Arrival: A World That Did Not Blink
The alternate X-Men comic universe was louder than most realities.
Not in sound but in pressure.
Cosmic entities passed judgment casually here.
Mutants argued philosophy while gods rewrote continents. Tragedy was common, heroism was conditional, and power, real power, always drew consequences.
Broko arrived in silence, suppressing himself to a level that would not tear the sky.
Broko (arrival, suppressed): ~180,000,000
Still, the world noticed.
Not immediately.
But the wrong people did.
The One Who Called Himself a God
His public name changed constantly rebranding was part of his survival strategy.
In the shadows, among brokers of power, he was called Eidolon Rex.
Former human.
Reincarnated.
Granted a system that rewarded attention, devotion, Sexual conquest and social influence.
Not skill.
Not struggle.
Eidolon Rex (current): ~1,000,000,000
He had never fought anyone who could truly kill him.
He made sure of that.
Broko's First Year: Observation, Not Judgment
Broko did not challenge him yet.
He studied the world.
How the World Worked
Mutants with world-ending potential were monitored, politicized, or suppressed.
Corporations replaced governments in quiet wars
"Heroes" were brands
Reality-benders were bargaining chips
Broko intervened selectively.
He stopped a Sentinel extermination squad not to save the weak , but to test himself against evolving tech.
He fought a rogue Omega mutant in the Siberian wastes, adapting to reality-warping pressure.
He clashed briefly with cosmic enforcers and withdrew once data was gathered.
The different factions reacted.
Reactions to Broko:
The X-Men
They sensed danger.
Not normal evil, definitely not heroism.
Predation.
"He's not here for us," one telepath warned. "But if we interfere… he won't stop."
Human Power Blocs
They labeled Broko a variable.
Attempts were made to manipulate him they sent government sanctions his way.
They failed.
Cosmic Observers
They watched with interest.
Broko trained openly in desolate of world places, under collapsing gravity wells, inside magnetar storms, against constructs of pure energy.
He refined:
Ki compression under alien physics
Combat without environmental dominance
Mental resistance to psychic intrusion
Broko (after 1 year): ~260,000,000
Still below Eidolon Rex.
And Eidolon knew it.
The Arrogant Watcher
Eidolon watched Broko through networks like financial, psychic and social.
He never confronted him.
Never needed to.
"He's interesting," Eidolon said casually
during a gala, surrounded by admirers. "But he's chasing relevance. I own relevance."
Eidolon believed strength was measured in influence.
Broko believed it was measured in who remained standing when no one was watching.
Year Two: The World Pushes Back
Broko escalated his activity, not against Eidolon but against the systems that fed him.
Broko dismantled corporate cabals shielding predators
Exposed psychic manipulation rings
Destroyed black-ops labs exploiting mutant children
He did not claim credit.
The world shook anyway.
Eidolon felt it.
His system slowed.
Not weakened.
But Stressed.
For the first time, Eidolon noticed resistance.
Training Arc: Crossing the Gap
Broko realized something critical:
Eidolon's power was shallow but vast.
To fight him directly without preparation would be wasteful.
So Broko trained differently.
He sought pressure.
He baited conflicts with cosmic-tier threats and withdrew at the brink of annihilation. He allowed his body to adapt to forces beyond simple ki.
He learned to fight while his senses were compromised.
While his ki was disrupted.
While reality itself resisted him.
Broko (end of year two): ~900,000,000
Still slightly inferior.
But no longer outclassed.
The World Notices the Shift
Eidolon stopped smiling.
His system started reported anomalies.
Growth without external rewards.
No worship.
No acclaim.
Just refinement.
"That shouldn't be possible," Eidolon muttered.
For the first time
He felt watched now and not in the way he likes
.
The Challenge
Broko did not ambush him.
He appeared openly standing atop a ruined spire once used as a symbol of Eidolon's influence.
He waited.
Eidolon arrived, radiant, adored, surrounded by passive defenses and loyal enforcers.
"You took your time," Eidolon said.
Broko looked at him.
Really looked.
"You had everything," Broko said calmly.
"And chose to hide."
Eidolon laughed. "I chose to win."
Broko powered up.
The sky fractured as weather patterns were negatively affected .
Broko (full output): ~1,000,000,000
Equal.
Silence fell.
For the first time in his existence
Eidolon faced someone who did not want his throne.
Only his end.
End of Chapter Thirteen
