"That aside," Lord Jethro said suddenly, the words forcing themselves out of his mouth before he had time to think them through, "There is a program I have been planning for almost my whole life, and I think I've delayed it long enough. Now feels like the right time."
Anticipation spread across the room instantly. Every Alpha straightened, attention sharpening. And for the first time since the meeting began, Grey looked at him.
That single glance almost made Lord Jethro lose the rest of what he had intended to say, but he forced himself to continue.
"I want to build rescue centers for children," he said.
"Centers meant for children living in toxic families. We live up here, and most of the time we're not even aware of how many children are suffering in places we never see. If every pack had one, we would be able to rescue many of them."
Several of the Alphas visibly brightened. Murmurs spread across the room.
"That's actually a very good program, my Lord," one of them said.
