Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Proposal

When they returned to the Daming Residence, the residents couldn't help but feel surprised.

Taiwan Novel Network is great for relieving boredom and super practical.

Over the years, Minamikawa Yuu had never shown any interest in women.

Although there were handmaidens around him, most were kept at a distance, and to this day, there were no rumors of anyone ever attending to his bed.

However, no one expected that the Daimyo would bring back a strange woman after this outing.

This couldn't help but surprise those around him.

But upon seeing the woman's appearance, they were stunned once again.

Ōtsutsuki Kaguya—this woman looked different from ordinary women just at a glance, and her beauty was especially outstanding.

Her white hair and white eyes were even more unique in this era.

Standing there, she was like a Goddess, instilling an inexplicable sense of awe.

Among the surrounding attendants, there were even strange rumors that Lady Kaguya was a visitor from the heavens.

If it were such a Goddess, then it seemed only normal for His Highness the Daimyo to be smitten.

However, compared to what ordinary people imagined, Minamikawa Yuu's behavior was even more unexpected.

After the day Ōtsutsuki Kaguya followed him back to the Daming Residence, he began to actively show his devotion.

Calling it "showing devotion" was, in reality, just one word.

Fawning!

He personally delivered three meals every day and would always visit Kaguya's quarters before nightfall.

Not only were his visits frequent, but every move he made strictly followed etiquette, for fear of offending her.

Given his status as the Daimyo of the Land of Ancestors, such actions were so fervent they could be considered humble.

If the person across from him weren't Ōtsutsuki Kaguya, but anyone else in this world, they would likely have been moved by him.

Unsurprisingly, such actions drew the attention and gaze of many.

Many Retainers complained in secret, believing that His Highness the Daimyo had become negligent, neglecting state affairs for a woman, which was truly a blow to the Daimyo's prestige.

But Minamikawa Yuu could do nothing about it.

She was no ordinary mortal.

That was Ōtsutsuki Kaguya.

In this Ninja World, just that name alone was enough to suppress everything.

Not to mention mere state affairs, even if it were something more important, as long as it could win her favor, Minamikawa Yuu would not hesitate to give it up.

Under his enthusiasm, Ōtsutsuki Kaguya's attitude gradually softened.

During their time together, Minamikawa Yuu discovered that Lady Kaguya did not seem to be the cold and heartless person he had imagined, who viewed mortals as mere ants.

She also had her own emotions, though they were relatively detached; and because she didn't understand mortal affairs, she seemed indifferent to many things, like a Goddess high above.

But as long as you were close enough to her, you could also gain her kindness.

Because of her lack of worldly knowledge, this process was not particularly difficult.

In just one month, through Minamikawa Yuu's efforts, their favorability had risen to a certain level.

Under the moonlit night, the Scarlet Flowers bloomed quietly.

At some point, Kaguya looked up at what was before her.

Before her, the young man's figure stood quietly.

His features were handsome, delicate and beautiful, and he possessed an unusual temperament that made him unforgettable at first sight.

At this moment, he lowered his head in deep thought, as if pondering some problem.

"Yuu..."

Looking at the youth, Kaguya murmured, calling out his name.

Seeing no reaction from the youth, she reached out a hand toward him, wanting to caress his face.

But just as she reached out, her hand was caught by another in the next moment.

Looking at the hand reaching toward him, Minamikawa Yuu instinctively grabbed it and held it in his palm.

All of this happened instinctively; it wasn't until he had done it that he realized, and he was instantly startled awake.

Fortunately, Kaguya didn't react much to his action.

She just stood there, her Byakugan quietly gazing at Minamikawa Yuu, without much reaction.

Minamikawa Yuu finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"What are you thinking about?"

Kaguya spoke, "You seem very distressed?"

"Have you run into some trouble?"

"Mm, yes."

Minamikawa Yuu smiled. "There is indeed some trouble that has me a bit distressed."

"Can I help?"

Kaguya took the initiative to speak.

From the beginning until now, this was the first time she had actively expressed her own will.

Minamikawa Yuu felt somewhat gratified; his efforts over the past few months were not entirely without result.

But he still shook his head. "I can handle it."

"Besides, I can't keep troubling you."

He smiled. "As you said yourself, Lady Kaguya, there will come a day when you must leave. If I always rely on your help, what will I do when that day comes?"

"I can take you with me."

Kaguya said, "As long as you are willing."

Hearing this, Minamikawa Yuu felt a sense of comfort in his heart.

The Kaguya before him didn't have many hidden motives.

During their months together, although she hadn't revealed her true purpose, she had told him about her origins from beyond the heavens.

She came from the Ōtsutsuki Clan beyond the heavens and did not belong here; one day, she would leave.

Of course, that was a matter for the future.

After all, relative to the long lifespan of the Ōtsutsuki Clan, Minamikawa Yuu might have already passed away before she ever left.

But for the naturally indifferent Kaguya, being able to say such words was enough to show Minamikawa Yuu's place in her heart.

Time continued to tick away.

At some point half a month later, Minamikawa Yuu summoned his courage and proposed to Kaguya.

For him, this was an extremely risky step.

After all, the person he was proposing to was no mortal, but a visitor from beyond the heavens.

Given the power she possessed, if he were to offend her, even if Minamikawa Yuu were the Daimyo of a nation, his end would still be incredibly miserable.

Had it not been for the foundation laid during their months together, Minamikawa Yuu wouldn't have dared to take this step at all.

Fortunately, Kaguya did not refuse.

On the day he proposed, Kaguya appeared as indifferent as ever.

Facing Minamikawa Yuu's proposal, she acted quite normally, only asking, "If I have to leave one day, are you willing to go with me?"

Although her words were soft and her expression indifferent, Minamikawa Yuu, who knew her well, knew that her attitude was very serious.

So, he smiled too, giving a serious reply: "Naturally, I am willing."

After the words fell, Kaguya looked seriously at the youth before her and finally nodded.

After this day, their relationship entered a brand-new chapter.

Ōtsutsuki Kaguya became Minamikawa Yuu's wife.

In the rumors of the outside world, she was merely a Concubine, but in reality, within Minamikawa Yuu's residence, Ōtsutsuki Kaguya was the only one.

Regarding this situation, people throughout the Land of Ancestors were abuzz with discussion.

Many elder Retainers were distressed and heartbroken.
