"What is it?" Marsel asked when Grey looked hesitant.
"Nothing, it's just that I've never done this before," Grey said. But even as the words left his mouth, he knew they didn't cover the whole truth behind his hesitation.
He was fully aware of the effect Marsel was having on him in that moment, and he refused to acknowledge it even to himself.
He forced himself to move closer, closing the small distance between them, and leaned in. The tips of his fangs and his lips hovered just above Marsel's shoulder.
He felt the faint tremor that ran through Marsel at the near contac, but Grey ignored the reaction and pressed his fangs closer. But just as they were about to dig into his skin, the door was flung open with force.
In the doorway stood Lord Jethro.
Grey didn't need to turn to know that it was him. He could feel him, Jethro's presence poured into the room, thick and overwhelming, consuming every corner of his awareness.
