"Ten days ago, the succession of the crown of Wales was the hot topic. Possible candidates were Marina, the second princess; Tanasia, the first princess; Noschia, the third princess. The late emperor Austin didn't have any sons, so he had to firstly consider his son-in-laws and then consider his daughters.
Ethan, Tanasia's husband was a simple man and wasn't that ambitious, he just wanted to live a simple life but ended up as royalty. Tanasia was a calm and quiet lady who was solely focused on raising her children. They wouldn't want to be distracted by anything else. They agreed and abdicated their right to the throne.
Arskan, Marina's husband was a dignified man who wouldn't cause outsiders any inconvenience but was troublesome to his family. Marina was a religious lady who was keen to acquire religious knowledge. Arskan would become more considerate if chosen and would cause more trouble for his family.
Noschia had no interest whatsoever in state affairs and was only concerned about the well-being of the family. Stephen was almost all the time busy, he had his own business conglomerate to run and wasn't going to back down.
No one was willing, no one from other family branches as well, they all thought it was too much responsibility. The council was at a loss, when someone suggested asking the public. A one time MCQ message was put up on the community groups. The voting resulted in Marina being selected. Austin discussed this issue with Rachel, his wife on what to do. She suggested to consider future heirs as well. Aqua and Luka were being considered but no one properly understood what criteria to check. Finally Aqua was chosen as the future crown princess and Arskan as the crown prince of this generation.
An official coronation was assembled to announce the decision. Arskan and Aqua were called upon. Astella, the only daughter of the first princess was enraged.
"The first born should be the heir!"
She yelled.
Austin said it didn't matter, enraging the little girl even more. She unleashed waves of enchanted flames, causing chaos everywhere. The extremely hot blue flames burnt everything in sight. People were awestruck that a 9-year-old could wield such destructive power. Then astella looked at aqua and unleashed relentless waves of flames towards her in a frenzy. Aqua defended herself with a crystalline ice shield but under the heat and pressure it broke incessantly. Aqua continously remade it but being only 5 years old, her power was unstable and delicate. Austin came infront of her and conjured a more sturdy shield. He was the only male descendent that wielded the glacial ice vein. However, the power was more powerful in the female decendants than in the male ones. The northern fire prowess from a female wielder overpowered the power of the old man. He was determined to protect his grandchild and shielded her, eventhough it meant he would get injured. It was then he saw Luka, the eldest son of tanasia, ushering some people to an exit. He called for him and instructed him to take his cousin away from here.
"But wht abt u?"
Aqua asked as tears welled up in her eyes.
"I trust the people of Islam, they will handle this in a way pleasing to my lord"
with that he handed Aqua to Luka and gave his all to stop his other grandchild. Which caused his death.."
"Were you really there when all this happened dad?!"
Asked a high pitched voice.
"Yes Alex, I was there and I saw the Aqua with my own eyes too"
Replied Theodore
"How did she summon her powers?"
Alex asked his curiosity surging.
"A blue-iridescent glow emitted from her hands as she conjured various crystalline ice objects, I had her show it to me personally too"
Theodore said a bit embarrassed
"Wait dad! Does Aqua have blue hair and blue eyes?!"
Alex asked suddenly as he squirmed in his father's hands.
"Yes son, why do you ask"
Theodore asked wondering what had gotten into the little boy.
"It was her! She helped me fight those kidnappers"
Alex said impatiently. Theodore was lost in thought for a moment, then he chuckled and hugged his sick son
"I want you to get to know how amazing the people of Wales are"
Theodore said with a complex expression.
"Your people never fail to surprise me Arskan, it's always been that way"
Theodore muttered as he tucked his confused son in bed.
