Chapter 111 - Chapter 110 – Certificates & Stalkers

POV: Jay

Hex was still pretending.

Still lying.

Still acting like he had two left feet.

He was sitting next to Mila explaining dramatically how he "cannot spin properly."

I slowly pulled out my phone.

Turned toward him.

"Are you sure you can't dance?"

He didn't even look at me.

"Yes. I can't even spin well."

"Okay," I said quickly.

Too quickly.

He narrowed his eyes. "Why did you say that fast?"

"Nothing."

He went back to talking to Mila.

At that exact moment…

My phone buzzed.

Leo had sent it.

Perfect timing.

I stood up.

Cleared my throat loudly.

"CROWD FAVORITE AWARD."

The entire room went quiet.

Everyone turned to look at me.

Hex froze.

"Jayjay," he warned.

I ignored him and read clearly.

"Certificate of Recognition. This certificate is proudly presented to Charles Navarro for capturing the hearts of the audience through outstanding stage presence, passion, and exceptional dance performance. Your energy, confidence, and artistry have made you the true Crowd Favorite."

Silence.

Then whispers.

"Charles?" Drew muttered.

"Navarro?" Rory repeated.

Blaster leaned forward. "Crowd favorite?"

David looked at Hex calmly. "You?"

Felix raised an eyebrow.

Yuri folded his arms tighter.

I continued.

"Awarded this day in recognition of your remarkable achievement."

Everyone slowly turned to Hex.

Hex stood up.

"I'm going to the washroom."

Mila grabbed his wrist before he could escape.

"Wait."

I lifted my phone again.

"CERTIFICATE 2. JUNIOR DANCE CHAMPION."

Gasps.

"This is to certify that Charles Navarro has been awarded the title of Junior Dance Champion in recognition of extraordinary talent, discipline, and excellence in dance performance."

Denzel blinked. "Champion?"

Edrix looked interested now.

Rory leaned closer.

Ci-N squinted. "Discipline? Him?"

I kept going.

"Your dedication and skill have set you apart as a true champion."

Hex stared at me like betrayal had a face.

"Where did you get that?" he demanded.

I smiled sweetly.

"CERTIFICATE 3. YOUTH CULTURAL DANCE AWARD."

Now everyone was whispering loudly.

"Cultural dance?" Mayo said.

"No way," Josh added.

"Presented to Charles Navarro for excellence in cultural dance performance and for proudly representing youth artistry in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts."

Edrix looked impressed. "That's official."

Rory nodded. "That's government-level."

I finished calmly.

"Leo sent it to me."

Hex blinked. "Why?"

"Because you have to perform."

He swallowed.

"The certificate… is… fake."

I tilted my head.

"Is it?"

He looked slightly scared.

"Yeeesss. It's fake."

Ci-N burst out laughing. "You can't lie."

Drew crossed his arms. "Bro has awards."

Blaster pointed dramatically. "DANCE KING."

Mila looked at him.

"So you can dance?"

"That was four years ago," Hex said weakly.

I lifted my phone again.

"I think I should continue—"

"Actually," he corrected quickly, "six years ago."

The boys started talking over each other.

"He doesn't even remember," Denzel said.

"That means it's real," David added calmly.

I turned to Keifer.

"Do you want to see this on my phone?"

"Okay fine!" Hex exploded. "I've been dancing since 2020. My last competition was a year ago."

Silence.

I lowered my phone.

"Now you're talking."

He glared at me.

I placed my phone down on the table.

Mila smiled.

"So you will dance?"

He sighed dramatically.

"Of course."

Then he turned to me, annoyed.

"You didn't have to reveal everything."

I waved at him dismissively.

He and Mila moved to the center of the room.

Music started.

And to my surprise?

Mila could dance.

Really well.

Sharp movements. Clean spins. Perfect timing.

Even Yuri nodded once in approval.

Hex adjusted quickly.

He matched her rhythm.

Balanced.

Confident.

Fluid.

The room went quiet.

Blaster whispered, "Okay… that's illegal."

Drew said softly, "I lost a bet I didn't even place."

Felix smiled faintly.

Keifer watched carefully.

And I?

I smirked.

Time for phase two.

I sat down quietly.

Pulled out my second phone.

The Luna Byte phone.

I typed.

Luna Byte:

Hi baby.

I placed my phone face down.

Keifer's phone buzzed instantly.

He looked irritated.

I stood up casually.

"I'm going to talk to Aunty Katherine."

I walked to the dining table.

Aunty Katherine was already smiling suspiciously.

I picked up her phone.

Typed again.

Luna Byte:

Missed me?

Keifer glanced at his screen.

Jaw tightened.

He typed back.

Keifer:

Who is this.

I bit my lip to stop laughing.

Luna Byte:

Your future.

He replied immediately.

Keifer:

Wrong number.

I typed fast.

Luna Byte:

No. Right person. Wrong attitude.

Aunty Katherine covered her mouth, trying not to laugh.

She whispered, "They don't know yet, do they?"

"Nope," I whispered back.

Keifer typed again.

Keifer:

Stop texting me.

I sent a heart emoji.

❤️

He exhaled sharply.

Luna Byte:

Miss me?

Keifer's eyebrows shot up. He stared at the screen for a moment,

Keifer:

How did you get my number?

Ahhh, jackpot. He was finally acknowledging me. I could practically feel the smug energy building.

Luna Byte:

A magician never reveals her secrets 🪄✨

He rolled his eyes, but I could see him trying not to Shout

Keifer:

I knew it… but still… who are you?

Luna Byte:

You don't know yet… but you will. And maybe… you already do 😏

Keifer's jaw tensed. His fingers hovered again, typing carefully.

Keifer:

If this is some joke, I swear…

Luna Byte:

It's no joke… just… testing your patience 😈

He paused. Shook his head. Typed slowly.

Keifer:

You're Luna Byte.

Boom. He knew. My smirk widened.

Luna Byte:

Bingo 😎

Keifer:

How do you have my number?

Luna Byte:

Oh… maybe I'm more resourceful than you thought 😏

He squinted. Very suspicious now.

Keifer:

Don't tell me you… hacked my contacts?

Luna Byte:

Maybe I did. Maybe I didn't. Keep guessing 😉

He let out a frustrated sigh. Ran his hand through his hair.

Keifer:

This is… insane.

Luna Byte:

Insane in the best way 😘

Keifer:

Stop sending emojis.

Luna Byte:

But baby, they express my feelings better than words 😏💖

I could practically see him groaning. His phone buzzed again. I wasn't done.

Luna Byte:

So… are you thinking about me yet? Or still plotting revenge for me texting you? 😈

Keifer:

…thinking about you? No.

Luna Byte:

Then why is your heart racing? 💓

Keifer froze. Stared at his screen.

Keifer:

Heart? What heart?

Luna Byte:

The one that's totally flustered by me, obviously 😏

He groaned. Ran both hands through his hair.

Keifer:

This is ridiculous. Stop teasing me.

Luna Byte:

Never. Teasing is my cardio 🫣

Keifer's fingers hovered. He typed slowly.

Keifer:

Fine. But if I catch you…

Luna Byte:

Catch me? Baby, you'll never catch me 😏💨

I leaned back and giggled silently. Hex was sprawled on the couch, Mila twirling nearby, completely unaware. The boys were whispering about Hex's hidden talent. Keifer, however, was now entirely focused on my phone, trying to read between my lines.

Keifer:

One more emoji… and I swear…

Luna Byte:

💖💖💖💖💖

Keifer groaned so loudly it probably shook the house.

Keifer:

I hate you.

Luna Byte:

Love you too 😏

Then turned to Edrix.

"Bro. Help me block this number. I tried."

Edrix leaned over.

"Bro… you have a stalker."

I turned dramatically.

"Really? Let me see."

Keifer quickly hid his phone.

"It's nothing. Don't mind him."

He handed his phone to Edrix.

"Just block it."

I turned back to Aunty Katherine.

Typed again.

Luna Byte:

Baby you can't block me. So stop trying okay.

Edrix's eyes widened.

"Damn."

"Keifer," he said urgently, "see this."

Keifer walked over.

Read it.

His jaw tightened.

He grabbed his phone like he was about to throw it.

I typed quickly.

Luna Byte:

Don't throw.

He froze.

Slowly looked around the room.

Yuri noticed.

"What's wrong?" Yuri asked calmly.

"Nothing," Keifer said quickly.

He sat down.

Ran his hand through his hair.

Frustrated.

"Stop teasing the boy," she whispered, shaking her head.

I glanced at her, innocently:

"Okay, ma'am 😇"

Then quickly typed another one.

Luna Byte:

By the way… can't wait to see you tonight . Don't be late 😏

Keifer flinched. Muted groan.

Keifer:

You're impossible.

Luna Byte:

I know 😘

He huffed and buried his face in his hands, while I smiled like I had just won a tiny, ridiculous victory.

Luna Byte:

Relax. I'm watching you.

Keifer immediately scanned the room.

Our eyes almost met.

I looked away casually.

Hex and Mila were still dancing.

Section E whispering.

Keifer stressed.

And me?

Very entertained.

This week is going to be unforgettable.
