Chapter 5 - Chapter 4: Sparks and Windows

Jayjay POV

I was halfway through sweeping when I heard the slow click of Keifer's shoes against the floor.

He leaned against the lockers, dark jacket pulled low, eyes fixed on me.

"You're making a mess," he said casually.

I raised an eyebrow, broom in hand. "I'm cleaning. Which part of 'sweep' looks like a mess to you?"

His lips twitched. "You're too loud."

I smirked. "And you're too boring. That's why everyone stares at you like a statue."

His gaze sharpened. "You have a lot of nerve, new girl."

"And you have a lot of attitude, Mr. President," I shot back, voice low. "Too bad your face doesn't match your brain."

The corner of his mouth lifted slightly. "Oh, I think it does."

"Really?" I said, stepping closer, broom pointed like a wand. "Because all I see is someone who thinks a lollipops gives him authority. News flash: it doesn't."

He laughed quietly—dangerously. "You're fearless."

"I'm alive. That's all that matters," I replied.

We stopped mid-step, just staring at each other. Eyes locked. Tension thick enough to cut through the air.

And then… a voice from outside shattered it.

"Ohhh! You two look like husband and wife"

I turned sharply to see Felix leaning through the window, grinning wildly.

Keifer's eyes narrowed. "Shut up."

I couldn't help laughing. The tension broke just enough for me to shake my head. "This is Section E?" I muttered. "I thought it was just one tyrant."

Felix waved enthusiastically. "You're both adorable! Like real-life married couple vibes!"

Keifer shot me a glare that could freeze water. I smirked back, enjoying it.

"Seriously," I said, turning back to him. "If you want to challenge me, at least don't have your friend broadcast it to the entire school."

His jaw tightened. "This isn't over."

I shrugged. "Good. I like unfinished business."

Felix leaned back out of the window, still grinning. "I'll be watching, you two lovebirds!"

And just like that, I realized one thing:

Section E was going to be more entertaining than I ever imagined.
