After office, Zetsun returned home, but he couldn't find the cat in his room.
Zetsun muttered, "Looks like it's gone."
He wanted to report everything to the police, but he knew everyone would just think he was crazy.
Zetsun began to wonder, If I cross that same road again, will I reach that other world?
The next day, while leaving his office, he found out that some people from his office had also gone missing. Once again, the thought of the cat kept coming back to him.
He thought, Who can help me?
Just then, the detective Hakura appeared and said,
"What are you thinking so deeply about? You're a strange guy, you know."
Zetsun replied sharply,
"What does it matter to you?
You came here to do your job—just do that."
Hakura said calmly,
"The work I came to do isn't finished yet."
And with that, he walked away.
Zetsun then started crossing that same road. His heart began to pound rapidly. Inside his head, one thought echoed again and again:
I have to go. I must fix everything.
Fragments of memories started coming back to him,
but he couldn't speak.
Suddenly, he saw four people crossing the zebra crossing. At that very moment, a car came speeding and hit all of them before driving away.
Then Zetsun heard a voice deep within his heart:
"Ordinary people do not belong in this world."
Another voice followed:
"The black and white lines of the zebra crossing—
black shows you your good moments,
white shows you your favorite moments.
But what if both are taken away from you?"
Zetsun suddenly opened his eyes.
He saw everyone staring at him.
He was standing right in the middle of the zebra crossing.
What will happen to him next?
