Chapter 28 - Opportunity Lost

It has been hours and the night approaching fast. The ladies have not shown any sign of waking up. Exhausted and wounded lying down but Garamba seems to be the worst among them all and Gurudza has no one to help heal her. If only Genteel was not drained and still up maybe she would have helped her.

He places her on his lap with tears racing down his cheeks seeing his mother lying lifeless on his lap. Thoughts of regret flood his mind. If only he had just held his mother and made peace with her.

Tears flow on his cheeks dropping on his mother, "You need to wake up mom! I cannot lose you again! I just got you back I admit I was not on my best behaviour toward you but I promise if you just wake up, I will not treat you badly."

She does not respond to him and he screams looking in the sky and clouds gather and a thunderstorm begins in responds to his anger.

"Where are you, you stupid god when I need you!" he shouts out calling out to Wezhira.

Holding his mother in his hand and he cannot even use recovering or healing power and she is slowly losing her life and he can feel her slipping into the dark abyss of death slowly. On top of that he does not even know what to do with the three bodies lying lifeless.

A thought sneaks into his mind on his father's ability to manipulate gravity and he gently settles his mother on the ground.

"I have used it before, it should not be hard for me to control!" he cheers himself on and prepares stretches his body preparing to run his first trial of a none violent use on a human being.

"Steady ...….steady ...….steady!" he slowly sets his hand in front to begin.

A young female voice says to him, "Don't do that!"

He startles and searches around to see who it is but he sees no one but the voice sounds familiar.

"Do not look around searching for me fly boy I am not hiding from you!" she appears right in front of him and appears to be analysing his body and she smiles, "You are that dude that was trying to fight my twin brother!"

"Pardon me?" he is confused as to who she is talking about.

"He might have told you, his name, Troy."

"Wait, you are his twin sister?" he points at her surprised.

"Yes, I am and that old lady over there is almost done for so just leave her there and carry the other two!"

"I cannot leave her; she is my mother!"

"Ohh, I am so sorry! But in order to save her you need an actual god! She is too far gone for a demigod or a witch or demon to reach. The thing that did this to her did not have normal dark power that originates from this world."

"And where am I going to get a god from!" he asks clearing his eyes.

"So, it happens that I am a god and for the hospitality you showed my brother and the happiness you graced him with, I will help you with your problems!"

"Thank you!" he freezes thinking what's her name, "I did not catch your name, little girl."

"Well, maybe that is because you were not told!" she smiles, "The name is Trey Zolahan, the child of Moira Zolahan!"

He smiles back at her, "So, you two are truly twins! You both mention your mother's name why not your father's name also?"

"It is a long story! Mother is the most revered human on earth and her power is unrivalled and our father died and no one knows him!"

"Ohh I am so sorry!"

"Do not be! My brother and I hunted the bastard that took our father away and killed him!"

"Are you not too young to be killing?"

"In the world I live in, being weak is not acceptable!"

"I see."

She advances toward the bodies, "Well, back to the task at hand now!"

Gurudza turns to look at the ladies, "Yes, but are you sure you can heal them all?"

She laughs squatting down, "Have faith!" she turns to look at him, "You are a Christian right?"

"He laughs, "Yes, yes, I am!"

She gets up and walks up to him looking at him weirdly like she is searching for something, "Strange! My brother was right! I cannot read you in any way!"

"You mean the omniscience thing he was talking about?"

"Yes, the cosmic awareness!"

"Yes, but I do not have it!"

"That is not surprising! Demigods do not possess each and every power the god who sired them possessed!"

"Your brother did not mention that."

"Most probably because he did not know that!"

"How come he does not know that?"

"It is complicated, Guru!"

"Okay, what you just called me there is weird!"

"I know, I just like that way!"

"Okay, can you help my mother now please before it is too late!"

"What is the rush, Guru, we are having a nice conversation right now!" #

"I know but she is losing her life quickly!"

"Alright, Alright Guru!" she takes Garamba by the head and presses her hands on the side softly and closes her eyes, "This will only take a second!" she opens up one eye looking at him, "You need to step back because I am not going to heal her alone right now, I am on her because she needs to be attended to more!"

He moves back and watches from a distance as she heals them. An intense light covers the whole area and Gurudza closes his eyes increasing the distance to keep himself safe. The light slowly fades and Trey re-appears in front of Gurudza.

She drags his arm, "Everything is done now!" he opens his eyes, "You see, they are all healed now!" she smiles.

"What did you just do?" he looks surprised, his mother no longer has wounds on her and she seems to be breathing fine, "Why the hell are they not awake?"

She looks down on the ladies sleeping, "It is a precaution I took. They will wake up right after I am gone!"

Racing down the cheeks they go again the tears feeling thankful, "I do not know if I can even ever thank you enough for what you have done for me today!"

"Do not worry about it, Guru, I got you!" she taps him on the arm, "Well, it is time for me to go now. See you around Guru!" she leaves the place.

Gurudza watches her as she goes disappearing slowly and the sleeping ladies slowly wake up from their slumber and Gurudza rushes over to assist them. Relieved to see his mother awaken from the slumber, the tear flow perpetuates with him getting closer to her.

He has been at war with himself, denying her as his mother and the opportunity almost lost has been re-established and can make things right with his mother! He rushes over to her and embraces her crying out loud with relief.

"There, there my boy, it is alright!" she taps the back of his head softly, "Everything is going to be alright, my child!"

"I am sorry, mother, for being too harsh on you!"

"It is okay, it is not your fault!" she tries to remove the guilt from him, "If I was not consumed by the darkness and abandoned you, you would have not had to live without your mother!"

He does not reply but holds her tighter. Mukura and Genteel watch closely and in the distance another one watches holding one that almost caused the misery.

"That power that you had, brother, where did you get it?" Gwanhoya enquires the source from Astaroth who is terrified of her.

"From the one true god of darkness! All hail Mozaad!" he exults Mozaad.

Gwanhoya is disgusted by this act of betrayal by Astaroth disappointed she says to him, "You would betray your own brethren for a god that you do not know a thing about?"

Astaroth straightens himself up, "I did not betray anyone, I was shown the true nature of evil and I followed it and it would suit your best interests if you surrender your services to him and not this petty Lucifer battle that we are all doomed to fail!"

"I can see you are beyond redemption Astaroth, so I will let you go," she stops and turns to look at him, "Well maybe you can explain to them why you betrayed them there!" she sends him back to hell.

"Well, that takes care of that!" she turns her attention to the four, "Well, the odds are stacked against me right now. I will catch up with you all later!" she says to herself and disappears.

Mukura seems adamant and does not want to forgive Genteel for her everything. She moves away from Genteel and makes her way home.
