing how enthusiastic the old doctor was, Jiangning felt helpless.

"Alright then. I can sign it. But I'm not famous, so don't laugh at me later, boss."

"No, no, young man, just fulfill this old man's wish. I was truly captivated by your tap dancing steps.

This is the first time I've been interested in something because of watching a dance, and it's all thanks to your steps."

The old doctor waved his hand, saying this.

Jiangning smiled and picked up a pen, signing his name on the paper.

When the old doctor looked at Jiangning's calligraphy, he was shocked again.

"Young man, young man, your writing is so good?"

"It's alright." Jiangning smiled.

He naturally knew that his calligraphy had now reached the Grandmaster level.

While perhaps a little less renowned than the top calligraphers in the country, it wasn't an overstatement to call himself a Calligrapher.

Now, there were no more than ten people whose calligraphy surpassed his in Jiangning.

"Jiangning, Master Jiang, thank you, thank you so much. I'll go prepare the medicine for you right away."

The old doctor chuckled, then bustled off to prepare the medicine.

Watching the old doctor, who was as happy as a child, Jiangning smiled and shook his head.

He wasn't a celebrity, and the old doctor was really quite amusing.

Then he looked at the set of Silver Needles on sale in the glass display case.

Having learned ancient medical techniques, he naturally learned how to administer needles, and he often needed them.

Originally, I just wanted to get some medicine for Mengmeng.

I wanted to prevent Mengmeng from getting sick. If she did, I could have Chinese herbal medicine at home to quickly brew for her to drink. Or, I could use the Chinese herbal medicine to give her a bath, helping her condition improve quickly.

However, after seeing the Silver Needles, I realized I could use the needle techniques to treat illnesses.

But it's best to use them on family members or very close friends. Otherwise, without a medical license, it would bring a lot of trouble.

Fifteen minutes later, the old traditional Chinese medicine practitioner had packed all of the Chinese herbal medicine.

Jiangning: "Boss, do you sell these Silver Needles?"

"Yes, I do. What's wrong, kid? Do you understand traditional Chinese medicine?" The old traditional Chinese medicine practitioner asked in surprise.

"Well, a little bit." Jiangning smiled and nodded.

"Alright, I'm in a good mood today, so I'll give you a good, complete set." The old doctor said, then took out a precious sandalwood box from the bottom drawer.

Inside were a full 200 Silver Needles, long and short.

Normally, 12 needles are used for acupuncture. Some urgent and difficult cases might require 49 needles.

As for using 200 Silver Needles, few traditional Chinese medicine practitioners would do that, and very few patients would need it.

If a patient needed 200 Silver Needles, they'd basically have one foot in the grave.

Seeing such precious Silver Needles, Jiangning was touched: "Thank you, sir. How much is it in total?"

The old doctor quickly waved his hand and said, "No need, no need. I should be thanking you, Master Jiang. Thank you for the signature."

"But…" Jiangning couldn't bring himself to take advantage like this, feigning ignorance. He wanted to say something else.

"Master Jiang, if possible, taking a photo with you would be the greatest support you could give me," the old doctor said with a smile.

"No problem. But, sir, you should still take the money. Otherwise, I really won't feel right."

"I told you, it's not necessary. Yuer, come out and take a picture for Grandpa." The old doctor called out loudly.

"Coming, Grandpa."

A young girl's voice came from the back room.

Subsequently, a girl wearing a white long dress, with a slender figure and a pretty face, walked out.

Jiangning was stunned when he saw her.

"It's you, Liu Si-yu," Jiangning couldn't help but say.

"It's you, Jiangning. What are you doing here?"

The girl looked surprised; she recognized Jiangning.

They were university classmates. Liu Si-yu was also the class beauty.

Although she was slightly inferior to the school flower, the difference wasn't much.

At university, Liu Si-yu and Jiangning's grades were always at the top, dominating first and second place.

Jiangning basically took first, and Liu Si-yu basically took second.

But their scores were far ahead of the third-place student, leaving them in the dust.

There were often rumors in the class that they were a match made in heaven, a golden boy and jade girl.

They didn't interact much in college.

After graduation, they hardly kept in touch.

"This is the shop your grandfather runs, and it's your home?" Jiangning asked, puzzled.

"Yes, I've lived here for over twenty years, so of course, it's my home."

Liu Si-yu smiled and nodded.

"Oh, what a coincidence today," Jiangning said awkwardly.

"What's this? Yuer, you and Master Jiang are classmates?" the old doctor asked, puzzled.

He was Liu Si-yu's grandfather, Liu Qiqi.

"Master Jiang?"

Liu Si-yu hadn't checked her phone last night, so she naturally didn't know why her grandfather was calling Jiang Ning "Master Jiang."

"Yu'er, didn't you see the news last night? Master Jiang became a sensation last night. On Huayin, Xiayin, and many other platforms, you know, you learned the tap dance from Master Jiang, and it went viral across the entire platform.

A lot of people rebroadcast his videos. Those who know about your tap dance learning video, there were at least nearly a hundred million people watching online," Liu Qiqi said excitedly.

Liu Si-yu sized up Jiang Ning: "Jiang Ning, when did you learn to tap dance? How come I didn't know?"

"Cough, cough, a little bit," Jiang Ning coughed awkwardly and smiled.

"Alright, Yu'er, quickly take a picture of me and Master Jiang together."

Liu Qiqi handed his phone to his granddaughter, Liu Si-yu.

Liu Si-yu held her phone, but her gaze was fixed on Jiangning, feeling that he was even more handsome than before. "Come on."

Though she said that, she was looking at Jiangning's face and physique on her phone.

"Yuer, are you ready?"

Seeing Liu Si-yu in a daze, Liu Qiqi urged her.

After all, he had been standing with Jiangning for quite a while, and he hadn't seen his granddaughter say she'd finished taking the photo.

"Oh, almost, Grandpa, Jiangning, smile for the camera."

Liu Si-yu came back to her senses, her face slightly flushed.

Click

"Click."

"Click."

"Grandpa took them all! He took quite a few."
