Chapter 35 - The School Competition

Knock. Knock.

"Come in."

Raiden slowly opened the office door, looking at the place that gave off a playful yet professional vibe. One side of the walls was completely adorned with shelves that were filled with books, yet halfway through, the books were replaced by action figures of various Terra Beasts as well as various plushies, giving off a childish feel.

The walls were adorned with multiple posters, ranging from motivational quotes like 'No Pain, No Gain' to posters of various cute and playful Terra Beasts.

Ever since Yuna took office, she has changed the interior drastically, from a professional-looking office to the current one.

Not that anyone ever dared to complain about it. The last time someone said something about the room, the witch had ended up sending him to the hospital for a whole month.

He heard that even the principal was afraid of her, giving her free reign over everything.

"Good Morning Miss Yuna. You are looking particularly good today!" Raiden started throwing compliments as soon as he entered.

Everyonee like compliments, even witches like this. Flattery will get you everywhere. But he soon learnt that logic doesn't apply to witches like this one.

The Witch, Miss Yuna herself, was sitting in the centre of the room on a premium-looking sofa. Her feet, covered in black stockings and red high heels, were propped on the table in front of her, as she typed away on a little laptop in her lap.

"Ah, Sylvia's useless brother, you are here. Come, sit. Also, what do you mean by I look good today? Do you mean to tell me I don't look good every day?!" Miss Yuna responded in her normal haughty tone, bringing her feet down before gesturing him to take a sit on the couch in front of her.

Raiden, on the other hand, felt speechless.

'How does this witch brain function?? Who responds to casual compliments like this?!'

Before Raiden could answer her, she started talking once again.

"You know what, don't answer that. I don't really care about your opinion anyways. Why are you still standing? Have a seat."

Raiden really, really felt like hitting her. With a tick on his forehead, he sat down on a three-person sofa in front of her. Whoever made this witch a counsellor must really hate children to their core.

Woolie, on the other hand, felt curious about this beautiful big sister. Struggling out of Raiden's hands, he landed on the table, walking curiously towards her.

"Hmm? Is this your chosen Terra Beast? A Woolie, a farm animal? Well it certainly fits you and a person of your potential. Atleast it's cute." Yuna extended her hand, rubbing his head with her long nails, making Woolie close its eyes in comfort.

"Woolie~" (≧▽≦)

Raiden had started to filter this woman's words and her biting insults. He had almost forgotten how she could be after staying away from her for two weeks.

"Sylvia said you called me here, Miss Yuna?" He asked politely.

"Ah, yes. She told me you took her to live off on a farm away from the city? Are you alright in the head? You may be an antisocial, unlikable person, but she is not. She is young and full of life, and needs a lot of friends and peers of her age while growing up."

Yuna picked Woolie up and settled him on her lap, continuing to pet him. Woolie, the traitor, had no qualms about it as he closed in his eyes in comfort, enjoying the message provided by the person who continued to insult his Partner.

"I know a person like you with zero friends wouldn't understand it, but she needs to hangout with her friends. Living alone away from the city will only hinder her development." Yuna spoke earnestly.

Ignoring her heart-piercing statements, Raiden fell into thought. She was right, he didn't really consider her or her feelings about it. He was busy with his work or training all day, leaving her with no one to talk to or having nothing to do.

He did not want a sister to grow up without friends or like a hikikomori. She absolutely needed some friends and a happy childhood.

"You are right, Miss Yuna. I'm really sorry. I didn't consider Sylvia's feelings and take her into account. Do you have any advice?" Raiden bowed towards her.

Seeing this, a smile appeared on her face as she nodded.

"Hmm. At least you are teachable. That's good. I suggest putting her in the school hostel for the rest of the year. Let her grow up among her friends. And with your farm just half an hour away, you both can visit each other whenever you want."

"Alright, let's do it. I'll talk to Sylvia about it, and look into how to book a place." Raiden also wasted no time. He was a man of action, and once he made his decision, he wanted to follow through with it immediately.

"No need for all that. I have already booked a premium room for her on the campus and took care of everything else. She can move in whenever she wants." Yuna waved her hands nonchalantly.

Raiden:???

He felt confused. "I am sorry, what?"

"Have you become deaf on top of being useless? I just told you I have booked a place for her well before talking to you, and finished all the documentation and formalities. All she needs to do is move in." Yuna repeated, her tone once again taking the same overbearing stance he was familiar with.

"But I never said yes before it. What if I said no?" Raiden questioned. He was truly baffled by her.

"Heh, do you really think your words matter? I am doing all this for Sylvia. I only called you here to inform you as a basic courtesy, since you are her big brother and all. She would have moved to that place with or without your consent. I don't want to waste her future potential due to your uselessness." Yuna spoke bluntly, making Raiden feel really angry.

He swore his blood pressure spiked whenever he was talking to her. After taking some deep breaths, he calmed down. She was a Platinum Battle Master, while he was just a pleb. Whatever she said goes. Besides, she had Sylvia at her heart, however bitchy her attitute maybe.

"Is there anything else, Miss Yuna? If not, I'll be on my way." Raiden spoke while gritting his teeth. He didn't want to stay with this woman any longer.

"No, that will be all. Oh, right. I just remembered. Do you want to take part in inter school competiton for new graduates? Not that you have any chance to win or something."

Raiden waved his hands as he stood up, while picking Woolie from her lap as he started walking away.

"No thanks. I am alright. I don't have time for such things."

"Alright, I'll mark that down. It's a shame, the prize money being 5 Million and all."

Raiden stopped dead in his tracks after hearing her words.

"How much?!"

"5 Million Credits. It's a shame that—"

"Sign me up!!"
