"An assassin?" Fumi asks. "Fumi..." Aroshi said, holding his shoulder. "That man right there is Jumpei Naganotsu, also known as the literal greatest assassin the world has ever seen." he says, pointing at the lifeless looking boy. Jumpei slowly walked towards the pair of men, sliding his hand across the blade of the katana, imbuing it with a blue, calm, visible energy. The energy radiated off the blade of the katana.
"Heh..." Fumi said.
Fumi dashed forward first, throwing a wild punch just to test Jumpei's reaction. Jumpei tilted his head a centimeter to the side, letting the fist pass like it was nothing. His eyes didn't even blink, it was like he was bored. Fumi clicked his tongue and snapped another punch upward, this time faster, forcing Jumpei to actually move his feet back.
Fumi grabbed a broken chunk of stone off the ground and hurled it like a baseball. Jumpei sliced it in half effortlessly, but Fumi was already behind him, swinging a heavy punch at the back of his head. Jumpei ducked under it, smiling like he saw it coming ten seconds ago.
"You wanna take me on? Come at me. You can't scare me with some flipping spooky magic energy power. I'm as strong as 100 adult men in their prime!" Fumi said cockily.
"We'll see about that." Jumpei said, running so fast that it almost looked like he appeared in front of Fumi before slicing downwards. "Woah!" Fumi said catching the blade with his bare hands, making sure it doesn't connect with his head. "S-Stop this!" he pleaded as the katana drew ever closer to his head. "Nothing you do against me will matter. I'm 5x stronger than you. I'm going easy on you." the boy said, kicking Fumi out of the way, sending him flying several meters to the side.
As Jumpei walked over to Fumi, who was lying on the ground, he faced the tip of his blade to Fumi's neck. "Any last words?" he said as his sword glistened in the sunlight. "W-Who the hell hired you? I'll track the bastard down and kill them!" Fumi said, grabbing his stomach in pain. "Unfortunately I don't give client's names away. And even if I did give their name to you, you still wouldn't be able to kill them." Jumpei replied.
"Oh yeah, why's that, genius?" Fumi asked.
"Because of this." Jumpei replied, thrusting the sword's tip towards Fumi's neck. But, before it could reach, Fumi was saved by non-other than Aroshi. Fumi's older brother tackled Jumpei just in time before the blade could pierce his neck. "Don't you dare touch my fucking younger brother." Aroshi said to Jumpei while choking his neck with his right hand. "Listen..." the boy said, grabbing Aroshi's hand and forcing it to release its grip.
"You're not on my hit list. I have no intention to kill you. But... if you were to interfere with my business, that would be a different story." he said, punching Aroshi' stomach, sending him flying up into the air. With a loud thud, Aroshi hit the ground hard, shattering a few bones. Standing up and dusting himself, Jumpei observed his surroundings. "Now, where did that crazy kid go?"
"No..." Aroshi said, standing up slowly.
"I will kill you!"
Aroshi barely got his guard up before Jumpei blurred forward and drove his fist straight into his ribs. The hit sounded like someone snapping a tree branch in half. Aroshi coughed blood instantly, his body folding around the impact as he was launched backward, sliding across the ground like a ragdoll. He tried to stand, tried to steady himself, but Jumpei was already behind him, grabbing him by the back of the head and slamming his face into the stone pavement so hard the ground cracked.
He looked down the street to see Fumi sprinting to the exit of the town. "So, he's trying to exit the town Evangoth? I won't let him." Jumpei says, sprinting after him. But before he could, Aroshi grabbed his ankles, tripping him over. "I know what your plan is, brother... Don't worry, I shall delay him for as long as I must." Aroshi quietly says to himself.
"Let go of me, you fiend!" Jumpei says, stomping on Aroshi' head over and over again. As he finally let go, Jumpei wasted no time and sprinted after Fumi. Cutting to Fumi's point of view, he's already crossed half the bridge. "Great, the town that's built on top of a flat stone that's above the water, Evangoth. It's enclosed by huge walls and then a bridge that extends outside of the walls. I'm running across the bridge to escape it right now. The bridge is about 10 kilometers long, and that's easy, because I could probably run 100 meters in like 3 seconds." Fumi said to himself before looking behind to see Jumpei almost caught up with him.
'He's fast, but I'm faster.' Jumpei thought to himself.
At this point, the two were about 5 meters away from each other. Now 3 meters, now 2, now 1. And then, calamity struck as Jumpei sliced Fumi to the ground. "Ugh!" Fumi grunted as he hit the ground, face first. "Damn it..." Fumi said as his back was bleeding from the cut wound. Jumpei put his throat just above the katana blade. "There's uh, no one to bail you out this time. This is the end of the road. Sorry it had to end like this. Any last words?" Jumpei asked.
"I..."
"I... won't be dying here..." Fumi said as his eyes turned white.
"Ugh... What is happening to you?" Jumpei asks.
Back at Aroshi's location, he's still there lying on the ground in pain.
"Heh, you bastard... Fumi only left the town so he could release the demon inside of him. This was the plan all along. He just didn't want anyone to get hurt."
