Chapter 421 - Chapter 421: Shadow Team's "Gang-Up Tactics"

However, each of Gardevoir's Double Team clones was protected by psychic power, and every one of them appeared completely real, making them difficult to hit. Even when they were struck, the clones were not destroyed.

Nevertheless, Beedrill's sudden burst of attacks forced all three Pokémon to divide their attention, reducing the potency of their psychic power. As a result, both Golurk and Weezing, as well as Ditto and Houndoom, were finally able to catch their breath.

Skorupi continuously attacked Slowking and Espeon with Pin Missile. Although every attack was blocked by their psychic barriers, Skorupi's attacks still forced them to divert part of their psychic power to defense, naturally scattering their focus even further.

The more concentrated a Psychic-type Pokémon's attention was, the greater the power of its psychic abilities. As a result, Tetsuya's six Pokémon had succeeded in disrupting the concentration of Yamamoto's Pokémon, greatly reducing the potency of their attacks.

Yamamoto's plan had also been ruined by Tetsuya's Pokémon swarming him together. It was now impossible to defeat Tetsuya's Pokémon quickly. Once Mamoswine completed its Curse, only death awaited them…

Left with no choice, Yamamoto sent out an emergency distress signal. The Shadows who had already been rushing toward this location would now arrive even faster.

At this critical moment of life and death, both Tetsuya and Gengar used all of their might. In only ten minutes, the five Shadows had become five dried corpses.

Mamoswine had now completed four uses of Curse. After training for half a year at the glacier falls, it naturally still had the toughness to continue using Curse.

Tetsuya had no choice but to have Mamoswine use Curse as many times as possible. The future remained uncertain. Every additional Curse made Mamoswine stronger and gave Tetsuya one more chance to survive.

In the darkness, Slowking fired a Psybeam directly at Skorupi. The highly intelligent Slowking had already realized that Skorupi was the weakest member of Tetsuya's team, yet its Pin Missiles were undeniably troublesome.

After calculating the exact amount of power needed to incapacitate Skorupi, Slowking fired without hesitation. Caught completely off guard, Skorupi was struck directly and immediately lost its combat ability.

Now the three Psychic-type Pokémon were able to concentrate even more fully, and the power of their attacks naturally increased!

"Gardevoir, Dazzling Gleam!"

Yamamoto had been observing the entire battlefield. This time, just as Beedrill launched another surprise attack and reached the point closest to Gardevoir, Gardevoir's entire body erupted with dazzling light, making it even more blinding in the darkness. The white radiance spread outward, engulfing Beedrill along with all of its clones.

"Retreat!"

Tetsuya shouted. Houndoom in particular, along with the other four Pokémon, sensed the scorching energy contained within the white light and immediately retreated.

When Gardevoir withdrew the white light, Beedrill had already lost its combat ability and slowly fell from the sky.

After recalling Skorupi, Tetsuya had no choice but to recall Beedrill as well…

"Mamooooos…!"

With a mighty roar, Mamoswine successfully completed its fifth Curse. Energy surged throughout its body as it grew noticeably larger, its eyes gleaming brilliantly with an intimidating aura.

Mamoswine's roar seemed to be saying, "Stand back. Leave this to me!" Golurk and the other three Pokémon all retreated.

"Fissure!"

At Tetsuya's command, Mamoswine raised its forelegs as immense energy gathered within them before it slammed them heavily into the ground!

Two fissures tore across the ground before merging into a single crack that shot directly toward Slowking and Espeon.

"Q-Quick, quick, use Confusion to lift yourselves into the air!" Yamamoto shouted anxiously.

However, an enormous iceberg suddenly appeared above the three Pokémon. This was Mamoswine's boosted Icicle Crash!

The three Pokémon hovered in midair, forced to use their psychic power to hold back the falling iceberg.

Yamamoto's Pokémon and Mamoswine's iceberg reached a stalemate. Beads of sweat streamed down them. Beneath them was the bottomless chasm created by Fissure, while above them hung the massive iceberg. If their power weakened even slightly, death would be inevitable…

Naturally, Tetsuya had no intention of allowing the stalemate to continue. A second iceberg created by Mamoswine was already slowly taking shape in the sky.

At that moment, vehicles approached from every direction. Yamamoto immediately recognized them as Shadow Team's. The reinforcements had arrived. Unveiling astonishing agility, Yamamoto leaped over to his subordinates in just a few bounds, naturally also taking precautions against Tetsuya's special powers.

Seeing the vehicles racing toward him, Tetsuya estimated there were at least fifty or sixty people. He had wanted to capture Yamamoto and use him as a hostage… but it seems that Yamamoto's physical abilities rivaled those of a Fighting-type Pokémon?

Subduing him quickly was impossible!

Moreover, Tetsuya's [Shadow Contract] was best suited for surprise attacks, and there was no opportunity for that now…

Mamoswine's second iceberg crashed down!

Slowking, Espeon, and Gardevoir collapsed instantly. Crushed beneath the weight of two icebergs, their psychic power could no longer support them. With a thunderous crash, they were smashed into the chasm created by Fissure.

Mamoswine then exerted its power once more, causing the chasm to collapse and burying all three of Yamamoto's Pokémon alive.

By now, fifty or sixty people had gathered behind Yamamoto. Gritting his teeth, Yamamoto could hardly believe he had lost three Pokémon here today. He wanted nothing more than to tear Tetsuya to pieces!

…But the truth behind the Shadow Island incident could only be learned from Tetsuya. He could not kill him, and the frustration burned within him.

"Shadoooows, move! Capture him! First wave, advance! Seal off the sky!"

With a wave of Yamamoto's hand, the fifty or sixty people all threw out their first Poké Balls. Instantly, dozens of Pokémon surged onto the battlefield, representing all kinds of different types.

On Tetsuya's side, only Mamoswine, Golurk, Ditto, Houndoom, and Weezing remained. Every Shadow Team member had five Pokémon. Even if he somehow managed to survive this first wave, there would still be four more waves afterward. Winning was nothing more than a fantasy.

It is true that now that Tetsuya had eliminated and worn down Yamamoto's Pokémon, he could try using Teleport, but he doesn't want that information to become public just yet…

Large numbers of Flying-type Pokémon circled overhead, completely ruining Tetsuya's plan to escape through the air on Golurk.

"Mamoswine, use Icicle Spear. Golurk, engage them in the air. Houndoom, [Blightfire Assault]. Weezing, prepare an explosion attack. Ditto, Transform into Golurk."

Mamoswine attacked first, firing more than a dozen Icicle Spears in rapid succession with tremendous force. Every Pokémon struck immediately fell.

Golurk and Ditto, transformed into Golurk, wielded Thunder Punch as they darted back and forth through the air.

Shadow Team's Flying-type Pokémon each exhibited their own abilities, and a fierce aerial battle erupted.

Houndoom had very little stamina remaining, but being able to use its ultimate move with its last burst meant it had no regrets.

Soon, dozens of "volcanoes" appeared in the darkness, following closely behind Mamoswine's Icicle Spears.

Having already suffered once from Icicle Spear, the opposing Pokémon all used their own moves to resist the incoming attack. Houndoom seized the opportunity to charge into the middle of the group, it defeated five Pokémon before being struck down and blasted back, completing its mission.
