Vic's arms were like warm chains, firmly imprisoning Wednesday and Enid at his sides.
In the darkness, the vibration from his chest carried a muffled laugh, like a bear that had stolen honey.
"So—"
He dragged out his tone. His gaze landed first on Enid's crimson face. His fingertips gently pinched her soft waist, eliciting a light tremble from her.
"Does Miss Accomplice, who attempted to destroy evidence, have any appeal to make?"
Touched by him, Enid went soft as if her pressure points had been hit. Her voice was sticky as she begged for mercy:
"I was wroooong... Vic, you're the best. Interest... can the interest be cheaper?"
"Oh?" Vic raised an eyebrow, leaning close with a wicked grin, his nose almost brushing hers. "That depends on your performance."
Before his voice faded, he lowered his head quickly and planted a loud yet gentle kiss on Enid's smooth forehead.
"That's the basic interest."
He straightened up, announcing smugly as he watched Enid's blue eyes go wide and the blush spread rapidly to her neck.
Enid covered her forehead, feeling like a small flame had been lit where he kissed. Her heart bubbled with sweetness, but she complained coquettishly:
"Hey! Sneak attack! Doesn't count, doesn't count!"
"Objection overruled."
Vic rejected her protest with a smile, then turned his gaze to the silently observing Wednesday on the other side. His tone carried a greater challenge.
"And now, Miss Wednesday? Lady Principal Offender. Attempting to destroy core evidence adds to the crime. You aren't thinking of reneging, are you? Hmm?"
Wednesday took a deep breath, lifting her lashes. Her pitch-black eyes met Vic's teasing gaze. She knew she couldn't dodge this.
"One." Her cool voice was decisive. "Only one kiss."
Vic's peach-blossom eyes shone alarmingly bright, yet he put on a reluctant expression:
"One? Isn't that interest rate too low? Considering the heinous nature of the act..."
"One."
Wednesday repeated. Her tone left no room for negotiation, her eyes saying "Say more and you sleep on the floor."
"Fine, one it is!"
Vic quit while he was ahead, but immediately added a condition. "Location and method are up to me!"
Wednesday narrowed her eyes, tacitly agreeing.
Vic released Enid and cupped Wednesday's cheeks with both hands. Her skin was cool, like fine porcelain.
Wednesday didn't dodge. She was as still as a deep pool.
Vic approached slowly, but at the very last moment, he deviated from the trajectory and placed a kiss, light as a feather, on her forehead.
Wednesday froze, her eyelashes trembling slightly. The lingering warmth on her forehead made something inside her soften slightly.
Vic lifted his head, grinning smugly and revealing his sharp little canine teeth: "Location: Forehead. Method: Pure Goodnight Kiss. Principal interest collected!"
Wednesday snapped back to reality. Seeing his smug face, that touch of softness instantly turned into an urge to kick him off the bed. She huffed coldly and turned her face away.
"Hey, hey, Mr. Creditor,"
The "neglected" Enid wasn't having it. She tugged at Vic's sleeve, her blue eyes flashing with unconvinced, coquettish light.
"Where's my interest? You're sending me off with just the basic model? I want a special edition too!"
She pouted deliberately, pointing at her own lips, her eyes challenging him.
Vic was amused, and even Wednesday couldn't help but glance over sideways.
"Yo, getting competitive now?"
Vic smiled even more wickedly. He scooped Enid back into his arms, his fingers gently lifting her chin.
"Fine, I'll give you the Deluxe Upgraded Version!"
He lowered his head. This time the target was clear. He precisely captured Enid's soft, cool lips.
Not a kiss that stopped at a touch, but one with gentle yet unquestionable force. Grinding carefully, exploring deeply, until Enid whimpered and went limp in his arms, her cheeks red as ripe fruit.
Vic had a strong capacity for learning. This kiss was a 1:1 replica of Wednesday's.
"This is VIP Exclusive Interest. Satisfied?"
Vic released her, his breathing slightly chaotic. He looked at Enid, whose eyes were misty, and asked in a low, husky voice.
Enid couldn't speak. She only buried her burning face in his neck and nodded, her heart beating like a war drum.
"Hmph."
A barely audible snort came from Wednesday beside them, but Vic caught it keenly.
He turned his head and found that although Wednesday was still looking away, the blush at the base of her ears seemed deeper.
Vic had a sudden thought. He leaned down abruptly, and with lightning speed, pecked Wednesday's slightly pursed, pale lips!
Like a dragonfly skimming the water—touch and go.
Wednesday stiffened violently and whipped her head around.
Her pale cheeks were dyed with a thin red at a speed visible to the naked eye.
"Victor Black! You..."
She couldn't finish her sentence.
"Additional Interest!"
Vic announced preemptively, facing her murderous gaze with self-righteousness.
"Punishment for the Principal Offender attempting to disrupt the financial market order—namely, the interest rules set by this Creditor! Fair and just, no deception!"
With that, fearing Wednesday might actually go berserk, he immediately tightened his arms, circling both girls firmly. He lay back down quickly, closed his eyes, and announced loudly:
"Today's debt settlement complete! Sleep!"
Enid giggled foolishly on the other side, inexplicably excited and balanced by Vic's boldness and Wednesday's defeat.
Wednesday struggled a bit, but Vic held on deathly tight. She finally gave up and huffed again, defaulting to this "unfair" additional clause. She closed her eyes too, but the corner of her mouth seemed to curve up almost imperceptibly.
The dorm returned to tranquility, leaving only the sound of three gradually synchronizing breaths and heartbeats.
Vic closed his eyes, a satisfied arc on his lips.
The gloom of Willow Hill and the exhaustion of zombie training were all driven away by the warmth in his arms.
As for that additional lip kiss...
Hmm, just suddenly felt that financial market order really needed maintaining. Definitely not because I saw Wednesday's ears turn red! I, Victor Black, am a Creditor of principles!
Of course, regarding principles... the methods of maintenance can be flexible.
The night grew deeper as the three slept in an embrace.
---
Morning light filtered through the stained glass, casting colorful but cold spots on the dorm floor.
Vic rubbed his sleepy eyes and sat up on the spliced "Super Bed." He habitually felt left and right—empty.
"What the..."
He mumbled, his voice carrying the huskiness of waking up and thick dissatisfaction.
"Don't even wake your boyfriend up? Too unkind! Where's my morning kiss? Who do I ask for it?"
No one responded.
There was only the sound of his own breathing in the room.
Vic scratched his messy black hair resentfully. Shoulders drooping, he groggily slipped on his shoes and walked toward the bathroom with his head down.
Click. The bathroom door was pushed open.
Vic, eyes still bleary with sleep and not looking where he was going, habitually stepped inside.
He collided headfirst with a patch of... furry, warm stuff.
The texture is wrong.
Vic's chaotic brain turned sluggishly.
The bathroom towels aren't this thick, nor do they have... body temperature?
He looked up subconsciously.
He met a pair of giant, amber, vertical pupils belonging to a beast.
A grey werewolf, large enough to fill half the bathroom, was looking down at him.
The wolf's snout parted slightly, revealing sharp white fangs. Wet, hot breath sprayed onto Vic's face.
Time seemed to freeze for a second.
Seeing Vic lock eyes with it, the werewolf's amber pupils constricted violently into dangerous slits. A suppressed growl rumbled in its throat.
Its hind leg muscles tensed. The giant wolf mouth snapped open with lightning speed, carrying a scent of raw wind, and lunged precisely and viciously at Vic's most vulnerable jugular vein!
