Chapter 5 - Chapter Five Implant of Festus

Chapter Five: Implant of Festus In the early morning at the fertility clinic the air is filled with blemish and antiseptic scent . I can't really tell what made Victorine and Juliana nervous. Victorine seated anxiously beside Juliana; they both were anxious waiting patiently for results of the tests. "You've been so brave, Victorine," she said softly, reaching out to place a hand over hers. "Do you know how much we appreciate this? How much does it mean?" Victorine swallowed hard, blinking rapidly as if the gesture alone were enough to overwhelm her. She shook her head faintly. "I… I'm just doing what I can," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. "It feels… a lot, though." Juliana gave a small, encouraging smile. "Yes, it is a lot. But it's also… extraordinary. Truly." Before they could say more, the doctor appeared at the door, file in hand, eyes crinkling in a gentle smile. "Mrs Richard? Miss Victorine?" he called. "Please, come with me. We have your results." Victorine's stomach tightened. She had imagined this moment countless times in the last week, but the reality—the waiting, the unknown—was heavier than she had anticipated. She rose slowly, her knees trembling, and followed the doctor into a consultation room. Juliana remained close, a reassuring shadow beside her. The room was quiet except for the faint hum of the air conditioning, the rhythmic tick of a wall clock, and Victorine's own shallow breathing. The doctor placed a chair beside the desk for her to sit, then leafed through the file once more, eyes scanning, lips pursed in thought. "Well," he began, finally looking up, "I have some excellent news." Victorine's heart skipped a beat. "You're an exceptional candidate," the doctor continued, his tone measured but warm. "All preliminary tests show that your health is excellent. Your blood work, your hormone levels, everything indicates you are very suitable to carry a child. Your body responds perfectly to the preliminary stimulation we administered." Victorine let out a breath she didn't realise she had been holding, and a small, unsteady smile crept onto her lips. Then, hesitantly, the doctor added, "And there is… something else. It appears that, medically, you have never engaged in sexual activity. You are, in fact, still a virgin." The words hung in the room like a sudden hush. Juliana 's eyes widened slightly, but only in quiet, stunned admiration and guilt. She could see Victorine's cheeks flush, not with embarrassment, but with the subtle intensity of innocence meeting sacrifice. "Oh, Victorine…" Juliana whispered, reaching out to take her hands. Her voice was trembling now, soft but steady. "You've given so much… and so purely. You've lived your life with care and integrity, and yet now you are making the ultimate sacrifice for us." Victorine blinked, unable to speak. Her heart thudded in her chest, a mixture of relief, disbelief, and deep gratitude. "I… I just want my brother to live," she whispered. Juliana squeezed her hands. "And that is why we will take care of you. Completely. You've given your trust and your courage, Victorine. Now let us give something back." It was that very afternoon that the arrangements began. Juliana , already thinking ahead, made sure Daniel's treatment at the hospital was progressing smoothly. She spoke personally with the head nurse, double-checking medication schedules, monitoring the transplant preparations, and ensuring the boy had every possible comfort. Every report she received brought a cautious sense of relief. Daniel was improving, stabilized, and safe. Meanwhile, Victorine returned to the mansion, walking slowly through the familiar halls she had cleaned a hundred times, though never with this sense of temporary reprieve. Juliana had arranged for another maid to join the household, someone who would handle her chores, meals, and errands—freeing Victorine to focus entirely on her health. "You deserve a break," Juliana said softly, as they walked together to Victorine's quarters. "No more scrubbing floors or endless chores. You have far more important things to do now." Victorine's chest tightened at the kindness, the consideration. "Ma'am… I don't know how to… how to repay you for all of this," she murmured. "You don't need to," Juliana said, smiling gently. "We only ask that you take care of yourself. That's the greatest gift you can give. Alex came home that night and was bouncing happily around him. He sensed the visit from the hospital was good news. "My love" is what the celebration is for. He asked while she handed him a glass of wine. "Honey the doctor said she is an excellent candidate for us" I just feel guilty that she hasn't had s*x before. That will also be a problem too. Juliana said with a mixed feeling. Alex pulls her in for a hug. It will be fine, my love. He said in the calmest voice. The implantation procedure tomorrow will be like to join?. She asked looking into his eyes that way he won't refuse. Alex smiled and nodded "Yes my Queen"the both laughed hard. The clicking of glasses was heard. They night faded sloes BACK TO THE CLINIC NEXT DAY The day of the implantation procedure arrived quietly, like a slow, measured dawn. The clinic room was softly lit, warm, and serene. Victorine lay on the cushioned medical bed, heart pounding. She felt exposed and vulnerable, every nerve alert, yet she knew The Couples presence would anchor her. Juliana held Victorine's hand throughout the procedure, whispering calm reassurances, stroking her hair, and reminding her to breathe. "You are incredibly brave," Juliana murmured. "And we'll never forget this. This is for your brother, for us, for a new beginning." The embryologist worked meticulously, transferring the fertilised eggs into Victorine's womb. The process was clinical, precise, yet deeply intimate in its weight and meaning. Victorine felt tears prick at her eyes as she imagined the life she was carrying, not yet born, yet already a symbol of hope. "It's done," the doctor said gently. "Now all you need to do is rest. Everything looks perfect. Victorine… this is a promising start." Juliana kissed her forehead softly. "Rest, darling. You've given more than anyone could ask. Now, let the future take care of itself." As Victorine closed her eyes, tears sliding silently down her cheeks, she whispered a quiet prayer for That night, as the soft London rain pattered against the windows of the mansion, Victorine lay in bed with her hands resting gently on her stomach. Juliana checked in on her one last time, placing a gentle hand over hers before leaving her in peace. The house was quiet, orderly, and safe. And for the first time in months, Victorine feels so relieved and hopes for the best. She was truly happy, no debt , no bills , just happily breathing.
