Deep underground, far beneath the surface, lay a hidden laboratory.
Thick bundles of cables crawled across the walls like veins, feeding power into towering machines. Transparent tubes filled with pale blue fluid snaked toward a massive cylindrical pod positioned at the center of the room. The pod itself was filled to the brim with liquid, faint bubbles drifting upward within.
Suspended inside was a humanoid Pokémon.
Its body was sleek and white, smooth like polished porcelain. A long, purple tail coiled from its lower torso and trailed behind it in a slow, idle curl. Its head was feline in shape, elegant and sharp, with three blunt ridges where ears should have been.
The ultimate psychic weapon.
Mewtwo.
"Finally…!" a voice shouted, breaking the silence. "The clone is finally complete!"
The speaker was a scientist hunched behind a control console, a man in his sixties, his face creased with age and sleepless obsession. Messy white hair spilled in all directions beneath his lab goggles, and the unmistakable red Team Rocket insignia was stitched proudly onto the back of his lab coat.
"It took more than ten years to perfect this specific Mewtwo body," the scientist said, almost trembling with pride. "What do you think of it?"
"…Giovanni, sir?"
From the shadows at the edge of the chamber, a tall, middle-aged man stepped forward.
Giovanni.
His dark eyes reflected faintly against the glass of the pod as he approached. He wore a long-sleeved black shirt with a deep V-neck, a white undershirt visible beneath, paired with slightly loose black trousers and polished shoes. The red Team Rocket emblem rested over his chest like a badge of absolute authority.
Giovanni stopped in front of the pod and placed his hand against the glass.
"It looks good," he said calmly.
Despite his satisfaction, a flicker of doubt crossed his expression.
"But tell me," Giovanni continued, "will this one become another rogue Mewtwo… just like the others we tried experimenting on?"
"Not at all, sir," the scientist replied immediately, confidence oozing from his voice. "This Mewtwo will be different."
Giovanni raised an eyebrow. "Different?"
"Yes," the scientist said, grinning. "Because this body was created without a consciousness."
He gestured toward the pod.
"This Mewtwo is merely a vessel, as the one who will be in control of it's body will be a human, one of our own. A loyal soldier of Team Rocket that I handpicked for this experiment, ready to die for out cause."
"So, please meet our host for this Mewtwo."
With a snap of the scientist's fingers, a reinforced door slid open.
A young man stepped inside.
He had short purple hair, sharp emerald eyes, and wore a standard Team Rocket uniform. His posture was stiff, disciplined. He marched forward and snapped into a salute.
"My name is Herbert Meatshield!" he announced loudly. "At your service, Giovanni sir! Glory to Team Rocket!"
Giovanni smirked and walked past the pod, stopping in front of Herbert.
"I look forward to your contributions," Giovanni said, placing a hand on Herbert's shoulder. "As Mewtwo."
---
Moments later, Herbert was strapped tightly to a metal table.
A helmet was lowered onto his head, thick cables linking it directly to the pod. Machines hummed louder as power surged through the system. Then with the press of a button from the scientist electricity tore through Herbert's body.
His scream erupted throughout the room briefly before his muscles went slack.
"Check neural activity," the scientist ordered sharply as he and Giovanni look at a monitor who was still a line, until...
Beep.
A single spike appeared on the monitor
Beep beep beep beep.
And the line turned into a wave.
"IT WORKED!" The scientist shouted.
Giovanni smirked.
But then, the liquid inside the pod suddenly began to churn.
Mewtwo's body jerked violently, limbs thrashing as if he were drowning. The Mewtwo eyes glowed purple and cracks spiderwebbed across the glass as pressure built. Then, in a single heartbeat, a tidal wave of psychic force detonated outward.
The pod exploded.
The scientist and Giovanni ducked behind a machine.
Glass shattered into the air. Pale blue fluid crashed across the laboratory floor, ripping cables from the walls and sending equipment tumbling.
From the wreckage, Mewtwo rose.
Suspended above the flooding floor, he hovered effortlessly, droplets of liquid rolling off his smooth white body. Slowly, he raised one hand and watched his fingers curl and uncurl at his command.
"This…" Herbert murmured, his voice echoing through the chamber, no longer entirely human."…feels incredible."
He clenched his fist.
"The power… it's surging inside me!"
"U-uh… Herbert?" the scientist asked, his voice shaking.
Herbert threw his head back and laughed.
"I COULD GO ON A RAMPAGE!"
Psychic energy erupted from him like a storm. Consoles ripped free from their foundations. Metal twisted and screeched as it was dragged into the air. The laboratory itself seemed to tremble beneath his will.
"DAMN IT, DOCTOR! Giovanni snapped. "You told me he was loyal!"
"But he is!" the scientist shouted back, but he was unsure now.
Many team rocket grunts in the laboratory took out their Pokémon in a desperate attempt to deal with Herbert.
Herbert didn't even look at them.
With a single, lazy wave of his hand, a crushing psychic blast swept across the room. Pokémon were slammed into walls, knocked unconscious in an instant, and their trainers was sent sprawling across the flooded floor.
Herbert turned slowly.
He drifted toward Giovanni, eyes glowing with cold, unnatural light and his expression was empty and predatory.
Giovanni's hand slipped into his pocket, fingers tightening around a Poké Ball. One wrong move, and he would throw it without hesitation.
Then...
In the instant the pressure vanished.
The storm of psychic energy collapsed inward as Herbert dropped to one knee before Giovanni, head bowed.
"Herbert reporting for duty," he said calmly. "As Mewtwo."
Herbert stood back to Giovanni. Then a fallen grunt's Poké Ball was lifted from the floor and floated into Herbert's grasp. He raised it above his head in a crisp salute.
"Glory to Team Rocket."
Herbert dropped the Poké Ball from above his head,
The ball burst open, red light engulfing him as he willingly allowed himself to be captured.
Giovanni caught the Poké Ball and smiled.
"Excellent," he said quietly. "World domination is one step closer once again..."
---
And now... Herbert was soaring above the endless ocean toward the distant shores of Unova. Herbert's mission was simple: destroy a machine hidden deep within Pinwheel Forest, constructed by Team Gamma. What machine it is? To Herbert it doesn't matter, as a soldier doesn't ask any questions.
But it seems there was a mole inside of Team Rocket who had leaked his deployment.
Though it did not matter.
As Herbert would just find the mole with his psychic senses and tear them apart, limb by limb.
Herbert has been with this new body for half a year now, and he has fully been accustomed to his body alongside its immense psychic power responded to him as naturally as breathing.
"There it is," Herbert said, spotting land on the horizon.
"Unova."
He smirked.
Knowing that there would be Gym leaders or Elite Four stopping him in his path. However... Herbert know one thing as a legendary Pokemon.
None of it mattered.
Nothing in Unova could stand against a legendary Pokémon-
"URGH!!!!"
Herbert gasped as an overwhelming psychic force slammed down on him, crushing his body midair. He dropped to one knee, veins of pain tearing through his mind as if the weight of twenty mountains had been placed upon his shoulders.
"Hm...? What's this? How can this be?"
A calm voice answered.
Herbert looked up and was shocked.
Hovering above him was no other than a Gardevoir wearing a wide white hat, with her expression utterly devoid of concern... no, worse.
Her expression was Disdain towards Herbert.
"A Mewtwo," Voira said coolly. "losing a psychic clash to a Gardevoir…?"
She sighed.
"How disappointing."
Herbert's eyes widened.
"Who… are you?" he demanded.
Voira's lips curved into a faint smirk.
"Tch…!" Herbert grit his teeth. "If you won't answer—!"
His psychic power surged, flaring outward as he forcibly pushed back against her pressure.
"THEN DIE!"
A super-condensed Shadow Ball tore free from his hand, flying through the air before detonating against Voira in a violent eruption of black, ghostly energy.
BOOOM!
Dark smoke swallowed the sky.
Herbert straightened, a grin spreading across his face. Ghost-type attacks were devastating against Gardevoir, there was no way she-
The smoke cleared.
Voira hovered calmly above the ocean, seemingly untouched by the attack. Around her was a translucent purple bubble that took the blow of the Shadow Ball
Herbert's grin died instantly.
"…Is that… Protect?" he whispered.
"No. This is just an ordinary psychic barrier. Even a Ralts can use it." Voira replied flatly.
"A PSYCHIC BARRIER!??? IT'S JUST A PSYCHIC BARRIER!???"
A psychic barrier is... well, a barrier made out of psychic. Though for how powerful it sounds, the barrier was extremely weak and brittle. Even a normal human punch can break it almost effortlessly. It was only used to mitigate damage, though how much it mitigated was extremely small.
And yet, A Mewtwo's Shadow Ball had failed to even scratch it.
"How strong is that barrier!?" Herbert shouted in panic.
Then Voira suddenly raised one hand.
"Now," she said calmly, "it's my turn."
Fairy energy gathered in her palm.
"Moonblast."
And a pink ball made out of fairy energy was created. Herbert instantly readied himself to evade, thinking she would throw it at him.
But then… he saw something terrifying.
"Shadow Ball. Energy Ball. Aura Sphere." Three balls of purple, green, and blue were created in Voira's hand before merging with the Moonblast, creating a large ball of swirling purple, green, blue, and pink colors.
"What… what the hell is that!?" Herbert gasped.
More attacks followed.
"Mystical Fire. Thunderbolt. Psyshock. Ice Beam." All of these moves were instantly shot into the ball, creating a huge sphere of energy swirling with all the colors of the moves used inside it.
Voira was the ace Pokémon of the legendary World Champion, ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. She was a special specialist, as all her Pokémon attacks primarily used special attacking moves. Though… there was one thing completely different about this trainer compared to the other legendary trainers.
Her creativity in training was top-notch. As a weeb, she watched many anime, which in turn allowed her to do some special things with her Pokémon during training—
Like creating many signature moves that Pokémon normally couldn't learn or perform.
"Now… Psychic."
With a surge of psychic pressure from Voira, the once-huge ball was compressed down to the size of a billiard ball in the palm of her hand, glowing with rainbow colors.
Sensing danger, Herbert immediately decided to flee.
"Shit! I gotta dodge that-URGH!!!" Herbert groaned as a psychic force restrained him in place.
"What is this!? Such strong psychic power!!!" Even with Mewtwo's power, Herbert couldn't break free from Voira's psychic hold.
He looked forward and saw Voira with her hands extended, her fingers ready to flick the ball toward him.
"AAAAAAAAARRRGGHHHH!!!" Herbert screamed as he struggled against the psychic grip.
Voira simply looked at him with a serious gaze.
"True Prismatic Obliteration."
She flicked the prismatic ball forward, and it flew at insane speed, striking Herbert in the stomach before he could even react.
KABOOOOOOOOOOOM
A blinding explosion of multicolored light erupted, creating a mini mushroom cloud of swirling colors that shook the waves below. As the smoke faded, Voira saw a blue barrier surrounding Herbert.
"Protect, huh?" Voira said.
As the blue barrier shattered, Herbert was furious.
"How dare you…!" He glared at Voira with bloodshot eyes. "I AM A MEWTWO! A LEGENDARY POKÉMON! AND YOU WILL SUFFER MY PSYCHIC WRATH-!"
Herbert immediately stopped mid-sentence when he saw, behind Voira was five giant prismatic balls of energy floating in the air.
With a wave of her hand, the prismatic balls shrank and floated toward Voira's wrist, forming something like a glowing wristband.
"IMPOSSIBLE!!! SHOULDN'T THAT USE SO MUCH OF YOUR ENERGY-!?"
"Not really," Voira scoffed. "I can quite literally spam it as many times as I want, however much I want."
"What is this? A Mewtwo scared of a mere Gardevoir?" Voira tilted her head mockingly.
Then Herbert finally realized who she was.
"I know you now… the legendary trainer's ace Pokémon. The Destroyer. The jack-of-all-trades, master of all. The Goddess of War-!"
"Enough." Voira cut him off. "Now die."
With a simple wave of her hand, all the prismatic balls on her wrist flew at breakneck speed toward Herbert.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!! TELEPORT!!!"
Just as the balls were about to hit, Herbert vanished, teleporting away. The attacks continued straight forward before exploding into massive, radiant, rainbow-colored mushroom clouds.
The explosion sent a towering spray of water into the air, which quickly fell back down as rain around Voira.
Voira exhaled slowly.
"…Disappointing."
A faint smile crossed her face.
"I once lost to a Mewtwo," she murmured. "But now… I've beaten one."
Then she frowned.
"Unfortunately, I can now only create five balls instead of six… I really am rusty now..."
Then she remembered something.
"Ugh… a disappointing battle, and now I still have to use all my money to buy Maru's toys and a soccer ball… what a pain…" Voira sighed. "Maybe I can get a little more from Champ, since he's a regional manager now."
"Though, Maybe I was a bit overkill there..."
After that thought, Voira vanished.

Fun fact:
True Prismatic Obliteration is one of Voira's signature moves. It has the typing of every move used to create it; however, it has a special property where it becomes the type that is effective against the opposing Pokémon.
Its base power is the combined power of all the moves used to create it. After calculation, it has a base power of 770.
Since a Psychic-type move and a Fairy-type move are used, it gains a STAB bonus of 1.5×, which after calculation gives it a base power of 1155.
Now, remember when I said this move uses every type involved in its creation but becomes the type that is effective against the opposing Pokémon? The effectiveness is 4×.
Yes, this move deals 4× super-effective damage to every Pokémon, which after calculation brings the base power up to 4620.
And don't forget, she can spam this move like it's nothing in her prime days.
Yeah.
