Chapter 80 - Chapter 80:

Chapter 80: The Land of Waves Heist

"Besides, this is just pocket change. I'll teach you how to make the real big money later," Touhuan said, patting Kakashi on the shoulder with a shark-like grin.

"Then don't wait. Let's do it tomorrow," Kakashi replied, his tone unusually serious.

"What?" Touhuan raised an eyebrow. "You mean after the Land of Waves mission?"

"Mm," Kakashi nodded. "The Third Hokage briefed me. Recently, a surge of bandits has appeared on the border between the Land of Fire and the Land of Waves. Many are rogue ninjas from Kirigakure.

Ordinary squads can't handle them, so the Third is mobilizing Jonin. I've accepted one of the team leads."

Kakashi added a frustrated sigh. "I don't know why, but lately, Kirigakure rogues are everywhere, and they're surprisingly strong. Neighboring small nations are desperate and flooding the village with help requests."

Touhuan smiled inwardly. Of course they are—didn't his "good friend" Obito just turn the Hidden Mist into a bloody nightmare?

"When do we leave?" Touhuan asked.

"Morning. Assemble at the village entrance," Kakashi said, tossing a mission scroll to him.

"Understood." Touhuan caught the scroll and headed toward Yakiniku Q with Kakashi for a final meal before the deployment.

The next morning, Touhuan handled his Anbu paperwork early, grabbed his gear, and headed to the gates. To his surprise, Kakashi was actually on time for once, making Touhuan the last to arrive.

The team consisted of Kakashi and Touhuan as the Jonin leads, with four civilian Special Jonin. Being the heavy hitters, Touhuan's slight delay wasn't questioned. After clearing the paperwork, the squad sprinted toward the southeast.

By the next day, they reached the capital of the Land of Waves. Following a subtle signal from Touhuan, the two Jonin swapped themselves with Shadow Clones to lead the team, while their real bodies vanished into the shadows of the city.

"Where to now?" Kakashi asked, masked and hidden. He still remembered Touhuan's mysterious solo trip at Tanzaku Street and was curious.

Touhuan didn't answer. Instead, he reached up and untied his Leaf headband, tucking it away. Kakashi followed suit, but his permanent Sharingan was a dead giveaway. He quickly pulled out medical bandages, wrapping them around his eye and head like a wounded mercenary.

"You really look like... a certain someone now," Touhuan remarked, suppressing a laugh at the 'mummy' look.

Kakashi glared at him. "You didn't tell me to bring a civilian disguise. This is the best I can do."

"Fair enough," Touhuan laughed. "Let's go, Brother Ra—it's time to make money. Big money!"

Touhuan led him toward the outskirts, into the district where the mansions looked like fortresses. Kakashi grew increasingly uneasy as the buildings became more opulent.

"Where exactly are we going, Touhuan?"

"Right there. We've arrived." Touhuan pointed to the most luxurious estate in the district. It belonged to Gato (Kado), the billionaire shipping magnate known for his 'Black Gold' and ruthless monopolies.

"Get inside and knock out everyone except the boss. Can you handle that?" Touhuan asked with a smirk.

"Hey, isn't this... against the rules?" Kakashi hesitated. His ninja heart still clung to some semblance of a moral code.

But Touhuan had already vanished into the mansion grounds. Kakashi gritted his teeth and followed. To ninjas of their caliber, Gato's hired muscle was a joke. Within minutes, the guards were slumped in the hallways, and the two stood before the master bedroom.

Inside, Gato was fast asleep, snoring next to a girl. Touhuan leaned over and lightly tapped the billionaire's cheek.

Gato's eyes snapped open, only to see three glowing crimson Tomoe staring back at him in the dark. He nearly had a heart attack. "Who—who's there?!"

The girl beside him stirred, but Kakashi was faster, weaving a quick Genjutsu to put her into a deep, dreamless sleep and wiping her recent memory.

"Who are you?!" Gato realized he was in trouble and lunged for the alarm button near the window.

Clang!

A shuriken embedded itself into the wood, less than a centimeter from his fingers. The vibration stung his hand.

"Mr. Gato, the rest of the mansion is 'resting.' If you touch that button, things get noisy. And I really hate noise," Touhuan said, his voice terrifyingly calm.

"If it's money you want, we can talk!" Gato forced a trembling smile.

He was a businessman; he knew when he was outmatched. "The safe in the corner... it has a hundred million in gold. Take it all. The code is 874591."

Kakashi moved to the safe and punched in the numbers. It clicked open, revealing a hoard of shimmering gold bars.
