Chapter 29: The Devil at the Gate
Our story begins exactly where the previous chapter ended.
Billy –
He asks his father,
"How did you know? I never told this to anyone."
Stave –
"Son, I am your father. If I don't know about you, then who will?"
Stave –
"Don't think about how I found out that you want to create a guild of your own."
Billy –
"Hm, dad."
Stave –
"Okay, I respect your decision to form a guild. And take care of yourself."
Billy –
Happily says thank you and asks,
"Dad… you're not angry with me, right?"
Stave –
"No, why would I be angry? And before you go, always keep this with you. No matter what happens, never take it off."
Billy –
"This belonged to mom, right?"
We are not told what he is given.
The scene shifts.
We are shown the view outside First Stage Earth.
There, Ghost Knight is standing.
Ghost Knight –
As soon as he tries to enter Earth, an invisible wall appears in front of him.
Seeing this, he is shocked.
Ghost Knight –
Angrily says,
"Who dares to stop me? Come out! No one will be able to escape!"
Unknown Voice –
Laughing, she says,
"Someone like you is not allowed on this Earth. Go back."
Ghost Knight –
Ghost Knight –
In surprise,
"You know me? How dare you stop me?"
Unknown Voice –
"Who in this universe does not know you? Everyone calls you the 'Devil.'"
Ghost Knight –
"Who are you?
Come in front of me right now, or I will break this wall!"
Unknown Voice –
"What a joke. If breaking it were that easy, someone would have conquered this place long ago.
I am not stopping you…
You simply don't have enough power to enter."
Ghost Knight –
"Don't blame me later. I absolutely hate losing."
Ghost Knight –
With an evil smile, he says,
"I wanted a chance to use my new weapon… fine, I'll use it here."
As Ghost Knight draws his sword, a huge amount of evil power pours out of it.
When he grips the sword in his hands, a black aura spreads around him, and Ghost Knight himself is swallowed by that dark aura.
Ghost Knight –
He says,
"Still want to rethink it?"
Unknown Voice –
"That is the Demon Observing Sword. A demon's soul is sealed inside it."
Ghost Knight –
In surprise,
"You know about this sword?"
Unknown Voice –
"Yes, a little. It can control the user's mind if the wielder is weak.
You haven't lost control yet… that means you are strong.
I am impressed by you.
Put the weapon away. There is no need to fight."
Ghost Knight –
"What happened? Are you scared to fight?"
Unknown Voice –
"I am the protector of this Earth, not its destroyer.
If a battle happens here, there will be massive destruction."
Ghost Knight –
He keeps his weapon with him and asks,
"Then how can I enter?"
Unknown Voice –
"Seal your power. On Earth, you may use only 10% of it."
Ghost Knight –
"But if I reduce my power, my enemies will attack me."
Unknown Voice –
"Sorry."
Ghost Knight –
"Why sorry?"
Unknown Voice –
"I sealed your power without asking you. Now go."
Just as Ghost Knight is about to say something, he is suddenly teleported to Earth.
Unknown Voice says,
"All the best. May you get what you desire."
A huge smile forms in the sky.
