Act 5
The old man had a nice attire and carried himself with elegance, everything about him screamed royalty. If not for his bloodshot eyes, you would think he was an old fashion model. I slowed my vehicle to inspect my surroundings and Amari did not lie when he said army bombed the hell of our location. Not a single building was in sight, and the road was filled with holes that any normal car would have trouble getting out. The cars following us decided to take the other route that didn't have craters in it and we lost them ever since. I was shitting bricks when the superhuman started speaking in a deep voice, it was like a corrupt judge sentencing someone to be skinned alive, atleast that was what i felt when he glared at us, i believe the fellow superhumans were his close friends, more likely their offsprings. It would explain the sense of dread I'm feeling while looking at him.
Superhuman: you lesser beings dare to harm my loved ones? I will show you what terror awaits your puny planet, no matter where you try to escape, death shall chase you as long as the moon follows the sun.
He proceeded to turn around and raise both of his hands and he yelled
" Ego, Princeps Coronae Constantinus Secundus Herathiae, finem huius planetae nuntio: venite, Moles Animae Comedens!"
(Translation that only the readers and Constantine know) "I, Crown Prince Constantine the Second of Herathia, herald the end of this planet: come forth, the Giant Soul Eater!"
Silence…. After the long silence a light appeared in front of him, it was painfully slow, it was somewhat anticlimactic, I slowly drove around him while his back was turned to me, AVX29 is quiet as mouse when you are not stomping on the pedal like an idiot, i put a little of distance between us before he noticed.
And boy, when he noticed he was not happy at all.
Superhuman: WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU ARE GOING YOU FOOL.
Some invisible force lifted us up in the air with ease, all of us were freaking out naturally. He pulled us closer to him and started shouting
Superhuman: i will personally punish you for making fun of me!!! You shall be the first humans to be fed to Anima Comedens.
I rolled down my window and retorted
???: please man we are just civilians I can take you to the people responsible for harming your loved ones.
Angelica got on my seat and screamed
Angelica: go to hell you old bastard!!!! You were the one who attacked us, when we did not even do anything,*gasps* just like Doradoran the great said you REAP WHAT YOU SOW!!
Absolute silence descended upon us, the superhuman was too stunned to speak, he simply was not mentally ready to be called out like that, and that was the golden opportunity created by the amazing Angelica, I whispered in her ear to return to her seat and buckle up but do not make it obvious, the superhuman broke the silence.

Before he could finish his boring one sided monologue the beast opened its eyes and a light that can conquer the sun has shined upon the old soul!!!
Superhuman: GAAAH MY EYES FUCKKKKKK.
He let go of the the beast suddenly but the beast was ready for the fall
Henry: AHHHH MY TAILBONE
By the time the superhuman opened his white spot filled eyes the beast was already gone. He let out a chuckle and said" you may be a great asset to the empire nameless one but that is if you survived the soul eater, run as far as you like, this planet is doomed"
Everyone inside the car was shaking from the adrenaline, henry was sitting awkwardly for the whole ride, I could hear angies heart beating from 2 seats away, nana Kelly was the first to broke the silence.
Nana Kelly: Henry, I have met many people in my life, but your two friends here are amazing through and through, i can rest easy knowing that you are in safe hands.
???: thank you nana, we are just stupidly lucky
Angie looked at nana with tears in her eyes.
Angie: God im so stupid I let my emotions get the better of me and almost got all of us killed
She finally broke down after holding it in for so long, if I wasn't maneuvering the ruined streets at 50 miles per hour I would have comforted her, I could only tell her that we are a team, and a team creates opportunities for each other. If she did not distract him who knows what would've happened, good thing nana was comforting her physically as she sobbed.
After driving for 10 minutes we arrived at the rendezvous point and the faces of everyone was gold, they could not believe that we made it through from the middle of the city to here unscathed, the beast suffered minor dents from the meat bags that stood in its path. Amari rush toward us and told me if I had any important information regarding the superhuman and the monsters, anything that can change the fate of this city.
After resting for a little bit a lieutenant came to our tent, he had a lot questions for me, his had a very distracting unibrow and a square jawline, he looked like the American in every Japanese game.
Lieutenant Dan: are you done staring at my eyebrows son? I want to ask you if you have any information that could help us assess the situation and maybe change the higher ups plans regarding the fate of this city.
It was our time to shine, we bombarded him with all our theories and what happened at the parking lot. I told him that the mage that caused the earthquake was the one who died, he wasn't the one who threw the boulder at the aerials, he only formed the ground into a ball but the old looking sorcerer was the one who threw it using some form of telekinesis. We told him that he carried my 8-ton AVX29 as if it was nothing and we luckily got away because I blinded him with the two hundred thousand lumen special flashlight that was equipped at the front of the truck. The lieutenant unibrows kept going up and down as all the information was pumped into his head. Henry pitched in the theory that they all use different kinds of magic. He said, "The translation magia as doradoran called it was spell activated between two or three individuals only, I couldn't understand him when angelica and… whatever his name is, was talking to them". "Only the commanders of the army have access to it, so don't bother capturing the regulars". "The sorcerer on the other hand was using a different kind of power".
Now that I think about it, he was using two different powers at the same time but anyway none of that matters now. Lieutenant Dan left the tent with a strained look on his face, and I could not blame him. The source of power was confirmed to be magic, which the army had no way of predicting due to too many variables and unknowns. They had no choice but to bomb the city now. The reason it hadn't already been nuked was that the invaders seemed to be gathering and making camp in the middle of the city near the summoning point.
Adrian came soon after, and I asked him about what he had said regarding a 1,200-foot tall monster being summoned. It had been weighing on my mind.
Adrain: the satellites picked up a faint projection of some kind of abomination, also given your confrontation with the sorcerer, it made us sure that something was being summoned. Matter of fact younging', the energy seems to be getting stronger by the second. We have to evacuate you at this instance.
I sensed the urgency in his voice, everyone got up and headed to the tall building that had a chopper ready to pick us up. Fortunately, the lifts were operational and we didn't have to climb hundred flights of stairs. Amari was the pilot, he worked as a pilot under my uncle's mercenary group for 15 years before he retired and became a butler as a side hustle. Everyone was ecstatic when we bordered the chopper. finally the nightmare was over. All of escaped safely so far, we just had to relax for now, or so I thought. I opened my phone to check what happened to my grandma who was in japan, 'maybe the whole world was being attacked the same time I have to check on her now that I'm safe' I thought to myself. I opened my phone and to my horror, my grandma was making a surprise visit for me sincee I have not seen her in a while. She sent me a selfie with a crying eyes filter, the background of it was me walking around with Angie after we went out of the restaurant , the caption said " grandson, you are not fooling anyone with that mask, you are not batboy*crying emoji*.
