Another set of footsteps echoed.

Just darkness.

"You're overthinking."

Scene 2 – The Alley

Then hid behind a wall.

The man stumbled backward.

"Thomas?!"
Her ex-husband was standing there.
Eyes red.
Completely blinded.
Scene 3 – Miho's House
Ten minutes later.
Thomas sat at her kitchen sink.
Miho helping him wash his eyes.

"I can't believe you sprayed me."
Miho:
"I can't believe you were stalking me."
Thomas:
"I wasn't!"
Miho:
"You were following me for days!"
Thomas:
"Because someone else was following you!"
Miho paused.
Thomas finally opened his eyes.
Miho crossed her arms.
"Explain."
Thomas pointed outside.
"I noticed a man watching your house."
Miho:
"What?"
Thomas:
"So I followed him."
Miho frowned.
"Who was it?"
Thomas hesitated.
Then quietly said—
"I think it was Kai Wen."
Silence.
Miho stared at him.
"Kai Wen?"
Thomas nodded.
"It was dark."
"I couldn't see clearly."
"But he looked like him."
Miho's expression slowly changed.
Confusion.
Concern.
Disbelief.
Thomas:
"Please believe me."

"And why should I?"
Thomas sighed.

"You've lied to me before."

Miho looked at him carefully.

"Don't meet him alone."

"Thomas."

"What?"
Miho pointed toward the door.
"Get out."
Thomas blinked.

"Out."
Thomas sighed dramatically.
"Fine."
As he reached the door—
He looked back.
His voice became serious.
"Just be careful."

Scene 4 – A Troubling Memory

"They nearly got suspended."
