Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 3 Golden Finger.

Luke was still lying there, puzzled, when the faint white flash returned.

At first it was small, no bigger than a spark at the edge of his vision. Then it grew. Slowly, steadily, until the light spread across his field of view and settled into a flat, floating screen. The design was plain—no decorations, no dramatic effects—just a quiet presence hanging before his eyes.

So… it still came.

Luke felt his breath hitch. He had already given up on the idea of a "golden finger," convinced that this life would stay ordinary. For a brief moment, happiness nearly choked him, a laugh threatening to burst out of his chest. He clenched his teeth and forced himself to calm down.

Control yourself.

From the outside, the room was silent. Anyone passing by his door would have seen nothing more than a man lying on his bed, staring blankly at the ceiling. Inside, however, Luke's mind was racing.

He focused on the screen. It didn't respond like the systems he'd read about. No voice. No greeting. No replies no matter how he tried to call it. After testing it for a while, he realized it wasn't a system at all.

It felt more like a bead—something embedded deep in his mind. Deeper than thought. Closer to the soul.

That realization made his heart sink.

A memory surfaced, sharp and clear. In his previous life, he had once bought a strange bead from an antique store. It was a complimentary item, thrown in with another purchase. He had even laughed about it back then, calling it useless.

I didn't expect it to come with me…

His thoughts spun in a tight circle.

Was this the reason I came here?

Before he could go any further, thunder rolled outside, loud and sudden. Rain began pouring heavily again, striking the roof and windows. The sound grounded him.

Luke took a slow breath and concentrated on the bead. The screen responded immediately, its contents sharpening.

It looked… familiar.

Too familiar.

It resembled a single-player game he had once played to pass time—a simple game focused on guild development, race selection, and gradual growth. He hadn't played it long. Three days at most, before everything changed and he came to Nevarth. Yet this version felt different, as if it had mutated during the journey between worlds.

The interface suited his taste perfectly. Clean. Calm. Practical

At the top left corner, a small panel showed World Weekly, styled like a newspaper, with the name Nevarth printed clearly. At the top right were Origin Points: 99.

At the center floated the bead itself, pulsing with soft light.

To the left of the bead was a personal icon. To the right, a guild option. Along the bottom ran a shop interface, divided neatly into personal and guild sections. At the far end sat a simple "?" symbol, explaining the functions and details of each option.

Super user-friendly.

Luke almost laughed.

No arrogant sentient system. No dramatic announcements. No matter how he had tried earlier, it never answered him—because it was never meant to. It was quiet, efficient, and terrifyingly powerful.

Yes… this is strong.

His smile widened as his gaze moved across the panel. The more he explored, the more his excitement grew. Piece by piece, he began to understand how it worked.

He tapped the personal panel.

Information unfolded smoothly.

His eyes paused on the soul stat.

Ninety-nine.

Luke swallowed.

Next, the guild panel appeared.

The shop interface opened next.

Luke frowned slightly at the empty guild shop. After checking the instructions, he understood—items would only appear there after he sold personal items into the guild system. For now, it wasn't important.

He skipped past it. Guilds weren't his concern yet.

His attention returned to the center.

The bead was flashing more intensely now, filled with swirling light that resembled a tiny galaxy. Stars spun within it, slow and deep. According to the panel, the bead would fill over time and grant rewards when complete. There were nine grades… and one unknown grade marked only by a vast starry sky.

Luke's eyes lit up, bright enough to match the screen itself. Then he exhaled and forced himself to settle.

Don't rush.

He got off the bed and went to wash his hands, as if preparing for something sacred. Standing at the sink, water running softly, he clasped his hands together.

"God… Buddha… Jesus… Almighty Aethrone… Lumyras… Yellow King… Lord Shiva…"

He almost laughed at himself, but continued anyway.

"Give me something that lets me live peacefully. And protect those dear to me."

He realized he had prayed to gods from both worlds.

Drying his hands, Luke returned to the bed. The rain thundered outside, the house quiet and asleep. With a steady breath, he reached out and tapped the flashing bead at the center of the screens
