Bella's POV
The custody documents stared back at me from the mahogany table, their pristine white pages hiding the poison within their typed lines. My hands trembled slightly as I gripped the edge of my chair, watching Vesta settle across from me like a predator who had finally cornered her prey.
She looked immaculate as always, her platinum blonde hair swept into a perfect chignon, designer suit pressed to perfection. Her crimson manicured fingers drummed against the leather folder containing my nightmare as she spoke with the casual tone of someone discussing dinner plans.
"The terms are straightforward," she said, her voice honey-sweet with underlying venom. "Your signature transfers all parental rights and custody to me. The child returns to his rightful place, and you can stop this charade of playing mother."
