Chapter 1 - The peaceful world

The story begins with Hiro, a young man obsessed with video games, immersed in yet another marathon gaming session. His room is dimly lit, the glow from multiple screens casting eerie shadows on the walls. Hiro is lost in the virtual world, his fingers moving rapidly across the controller. Suddenly, the door bursts open, and his father enters, his face a mask of stern concern.

"Enough is enough!" his father scolds. "You're wasting your life away in these games. Tomorrow, you're going to the hill station. You need a break from all this."

Hiro opens his mouth to argue but notices something in his father's expression—a flash of worry, almost fear—before it vanishes. Reluctantly, Hiro agrees, sensing that there's more to this than just his father's concern for his gaming habits.

The next morning, Hiro packs his bags with a sense of unease, setting off for the nearby mountain range. As he grumbles about how nothing in the real world could ever compare to his games, his thoughts keep returning to the odd look on his father's face.

Upon reaching the hill station, Hiro stares at the towering mountains, unimpressed. "This place is nuts... the mountains in my game look way better," he mutters. Yet, despite his words, something about the place feels... off. The air is thick with an unsettling quiet, and the shadows seem to stretch unnaturally long.

As he wanders aimlessly, his foot catches on something hard beneath the leaves. Looking down, he notices a hidden trapdoor, partially concealed by dirt and foliage. His heart skips a beat—this wasn't here a moment ago. Or was it? He bends down, curiosity and an inexplicable sense of dread battling within him.

The trapdoor is heavy, unnervingly so, but Hiro is determined. With a grunt, he forces it open, revealing a pitch-dark passageway that seems to swallow the light. A shiver runs down his spine as he contemplates whether to enter. But something—perhaps the thrill-seeker in him—compels him to descend the stone steps.

The room at the bottom is ancient, the air thick with the scent of decay. As his flashlight flickers to life, it reveals crumbling walls covered in strange, faded symbols. At the center stands a black stone statue, its eyes gleaming with an unsettling red glow. The statue seems to watch him, its gaze following his every movement.

Hiro's breath catches. There's something disturbingly familiar about this place, as if he's seen it before—in a dream or perhaps in a game. But before he can dwell on it, a strange sound—a soft, echoing whisper—fills the room. Startled, Hiro stumbles back, his mind racing. He needs to get out of here.

He hurries up the steps, the whispers growing louder, more insistent. By the time he reaches the top, he's almost running. He bursts out onto a nearby road, his heart pounding. But before he can catch his breath, a loud honking startles him. He turns, but it's too late. A truck barrels towards him, and everything goes black.
