Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: Jennifer is greedy, the ghost baby returns, and the evil spirit is sheltered

Chapter 50: Jennifer is greedy, the ghost baby returns, and the evil spirit is sheltered

Name: Diana

Abilities: Shadow Movement, Malevolence, Fear Feeding, Attachment, Physical Manifestation.

Assessment: A malevolent entity bound to darkness and shadow. It might know you better than you know yourself.

Danny's evaluation was that these were useful abilities.

Shadow Movement allows Diana to traverse freely within darkness, making her presence difficult for others to detect.

The force that previously lifted Danny into the air should be related to Malevolence.

As for Fear Feeding, it should involve absorbing fear emotions or life force from living beings.

Attachment and Physical Manifestation should be intertwined; the entity manifests using Diana's photosensitive condition and gradually adapted to that form.

However, because of the photosensitivity limitations, the entity wanted to break free.

But breaking free was very difficult, and over time, this entity became dependent on Diana's physical constraints and couldn't escape them.

Until Danny appeared…

There was also another point.

As the number of contained entities increased, Danny noticed that his supernatural understanding seemed to be gradually expanding.

There was no longer just specific analysis; instead, he needed to experience abilities himself.

Because some things cannot be fully analyzed, and words alone cannot describe them.

In contrast, for physical beings like serial killers, their capabilities were clearly defined.

Of course, this wasn't the biggest development.

The biggest development was that after containing Diana, his storage capabilities unlocked, providing additional portable space for supernatural items, though not very large.

Another function also became clear.

Aside from the major entities he'd already encountered, it allows the number of contained items in certain categories to no longer be restricted.

This means that for contained objects like cursed items, he can contain as many as he finds.

The unlock condition is:

Next level: Contain any haunted location.

Danny guessed that 'haunted location' here shouldn't refer to ordinary places, but rather existences like the Hell House, the Overlook Hotel, the cabin from Evil Dead, or locations from Silent Hill…

Then the difficulty is not just generally high.

One day later.

Danny's town.

Danny hired a cameraman to record footage, and this cameraman was Jennifer.

Every time Danny faced the camera, he felt as if he was filming a supernatural documentary. Actually, it was a supernatural documentary.

A cursed videotape is indeed a supernatural documentary.

And it's in a found-footage format.

"Baby, look here and smile."

Jennifer held a camera in one hand.

Danny gave her a lazy look and continued watching the monitor.

Emma appeared in the shot, but she appeared suddenly, holding a new doll.

Danny glanced at the doll.

Oh, isn't this Chucky?

Emma, why did you bring this thing back?

The doll was very short, about knee-height, wearing overalls and a striped shirt, with red-orange hair under a "Good Guys" cap. Its face looked like a freckled kid's—the classic Good Guy doll.

Cursed Doll: Contains hostile entity.

"Emma, where did you get this doll?"

Emma held up the doll and said,

"I saw a news report on TV that a serial killer died at a toy store. When I went to the toy store, a few dolls had just been marked down for clearance, so I picked one up and brought it back. Is this doll weird?"

Taking dolls from a crime scene wasn't necessarily true, but seeing the news report was.

Danny shook his head: "Not weird, I just saw this series of dolls on TV."

Emma understood Danny's meaning and gave the doll to Danny, saying: "It's for you, big brother."

Danny took the doll; this image could only be Chucky.

Recently, there have been a few too many doll incidents.

Annabelle, Dead Silence's Billy puppet, and now Chucky.

Three consecutive incidents, two of which were brought back by Emma.

Danny didn't know if this was luck or a curse.

For ordinary people, it should be a curse. No one would want such high-intensity contact with these supernatural things.

Jennifer asked, holding the camera.

"Why are you suddenly interested in dolls? Aren't those things only for kids?"

"I've only recently become interested. This doll is pretty interesting, isn't it?"

Danny held up the doll and displayed it in front of the camera. Jennifer filmed it close-up. She didn't know if it was an illusion, but she noticed the doll's eyes moved.

But when she looked closely again, she found the doll was motionless.

Was she seeing things?

Danny held Chucky by the overalls. He vaguely remembered a serial killer named Charles Lee Ray who was shot by a detective.

During the chase, the killer, mortally wounded, fled into a toy store. Just before dying, he used voodoo to transfer his soul into a Good Guy doll, which led to Chucky's birth.

His physical power seemed average for a possessed doll; it was just that people didn't expect a children's toy to be deadly, which is why victims were caught off guard.

But this is normal.

Who would believe that a serial killer would be reborn in a doll after death and return for revenge?

Danny examined Chucky closely, preparing to contain him properly. Although he was physically weak, his abilities might be useful.

Moreover, Chucky should be able to speak, so by that reckoning,

Chucky should be the first speaking contained entity Danny has acquired.

But they were still filming the documentary.

Danny first put Chucky aside, and at the same time, had Diana keep watch over Chucky to prevent him from causing trouble when he wasn't paying attention.

Don't underestimate Chucky's small size; his ability to cause chaos is significant, and he's full of profanity and tricks.

The rest of the time was spent filming and recording.

After filming, unnecessary segments would be edited out, and then the curse would be embedded into this footage.

Danny bought brand new equipment to play the videotape continuously.

Even with this, he wasn't completely confident, so he planned to copy a version to play continuously at the manor.

Chucky was placed in a shadowy corner of the living room.

Seeing that no one was around,

Chucky's eyes moved, and he was about to get up, but his movements suddenly froze.

Something in that shadow seemed to be watching him.

The dark shadow was motionless; when he moved, the dark shadow seemed to get closer.

Chucky backed down. He had already determined that the shadow might be a demon or entity, but why would a demon stare at him?

Weren't those humans easier targets?

The scene was at a standstill for a moment.

Until Chucky heard the sounds of a couple upstairs, he couldn't hold back and tried to get up again.

Diana moved from the shadows to in front of Chucky and pressed a skeletal claw on Chucky's head. If he moved again, the doll's head would be crushed.

Chucky very meekly played dead, motionless.

Upstairs.

Jennifer was playing a game with Danny, blindfolded hide-and-seek, but no matter where she hid, Danny could always find her.

"I'm tired, let's continue tomorrow, baby~"

Jennifer whispered into his ear, her breath warm.

Danny laughed.

"I might have something tomorrow."

"Then I definitely can't let you go today."

"What are you thinking? I'm just going to campus tomorrow, I'll be right back."

"No, that won't work either."

Jennifer was bold and affectionate, wrapping her arms around Danny's neck, not letting him leave.

Danny didn't refuse either; after all, Jennifer was an adult, and there was no one at home to disturb them today.

Danny was content to let her take the lead; Jennifer was clearly eager.

Jennifer was truly captivated by him.

She gently pushed Danny onto the bed, took out a hair tie, pulled her hair into a messy bun, her beautiful face full of desire. She straddled his waist, unbuttoned her top with one hand, and slowly leaned down…
