Elena's POV
"There's no way you did that!" Lexie's voice boomed through the hallway, shock radiating from her wide eyes.
Her orange dress trailed behind her as she charged forward, heels clicking rapidly against the floor.
I pulled back from Dorian, shame flooding through me as heat spread across my cheeks.
"...this is...just a misunderstanding," I stammered.
Lexie's mouth twisted with fury. "You fucking bitch! How dare you kiss my husband!"
"That's enough, Lexie," Dorian's voice cut through the tension, ice-cold.
"What?" she snapped back. "That's all you have to say?"
"It's none of your business," Dorian fired back.
"I'm your wife!" Lexie shrieked, her voice breaking with fury.
"Fake wife," he stated bluntly.
Lexie inhaled sharply, her face flushing crimson.
"And oh, Elena knows," Dorian continued, his hand reaching toward my waist.
I tried to move away, but his soft touch made my knees weak. The anguish in Lexie's gaze cut right through me.
