Chapter 1 - The Beginning of the Curse

Rouya" was walking through the streets of the city she had settled in only a month ago, following her bitter escape from her family, who were the primary cause of her misery. Although she was twenty-three years old, an observer would mistake her for sixty; suffering had ravaged both her physical and mental health. Worst of all, she possessed a cursed foresight that allowed her to see what ordinary humans could not—something she had grown accustomed to as long as she did not interfere in that parallel world.

Rouya was a girl with light brown hair and a short stature, possessing a youthful face and hazel eyes that once hinted at playfulness, but those features had frozen over time, becoming rigid and unshakable. She was walking through a park, and despite the vastness of the place, she perceived it as narrow due to the crowds of people she loathed. Therefore, she took an empty path, where she found an old woman with a hunched back picking up apples that had fallen from her basket.

Rouya went to help her, saying to herself, "Damn it, why is it that whenever I walk, I find someone I must help? Do these old women not know how to walk, or are they completely unable to move so that their things keep falling?"

When she finished gathering the apples and gave them to the old woman, she prepared to leave, but the old woman grabbed her hand and smiled, saying: "Thank you, my daughter. In return, I will give you this necklace in gratitude for your deed." It was a red necklace decorated with black, appearing as if it were a pulsing living creature, but Rouya did not take it seriously. She took it, said "Thank you," and continued on her way.

Rouya noticed that the old woman remained standing, watching her from afar and waving her hand, which triggered her anxiety. What increased her terror were the old woman's eyes, which tended toward redness, and her pale face that looked as if the blood had been drained from it. Rouya shook those hideous thoughts from her head and returned to her simple apartment. She took off her black coat and threw herself onto her bed, saying: "Let us write new chapters in our novel."

While she was busy with the computer, she began to hear voices whispering incomprehensible words in her ears. She said to herself: "They are back... those annoying voices are back again. Let's ignore it, let's ignore it." She put on her headphones to isolate herself from reality, and as midnight arrived, she surrendered to sleep.

She opened her eyes suddenly to find herself in a completely dark place. She screamed in terror: "I woke up in a dark place! No, not again, why do I find myself here?" In front of her appeared a massive black door decorated in white, with a moon split in half in its center. The door began to open—something that had never happened in her dreams before—and suddenly a flood of blood gushed out, drowning her completely. She screamed: "What is happening? This has never happened before!"

She woke up terrified, but her body was completely paralyzed; "sleep paralysis" was pressing down on her chest. She could see shadows moving in the darkness while she was unable to move. After desperate attempts, she jolted up and got out of bed, screaming in a mumble: "Who is there?"

She turned toward the mirror to find a shock that froze her veins; she saw the reflection of her form but in a terrifying way... eyes that were completely black with blood flowing from them. Suddenly, a black hand emerged from the heart of the mirror, gripped her neck, and said in a funereal voice:

"S... a... v... e... m... e..."
