Chapter 1 – The Jobless Genius
The city never bothered noticing me. I liked it that way.
They saw a boy who couldn't hold a job, who tripped over his own backpack, who laughed at nothing and scared teachers with "weird ideas." F-Rank. Jobless. Useless. Perfect label.
"Rocky, your life is a mistake," a bully sneered. "Even the System laughs at you."
I smiled. Inside, I was already calculating—every face, every tone, every little hesitation. They didn't know it, but I had infinite potential hiding behind my F-Rank mask.
Orion, status report, I muttered under my breath.
"Good morning, master Rocky," the AI replied, its voice calm, almost smug. "F-Rank assessment: 0.0001 probability of human comprehension. Social ridicule detected. Probability of intervention? Low."
I smirked. Low probability? That was the point. Let them think I was useless. Let them mock. Let them feel superior. I liked to watch people underestimate chaos wrapped in human skin.
The bell rang. Students scattered. Teachers muttered warnings. I walked slowly, almost lazily, but my mind was racing.
Let's see… accounts with weak passwords. Corrupt merchants in district seven. Lazy government servers. And… oh yes, the bully's bank account.
I pressed my hand against the empty air. In my pocket, a small device hummed. Nothing fancy. Yet, in a few minutes, I would own their digital lives like a puppeteer holding strings.
A voice called out. "Hey, jobless boy, watch where you—"
I turned, smiled sweetly, and nodded. Perfect distraction.
"Oops, sorry!" I said, dropping a small gadget on the floor. It rolled under a locker, emitting a faint pulse. By the time they bent down, I had already accessed a dozen local bank accounts, redirecting micro-funds to charity accounts in the poorest districts of the city.
No one noticed. No one cared. Except Orion.
"Funds transferred. Estimated happiness increase: 14.7%. Human oblivion remains high," it said dryly.
I laughed quietly. 14.7% happiness. Not bad for a morning's work.
Then came the whispers. They never change. "That boy… he's weird. Dangerous. He's nothing but trouble."
They don't know the half of it.
Because being F-Rank doesn't mean being weak. It means they cannot measure what you are capable of.
And I was just getting started.
