Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

That evening, Izuku was pulled into a class group chat created by Iida Tenya.

DEKU: Hello everyone.

Momo Yaoyorozu: Who's this?

Ochaco Uraraka: I know—this is Izuku-kun.

Toru Hagakure: Wow, so many people joined already? Iida-kun works fast.

Iida Tenya: Midoriya-kun, please change your display name back as soon as possible. Don't cause misunderstandings.

Izuku Midoriya: Sorry, that's my fault.

After staring at his phone for half an hour, Izuku organized the textbooks for tomorrow's classes. Then he looked worriedly at the sandbags and iron weights that could no longer satisfy his training needs.

"My new iron plates and sandbags won't arrive until tomorrow, but the ones I have now aren't enough anymore. Should I still wear them to school tomorrow? …I guess I should ask my classmates."

Izuku Midoriya: I have a question I'd like to ask everyone.

Iida Tenya: What is it?

Denki Kaminari: Please don't let it be about studying. I won't know the answer.

Izuku Midoriya: It's about training. The 120-jin (about 60 kg) sandbags and iron weights I use for self-training aren't enough anymore. But the new sandbags and iron plates I ordered won't arrive until tomorrow. Should I still wear the 120-jin weights to school tomorrow?

Iida Tenya: !!! Midoriya-kun, are you really training that hard?

Minoru Mineta: That's not just for show, right?

Momo Yaoyorozu: If you need them immediately, I can provide some.

Izuku Midoriya: Really? That would be amazing! Thank you so much, Yaoyorozu-san!

Momo Yaoyorozu: That's what my Quirk is for—Creation. So, how many sandbags and iron plates do you need?

Izuku Midoriya: …Then please give me 60 jin worth of iron plates and sandbags for now. The other 60 jin will arrive tomorrow.

Iida Tenya: As expected—only someone ruthless enough with themselves can enter U.A. and become a hero. Midoriya-kun, would you mind telling us how you train?

Izuku Midoriya: That might not be a good idea… I don't want to mislead anyone.

Iida Tenya: It's fine. Just treat it as a reference.

Kyoka Jiro: I want to know.

Minoru Mineta: Just don't exaggerate.

Denki Kaminari: Whew, as long as it's not studying, I want to hear it too.

Eijiro Kirishima: Yeah, I wanna know as well.

Izuku Midoriya: …Alright then.

Izuku rummaged through his desk and found his three training plans. He took photos of all three and sent them into the group chat.

After everyone finished reading Izuku's training plans, the entire group went silent.

Izuku Midoriya: What's going on? Why isn't anyone saying anything?

Minoru Mineta: Tell me honestly—was this training plan even made for humans?

Denki Kaminari: Or are you just… not human at all?!

Izuku Midoriya: ???

Iida Tenya: Ahem. This time, I do not encourage everyone to imitate Midoriya-kun. Your training plan is truly astonishing.

Eijiro Kirishima: Just reading this plan makes my blood boil—in a good way!

Kyoka Jiro: These three plans clearly prove that Midoriya isn't strong by nature.

Denki Kaminari: But isn't this way too brutal on yourself? Running twenty kilometers every morning? Today's 3,000 meters already nearly killed me.

Minoru Mineta: I'm shutting myself down now.JPG

Mashirao Ojiro: Midoriya-kun, with training intensity this high, won't your body collapse?

Izuku Midoriya: It was really exhausting at first, but once you get used to it, it doesn't feel that bad. And in the beginning, I only carried five kilograms of sandbags. If I'd started with that level of intensity, no one could handle it.

Minoru Mineta: Alright, I'm out. This kind of training isn't something ordinary people can survive. I'll just go back to figuring out how to get close to Yaoyorozu's chest.

Denki Kaminari: Give it up. That's impossible in this lifetime.

Izuku took one last glance at his phone, then opened the diary in front of him.

"February 17th—Diary entry: Today…"

While the class group chat fell silent, Bakugo Katsuki happened to open his phone as well—and saw the three training plans Izuku had shared.

"…Damn Deku."

The next morning, Momo Yaoyorozu walked into the classroom carrying a huge box.

"Can someone help me with this? It's really heavy!"

Iida was the first to rush over, helping Momo set the box down.

"Yaoyorozu-san, what's inside this box? It's incredibly heavy."

"Didn't I say last night I'd give Midoriya-kun sixty jin of sandbags and iron plates? These are them," Momo said, wiping sweat from her forehead.I didn't realize sixty jin was this heavy…

"So they're for Midoriya-kun," Iida said.

Just as he finished speaking, the classroom door opened again, and Izuku Midoriya walked in.

"Iida-kun, were you calling me just now?"

"Midoriya-kun, perfect timing. These are the sixty jin of sandbags and iron plates. Please take them."

"Thank you so much, Yaoyorozu-san," Izuku said as he opened his jacket, revealing a white shirt and trousers covered in small pockets. Even the school-issued uniform had been carefully modified—each pocket sewn by Izuku himself and filled with iron plates.

"Midoriya-kun… what exactly are you doing?"

"These sixty jin are inconvenient to carry by hand, so I usually distribute them across my body," Izuku explained calmly as he slid the iron plates into the pockets.

A few minutes later, all the iron plates were secured. Four sandbags remained—forty jin in total.

"What about the sandbags? What are you going to do with those?"

"For the sandbags, two go on my arms and two on my legs. Thanks again to Yaoyorozu-san for making them in a long, streamlined shape," Izuku said with a smile as he strapped them on.

"What a monster," Mineta muttered, shaking his head. So this is the determination of a top-tier guy…

"Next, I need to get used to the new weight. On days off, I usually run a few laps outside, but class is about to start, so I'll use a different method."

"What method?"Before anyone realized it, everyone's attention had been drawn to this training maniac.

"This."Izuku pulled out two grip strengtheners from his bag—one large and one small.

"The small one is for my arms. The big one is for my legs and thighs."

"Incredible…"

"It's nothing special—just training plans. Sometimes when I'm too tired, I only do ten sets of push-ups at night instead of twenty."

"One set is how many push-ups?"

"One hundred."

"…I shouldn't have asked," Mineta said as he slumped back into his seat, his soul visibly crushed.

"Hey boys! What are you staring at over there? Class is starting, you know!"Sometime during all this, Present Mic had entered the room.

"Everyone remembers this is English class, right? Let's get started!! Yeah! Yeah!"

Present Mic's English class was relatively dull, but as a model student, Izuku listened attentively—while squeezing his grip strengtheners at the same time.

Time passed slowly, and soon it was lunch. U.A. had a cafeteria, with meals prepared by the Pro Hero chef: Lunch Rush.

"Pork cutlet rice really is the best."

"So pork cutlet rice is your favorite, Midoriya-kun…"

"Yes. It's ideal as a nutritious meal—carbohydrates, protein, and vegetable fiber all at once."

"That's such a serious answer."

"But I still think my mom's pork cutlet rice tastes the best."

"A mother's cooking really can't be replaced."
