Chapter 34 - Chapter 34

Mondstadt.

"You wouldn't actually have fallen for this Takagi, would you?"

Mona looked at Lisa across from her, who was leisurely enjoying her food, and asked curiously.

"I don't deny that I'm quite interested in Takagi."

"After all, mysterious people always attract attention, don't they?"

Lisa laughed.

"That's true; that man is indeed quite intriguing."

"My hydromancy was completely unable to divine anything about him."

Mona said with a slightly troubled expression.

"However, even though there are many things about Takagi that are intriguing and worthy of our attention, it's not like he's so good that you'd fall for him, is it?"

Mona asked curiously.

"Perhaps it's because he helped Mondstadt fend off the dragon disaster. Perhaps he helped Barbara embark on her Path, making Mondstadt even stronger. Perhaps he has the ability to lead more Mondstadt people out of Teyvat. So, I guess I developed a little bit of affection for him."

Lisa shrugged and said casually.

Mona: "Are you serious? I thought you were just saying that casually on the forum."

Lisa smiled and said:

"It was just a casual remark, but that doesn't mean I'll never fall for Takagi. After all these years, he's the only man I've ever wanted to investigate. Isn't there a saying that when a woman becomes curious about a man, it could be the beginning of a relationship?"

Mona: "Undeniably. However, I don't think someone as rational as you would believe such a thing."

"Who knows?" Lisa smiled slightly as she looked at Natasha on the live stream screen.

"Or perhaps I was too concerned about the woman holding hands with Takagi, which is why I said those things."

Lisa said.

"This woman named Natasha? Speaking of which, your voices do sound quite alike. That's really a strange thing," Mona said.

Lisa smiled casually and refocused her attention on Takagi.

'If you ask too much for knowledge of the Teyvat gods, you need to carefully consider whether you can afford the corresponding price. The practice of Sumeru yearning for knowledge of the World Tree is absolutely unacceptable.'

The same applies to the knowledge contained in the Vision; the Vision grants mortals the power to change their lives, but the price remains unknown.

'Compared to the knowledge behind the World Tree and the Vision, the knowledge from outside the universe that Takagi can access here seems much safer. Takagi seems trustworthy as well. The power of the Path also has many amazing aspects. Through destiny and knowledge of the universe, perhaps I can truly uncover the truth behind the Vision and the World Tree.'

Lisa murmured to herself, recalling her conversation with Takagi when she led him on a tour of Mondstadt.

Lisa: "Takagi, why do you want to lead the people of Teyvat to see the universe outside? Someone like you probably doesn't need Teyvat's Mora."

Takagi: "It seems Miss Lisa is quite worried about my intentions. Don't worry, I have no ill intentions towards Teyvat. Being a tour guide is just something I'm interested in."

Lisa: "Is that all?"

Takagi: "Of course not. I also look forward to seeing what the people of Teyvat will be like after they embark on their Path."

Lisa: "And what's the reason for this?"

Takagi smiled mysteriously and said:

"The continent of Teyvat is surrounded by a false sky, and the people have no idea what the real starry sky is. It's such a pity."

Lisa: "A false sky?"

Upon suddenly hearing such a term she had never heard before, Lisa's beautiful brows furrowed tightly.

Lisa: "You mean the starry sky we usually see is an illusion?"

Takagi nodded slightly and said:

"That's right! Although the False Sky can be considered a form of protection for Teyvat, in my opinion, this protection is far too weak."

Takagi raised his head and looked up at the sky. His eyes seemed to see through the clouds, through the path of the sky, and straight to the false sky surrounding Teyvat.

"This protection is simply no match for threats from the universe. Let alone a galaxy-level threat, even a planet-level threat, Teyvat probably couldn't withstand it. The reason Teyvat is still safe is simply because Teyvat is remote enough in the universe. Moreover, the false sky has a certain function of concealment."

"However, the false sky will not last forever, and the threats in the universe will eventually set their sights on the continent of Teyvat. At that time, the people of Teyvat will not be able to fight against those threats with just a Vision. Even the Seven Archons would be powerless in the face of threats from the universe. So I think that letting the people of Teyvat access the power to break free from their fate before the crisis arrives might be a good idea," Takagi said.
