Chapter 11 - "The Arrival of Assassin Wu Liuqi (Scissor Seven)"

"I've spent the last two days with my sister. I've finally said everything I've wanted to say all these years but never could."

Recalling the happy moments of the past couple of days, Elsa couldn't help but smile faintly.

"…"

Sam blinked, stunned. "Wait a second… you said you spent two days with your sister?"

"That's right!"

Elsa blinked those big, innocent eyes. "What's wrong with that?"

"But… it's only been one night on my end!" Sam protested.

⊙(?◇?)??

He remembered clearly—it was just last night he got blackmailed by the Ultra-Dimensional Mercenary Guild.

Elsa:

"∑(?Д?ノ)!!!"

"Really?"

"Of course. Why would I lie?" Sam said.

Elsa froze. She had never experienced anything this bizarre before.

Robin explained calmly, "Time flows differently in every world. It's normal."

"So… does that mean it's going to be hard for me, the guild leader, to communicate with the members?" Sam asked, concerned.

"Not at all," Robin replied. "When members are on a mercenary mission with the Ultra-Dimensional Mercenary Guild—or just in the guild itself—the flow of time can be temporarily adjusted by the guild or the dimension itself."

"Sometimes, if you really need it, you can even pay Dimensional Coins to return to your own world at the exact moment you left it."

"And, of course, you can upgrade the guild to synchronize the time flow across connected worlds."

Elsa tilted her head. "…Uh… okay?"

She didn't fully understand, but it sounded pretty impressive.

Sam couldn't help but give a thumbs-up. That's some next-level gameplay.

Time was basically a toy you could mess with—insane.

Elsa hesitated, then asked, "Um… Guild Leader… can I still see my future?"

"Of course," Sam said, and pulled up Frozen, clicking play.

"I haven't paid yet~" Elsa reminded him.

"No worries," Sam waved dismissively. "The first five minutes are free. After that, it'll cost you."

Honestly, this Ultra-Dimensional Guild was smart. Once Elsa saw the first five minutes, she'd be hooked—and who wouldn't pay for the rest?

Well… in her case, it was only three Dimensional Coins because her story was short.

Short?

Yeah… compared to the sagas of Kurama and Feng Baobao, it was definitely short.

"Phew~"

After watching Frozen, Elsa let out a deep sigh.

It turned out, even though she had some regrets about her parents, everything after that went surprisingly well.

And sitting beside her was Sam.

He had watched it all with her, even providing snacks—though he was probably the only one who could eat them. Elsa couldn't take her eyes off the screen; it was her future, after all.

"Relax," Sam said, noticing her frown. "You're watching your original future, but now you're part of the Ultra-Dimensional Guild. Your fate's already a mess."

"So… you mean… I don't really have a future anymore?"

Σ(っД;)っ

Elsa's face paled. No future? That sounded terrifying.

"Exactly. Now your future is something you have to make yourself," Sam said, giving another thumbs-up.

If only his teeth weren't so… normal, they'd practically shine from that smile.

"Are you sick or something?" Feng Baobao walked in at the worst possible moment and laughed at Sam's exaggerated gesture.

"…Hey! I'm trying to encourage her!" Sam groaned, rolling his eyes. People really don't appreciate kindness.

"Welcome, Assassin Wu Liuqi (Scissor Seven), to the Ultra-Dimensional Mercenary Guild!"

Just then, the guild's automated welcome announcement sounded.

Feng Baobao? She was catching up on Yi Ren Zhi Xia, still halfway through.

"Ohhh, what's going on here?"

A boy with his hair tied in three spiky tufts walked in, looking utterly confused.

"I was just setting up my food cart to sell beef offal, and now… I'm here?"

Sam squinted. Wait… isn't this the Wu Liuqi ranked 17,369th on the Assassin List? The one famous for… cutting air bangs?

"Welcome to the Ultra-Dimensional Mercenary Guild," Sam said, smiling and offering his hand. "I'm Sam, the guild leader."

"Guiiiild… Leeeader?"

Wu Liuqi stretched the words out. "You mean… the legendary… guild leader of… that place?"

"Huh… you're a boy, right? Is it really okay for you to come here?"

Sam stared blankly. What even…?

Wu Liuqi was confused too. Over on his side, it was early morning. He had been pushing his food cart to Ruo Zhi Elementary School, hoping to make some cash, fix his brain in Stan Country, and regain his memory.

But in the blink of an eye, he was here in the guild.

"This is a guild leader, not a… club leader!"

Sam groaned, black veins popping on his forehead. He almost had to slap Wu Liuqi to get through to him.

Look around! Do you see the people here? This isn't the kind of place you think it is!

"Careful, or I'll call the cops!"

Well… technically, it was just him and two stunning girls, Feng Baobao and Elsa.

Hmmm… The Nine-Tails and Kurama don't count—they're foxes anyway.
