"Not exactly, but mostly. Except for checking every day to see if it had disappeared." Borgin finished, then asked curiously: "I heard you appeared at the Ministry of Magic a few days ago."
Howl had walked openly into the Ministry of Magic at the time, and many people had witnessed it firsthand.
Although such a thing wouldn't make it into the newspapers, his distinctive appearance and the fact that he seemed to be from Hogwarts made it a topic of conversation in many pubs.
Howl nodded: "Just a minor inconvenience."
Just a minor inconvenience… Borgin felt a bit sheepish. If it was just dealing with the Ministry of Magic's inquiries or arrests, then it truly was just a minor inconvenience.
But if he was already in shackles and sent to the Ministry of Magic… and it was still a minor inconvenience… "What about that… Deputy Minister's Curse incident at the Ministry of Magic?" Borgin asked uncertainly.
"You're well-informed, it seems." Howl glanced at him: "What's the Ministry of Magic's explanation for this?"
Borgin already knew the answer, then shook his head repeatedly: "I don't know either, I just heard that Scrimgeour is now targeting a number of ancient Wizarding families, launching an unprecedented raid."
Immediately after, he quickly changed the subject: "Two months ago, a bunch of people tried to contact me to sell Dark Arts items hidden in their homes.
But I wasn't there, and I don't know where they ended up hiding their things. Anyway, it's a fact that many Dark Arts items have appeared on the market recently.
I heard Mundungus also wanted to get in on the action, to deal in Dark Arts items, and even borrowed a lot of money for startup capital. But the first item he acquired broke his hand!"
"Mundungus…"
Howl immediately thought of that cowering, petty man.
Regarding his misfortune, Howl could only say… he deserved it.
More than twenty minutes later, as the group continued forward, they had now arrived at a secluded, dark forest.
Mist began to appear, visibility gradually decreased, and the surrounding humidity increased.
"Uncle Howl, where are we going?" Harry couldn't hold back his curiosity.
"I don't know either, but… Borgin suspects it's Avalon."
"Avalon?!" Harry was startled, various pieces of knowledge he had read constantly circulating in his mind.
Avalon is the name of the paradise in Welsh mythology.
It is also known as the "Isle of the Blessed" or the "Isle of the Fortunate." Legend says it is the afterlife and the land beyond, a mysterious paradise in the otherworld, guarded by nine magical fairies.
"Does Avalon really exist?" Harry exclaimed.
"No one knows, that's why we're going to see." Howl smiled, not as surprised as Harry.
He was more curious about it.
"I'm just guessing. The historical descriptions of Avalon are too scarce. But it certainly existed once." Borgin preemptively set the stage for himself, in case it wasn't Avalon, he couldn't be blamed.
"It appeared suddenly, and so did all this surrounding mist. If you barge in headfirst, you'll be sent back before long." Borgin explained, pulling a piece of broken stone from his pocket.
Green moss and some broken vines clung to the stone.
"This is from a Green Knight I encountered the first time I went in. I knocked it off him."
With that, Borgin drew his wand and aimed it at the stone.
"Point Me—"
The next moment, the stone slowly floated up and flew directly to the left… He gave an embarrassed laugh: "It's very easy to get directions mixed up, isn't it?"
Howl felt the mist that could block perception and nodded: "Indeed."
This place was truly abnormal.
Following the floating stone for a long time, the group soon felt a cool breeze.
However, at this moment, shadows blocked their path. The mist gradually dispersed, revealing stone knights, covered in moss, appearing verdant.
"Are these the legendary Green Knights who guard Avalon for the nine Lake Fairies?"
"That's right." Borgin nodded, stepped forward, and waved his wand. But he could only knock the stone statues away.
They had protective magic on them, and even if shattered, they would quickly regenerate.
With that, Borgin put the stone he had taken from the Green Knight back into his pocket. Then he quickly knocked away or bound an entire group of knights.
