Chapter 15 - The First Strike

The silence of space was broken by the low hum of the Galactian warship's engines. It descended toward the

planet like a predator closing in on its prey. Onboard, the Galactian soldiers checked their weapons, their faces

cold and expressionless.

"Target confirmed," the general said, his eyes narrowing. "No survivors. Begin the operation."

On the planet's surface, chaos reigned. The heroes tried to organize evacuation, shielding civilians with energy

barriers and fighting off the Galactian troops as they landed. But every move seemed to be anticipated, every

attack countered with ruthless precision.

Kai, watching through the connection his sister had given him, felt his chest tighten. He saw familiar faces

among the defenders — friends and family who had trained for this, ready to protect their world. And yet… even

their courage could not stop the unstoppable.

The first shots rang out, bright and explosive against the dark sky. Buildings collapsed instantly under heavy

plasma fire. Streets cracked and buckled. Heroes fought valiantly, their blades slicing through the enemy, but

the soldiers were relentless, moving like a single, coordinated entity.

Kai's eyes widened as he saw the figure of his father in the middle of the battlefield, directing civilians to

safety. But before he could react, a Galactian soldier struck, and his father fell, his sword clattering to the

ground. Pain and grief surged in Kai's chest, making him choke on a scream that didn't escape his lips.

"Father!" Kai gasped, clutching his sister's hand tighter.

"Stay with me, Kai," she whispered urgently. "I can't save them all… not yet. You have to live. You have to see

the bigger picture."

Kai's vision blurred with tears as explosions rocked the city. Friends he had grown up with, people who had

trained alongside him and his family, were falling one by one. Their efforts, though brave, were no match for the

Galactians' overwhelming power.

From above, the first Galactian warship unleashed a wave of destruction, wiping out entire neighborhoods

in seconds. Smoke and fire turned the streets into rivers of molten chaos.

Kai's sister squeezed his hand again. "Remember this. Remember the pain. Let it make you strong. This is why

we must survive… so one day we can fight back."

In the distance, a small group of remaining heroes tried to regroup, but the warship hovered like a dark sun, its

shadow consuming everything below. Kai's heart ached as he saw the planet's hope fading.

The final image burned into his mind: his father's last look, brave yet helpless, his friends' struggles cut short,

and the unstoppable force of the Galactians moving across the planet with mechanical precision.

Kai whispered to himself, "I… I will be ready. I will fight."

And somewhere, deep within him, a spark ignited — a determination born from loss, fear, and the

unbreakable bond with his sister, a spark that would one day fuel him to stand against even the greatest of

threats.
