HIS POV:
The body was still warm when they found it.
Blood stained the cold concrete of the warehouse street, shining under the weak streetlight. Police sirens were far away, but the real danger had already arrived.
Black cars stood silently at the corner of the road.
Men in dark clothes surrounded the scene.
Adrian De Luca stood near the body, his face cold and unreadable, hands in the pockets of his coat.
"Clean it," he said calmly.
His men moved quickly, covering the blood, dragging the body away like it was nothing more than trash.
"This was supposed to be quiet," Adrian continued, his voice low. "So tell me… how did this turn messy?"
One of his men, Marco, stepped forward nervously. "Sir… there may be a problem."
Adrian's eyes slowly lifted to him. "Speak."
"There's a CCTV camera across the street. It's old, but still working."
Adrian's jaw tightened slightly. "Did it capture us?"
Marco shook his head. "No faces. The angle is bad. But… it shows a girl walking nearby just before the shooting."
Adrian's eyes darkened.
"A girl?" he repeated.
"Yes, sir. She didn't come close, but she was on the street at that time."
Adrian turned toward the building where the camera was fixed. His expression didn't change, but something dangerous flashed in his eyes.
"Get the footage," he ordered. "Now."
Minutes later, a tablet was placed in his hand.
The video was unclear, grainy, and shaky.
But it showed enough.
A small figure. A girl. Walking. Then suddenly stopping.
Then quickly leaving.
Adrian stared at the screen.
"Pause," he said.
The man obeyed.
"She heard the shot," Adrian said quietly. "Which means she saw something."
Marco swallowed. "But she didn't come near, sir. Maybe she didn't notice—"
Adrian's gaze snapped to him.
"Don't be stupid," he said coldly. "No one stands still after hearing a gunshot unless they saw more."
Silence fell around them.
Another man stepped forward. "Sir, we also checked phone signals near the street at that time. Only one unknown mobile device stayed active for more than a minute near the warehouse."
Adrian slowly looked at him. "Can you trace it?"
"Not yet. But we can track the area. She probably lives nearby."
Adrian's lips curved into a slow, dangerous smile.
"So we have a witness," he said. "And my enemies will want her too."
Marco looked worried. "Rico Moretti will use her to start a war."
Adrian's eyes turned deadly.
"No one touches what's mine to handle," he said.
The men straightened.
"Find her," Adrian ordered. "Before anyone else does."
"Yes, sir."
"I want her alive," he added after a second. "If she talks to the police or our rivals, everything becomes complicated."
Marco nodded. "What if she already has proof?"
Adrian's fingers tightened slightly.
"Then we take it from her," he said. "And make sure she never opens her mouth again."
The men nodded and moved to follow his command.
But Adrian stayed where he was, staring at the empty street where the girl had walked away.
He didn't know her face.He didn't know her name.
But he knew one thing.
She had just become the most dangerous person in his city.
And he would find her.
No matter what it took.
