Chapter 2 - A bizzare trickster god

Cold…

That was the first thing Si-eun came to realize.

He was cold and tired, floating endlessly into a sea of nothingness.

Has it been days? Weeks perhaps? He couldn't tell, he had lost track of time or was simply too broken to keep count.

'So this is how it ends.'

If he had teeth then he'd have ground them against each other, it was too cruel, too cruel of a fate.

Was he cursed? What sort of life had he lived.

A muffled sound echoed through the empty sea, soft at first but then it became unrestrained wails.

"Why! Why me… just what did I do to deserve all this, was being born a crime? Just what the hell did I do! I tried, I really tried to make the most of my shitty life but the world wouldn't let me, why is it so hell bent on ruining me! What the hell, Arghhh!!!"

He continued, for what seemed like hours, wailing until his non-existent tear glands grew dry.

Floating around as nothing more than a will o' the wisp, he stared blankly into the empty sea, with madness trickling in by the seconds.

Soon he was consumed by rage, his mind wandering towards the person who'd once been his friend, the person who betrayed him and the one responsible for his death.

"Javier! I swear I'll kill you, when I see your sorry ass in hell you'd wish your soul was sent elsewhere."

Just as his words echoed through the dark sea, a poorly suppressed chuckle sounded.

Before turning into unrestrained howls of laughter.

"Oh my, oh goodness… isn't this just amusing, how deep does your hate run for that guy, kekeke"

Si eun, shuddered.

He had assumed he was the only one here since he didn't notice or sense any movements but the thought that someone had been watching him silently made him feel naked and very vulnerable.

"Y-You… who are you?" si eun muttered weakly.

"Ah, I bear you no harm, pardon the late greetings, my name… is Loki and I'm the god of mischief."

He paused for a few seconds then continued.

"So si-eun ssi, how far are you willing to go to get your revenge?."

'What bullshit is this guy spouting?'

The trickster god coughed awkwardly for a few seconds, then cleared his throat, his figure veiled by the vast curtain of darkness.

"Ermmm not to scare you or anything but…"

"But what?" Si eun asked with a hint of wariness.

"Heh.. I can hear your thoughts."

'What nonsense is this creep spouting… wait is he some death god meant to take me to the afterlife?'

"Dear heavens, how absurd… don't compare me to that moody bastard, he has no humor, always mumbling at how death is inevitable or whatnot! In any case I'm no death god, I'm the trickster god and no you're not going to the afterlife, also… rudeee! I'm not a creep." Loki replied, quite funny you could almost hear the pout behind his words.

'Dear heavens? What sort of childlike entity did I encounter, this is weird, very weird.'

With an exasperated sigh si-eun managed to utter.

"At least reveal yourself."

There was silence for a few seconds before Loki finally spoke.

"To think you'd ask to see a god's true form, tell me mortal, are you that desperate to die truly?"

Si-eun shuddered.

The trickster's tone had been so carefree that the disoriented Si-eun had forgotten that he was in the presence of an actual deity.

"Ah hehe you must have the guts at least, I can't have my incarnation all wimpy you know."

The trickster reverted back to his carefree tone, clapping his hands twice he continued.

"Well sadly my time is up and the gloomy bastard is coming, that dude might actually take you to the otherside, well whatever, to you who embodies my concept, blah blah blah, I bestow upon you, my divinity… blah, now you bear the trickster mark or something… blah blah, this pledge is eternal."

Si-eun was bewildered.

"Oi, tell me this is a friggin joke, what the heck?"

The trickster gave a mild chuckle then spoke.

"Nope, now run along little jester, lest death comes for you."

Si-eun was about to retort when he felt a force slamming into him, causing his consciousness to falter before being extinguished from the voice finally.

The last thing he saw was a swirling mass of darkness as cold as the reaper's blade approaching the place where he once stood.

****

Thwack!

"Fahhhh, ahhkk!"

Pain, the first thing Si-eun woke up to was pain.

He could hear faint voices in the background but they were all drowned out by the ringing noises in his ear.

"Which bastard dares—"

Then it finally clicked, he had been hit.

He couldn't have been hit if he didn't have flesh which could only mean…

'I'm not dead?'

"I'm alive, God damnit I'm alive, *Hic… sob*."

Tears began to spill from his eyes as he celebrated his second chance at life but before he could drown in the ecstasy of being a living person, two shadows fell on him.

He tilted his neck slightly, finally taking in his surroundings.

But not before noticing the owners of the shadows cast on him.

The first one was a woman so beautiful that her mere presence alone would put any model on earth to shame.

She had vibrant green eyes and bright red hair that spilled down in wavy curls, her ivory skin was flawless and she had fat in all the right places.

Next to her was a man who was ridiculously handsome, too handsome that it started pissing Si-eun off, his skin was milky white, not what you'd expect from a man, he had icy blue eyes, dark Raven hair and a days worth of stubble on his face.

They were both ridiculously attractive but why… Why were they making that face?

As if to answer his question the woman spoke up.

"Heh? Honey, did you hear that, our son has grown some balls, eh… calling his mother a bastard."

'Wait what?'

Something moved in her hands and it was at that moment, he realized that the woman had actually been holding a whip.

A grim smile appeared on her face as a predatory glint reflected in her eyes.

And then, hell descended on him.
