The counterattack took three days to put together.
Three days of lawyers. Private investigators. Documents.
Marcus dug up everything. And I mean everything.
Victor's gambling debts. His three failed marriages. The restraining order from his second ex-wife. The bankruptcy he'd hidden. The fact that he'd never held a job for more than eight months.
Sofia was even better. Or worse, depending on how you looked at it.
Abandoned her six-year-old daughter. Never paid a cent of child support. Had been arrested twice for check fraud. Changed her name three times to avoid creditors.
And now they wanted custody of my daughter.
Catherine had it all organized. Documented. Ready to present.
"This ends them." She tapped the files. "Completely. They'll be lucky if they're not facing charges themselves when we're done."
"Good." Damian's voice was ice. "File everything. Today."
She nodded. Left to make it happen.
I looked at Damian. "Is it really over?"
