What was the second event?
It was officially known as the Chariot. The goal of the event was incredibly straightforward: the participants had to race across a sprawling, winding track made entirely of massive, moving, interconnected chariots and cross the finish line inside the Domus Flau arena.
Frankly, it was a painfully simple event. It was just a race.
Which is why Finn decided Sorano should represent Heavenly Blue.
"Really?" Sorano looked at him, completely aghast. Her legs were incredibly sore, a direct consequence of losing her virginity to his ferocious stamina the previous night.
While Finn had used a mild healing spell on her, she was still physically exhausted. How could he be so heartless as to send her out to run a continent-spanning marathon?!
"You're perfectly fine. Unlike before, your physical vitality is at its absolute peak," Finn replied, speechless, as he knew well that Sorano was just exaggerating her situation.
He wasn't lying. Previously, Sorano had been in a fragile state, relying on his passive aura just to keep her life force stable. But after spending the entire night intimately entangled with him, Finn had directly injected a massive amount of his life essence and vitality into her (semen). Her internal life force wasn't just restored; it was completely supercharged.
Furthermore, unlike Erza, who had stubbornly demanded to keep the lingering pain as a memento, Sorano, Meredy, and Ultear had practically begged him to heal their sore bodies completely before dawn.
Then again, Finn felt this was a perfectly normal reaction. Erza, with her knightly discipline and freakish combat conditioning, was built differently than the rest of them.
"Well..." Sorano hesitated, crossing her arms. "Fine. But you have to take control of my body too. And if possible, I want you to use an incredibly elegant, beautiful magic when I fight."
It was a strange request, considering she hadn't wanted to participate at all a moment ago. But after watching Meredy and Flare look incredibly cool and stylish during the broadcast yesterday, Sorano wanted her own highlight reel.
"Okay, okay. Don't worry. Is a katana fine?" Finn asked.
"...You're going to turn me into a swordsman?"
"Is that a problem?"
"Okay, then." Sorano mentally shrugged. She was genuinely curious to see what kind of sword techniques Finn would execute using her body.
"Good. Just relax," Finn instructed.
Activating his Possession Magic, Finn seamlessly hijacked Sorano's motor functions, piloting her out of the dugout and toward the staging area.
"Did he learn swordsmanship too, Flare?" Ultear asked, leaning back in her chair. As the woman who had been with Finn the longest (excluding Bisca), Flare should have known many things about him, which was why Ultear asked this question. "I mean, I know he wields that terrifying axe and saber, but his style is brutal and overwhelming. It definitely doesn't suit an elegant katana, right? Especially considering Sorano's physical specs are nowhere near his."
"Hmm... I'm absolutely certain Finn-sama has mastered it," Flare replied with blind, unwavering devotion.
"I think so too," Meredy agreed, crossing her arms. Unlike before, Meredy exuded a subtle, mature charm—the undeniable glow of a woman who had finally crossed the threshold into adulthood. "Look at how flawlessly he handled the bow yesterday. It wouldn't be weird if he had completely mastered every form of martial arts."
"Well..." Ultear tapped her chin, eventually nodding. She knew better than anyone that Finn's capacity for rapid learning bordered on the supernatural. Calling him the 'God of Magic' at this point wasn't even much of a stretch.
Does he possess Dragon Slayer Magic too? Ultear wondered silently.
Down in the city, 'Sorano' was led to the starting line—the very rear of a massive, continuous train of moving carts winding through the streets of Crocus.
"This track is way too long. I don't want to get sweaty," Sorano complained from the mental cockpit.
"Then we'll just fly," Finn replied simply.
"Can you give me really beautiful wings?"
"....." Finn sighed internally. Women will always be women, no matter the stakes.
Looking around, Finn noticed that only seven participants had lined up for the event.
Risley Law from Mermaid Heel, Yuka Suzuki from Lamia Scale, Ichiya Vandalay from Blue Pegasus, Gajeel Redfox from Fairy Tail Team B, Natsu Dragneel from Fairy Tail Team A, and Sting Eucliffe from Sabertooth.
Finn was genuinely speechless staring at Natsu, Gajeel, and Sting. Dragon Slayers might be some of the strongest mages on the continent, but placing them on top of moving vehicles? It was basically the equivalent of throwing Devil Fruit users into the ocean. They were completely useless.
"You left early yesterday, so you probably didn't hear, but Raven Tail was disqualified," Risley, the chubby mage from Mermaid Heel, approached Sorano with a friendly smile, explaining the missing eighth team.
"It doesn't really matter. That guild wasn't a threat anyway," 'Sorano' replied smoothly. If it had been anyone else, Finn would have ignored them, but he made a habit of remaining polite to women.
As for Yuka, Ichiya, and the three Dragon Slayers, Finn ignored them completely. Especially Ichiya. If he accidentally engaged in conversation with the bizarre Blue Pegasus mage while piloting Sorano, he was terrified he might accidentally acquire a stalker for her.
"Is that guy seriously still alive?! I stabbed him to death seven years ago!" Sorano yelled from the cockpit, a deeply creepy sensation washing over her.
In the original timeline, Sorano (Angel) had practically assassinated Ichiya during the Nirvana arc. Seeing him strutting around completely fine seven years later was genuinely baffling.
"Aren't you worried about Fairy Tail?" Risley continued, oblivious to the internal monologue. "The electricity guy from Team B single-handedly defeated the entire Raven Tail guild yesterday. And Sabertooth sent Sting."
"It's fine. I'm going to win this event," 'Sorano' stated matter-of-factly.
"You think you can beat me in a race, huh?" Sting sneered, glaring at the masked Heavenly Blue mage.
"Before you make bold claims, you'd better make sure you don't throw up first," 'Sorano' retorted.
"Huh?" Sting blinked in confusion. Unlike Finn, Sting had absolutely no idea what the mechanics of the "Chariot" event were. But the moment the massive train of interconnected carts beneath his feet suddenly lurched into motion, his face turned a violent shade of green.
"Oh, no..."
"A moving vehicle..."
It wasn't just Sting. Natsu and Gajeel instantly collapsed to their hands and knees, their faces turning blue as intense motion sickness hit them like a physical blow.
"Now, the moment we've all been waiting for!" Chapati Lola screamed from the stadium. "The second event, Chariot! A brutal race across the moving carts to the finish line! Are you all ready?!"
"YEAAAAAHHHH!" the crowd roared.
"START!"
The moment the bell rang, 'Sorano' didn't waste a single millisecond.
Swoooosh!
Two massive, breathtakingly beautiful, radiant white angel wings erupted from her back, spreading wide and catching the morning sun.
"W-Wings...?"
"Angel's wings...?"
The crowd was completely dazzled. Up in the Fairy Tail stands, Mirajane, Lisanna, Cana, and Elfman stared in absolute shock. Elfman, who was intimately familiar with Angel Magic from his past battles, recognized the signature instantly.
"Oh, no..." Cana muttered, pulling her flask away from her lips. "This event is already over."
The sheer concussive force of Sorano's wings violently flapping generated a localized hurricane. The massive burst of wind slammed into the remaining competitors, forcing Risley, Yuka, and Ichiya to dive and cling desperately to the moving floorboards just to avoid being blown off the track.
"Dammit!"
"The wind!"
"I'm gonna barf!"
Natsu, Gajeel, and Sting were already incapacitated by motion sickness, completely helpless as the gale-force winds buffeted them.
By the time the competitors managed to open their eyes again, Sorano was entirely gone.
Soaring through the sky at breakneck speed, Finn piloted Sorano straight over the sprawling city, completely bypassing the winding labyrinth of moving carts. With a graceful, elegant dive, she landed softly in the dead center of the Domus Flau arena.
The stadium was dead silent.
"Now, it is over," 'Sorano' announced calmly, her wings dissolving into particles of light.
"..."
The crowd, the commentators, and the sponsors stared at the massive magical timer hovering above the arena.
It had taken her exactly three seconds.
Without a shadow of a doubt, Heavenly Blue had just effortlessly secured another crushing victory.
