Chapter 26 - Chapter 26

"Cafe… slow down…"

"Trainer, I'm sorry… I'll… right away…"

Faint voices leaked out from inside the dorm room, muffled by the heavy door and thick walls. Anyone passing by failed to hear them—and if they had, security would have been called immediately.

After all, this was the male staff dormitory.

The sounds continued deep into the night, finally ending only when the male voice disappeared entirely.

The next morning, birdsong cut through the quiet of Tracen Academy.

The room was peaceful and calm, filled with a drowsy, languid atmosphere.

Kaito lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling. The blanket beside him suddenly shifted—like a kitten stirring—before a black-haired girl peeked her head out.

"Trainer… you're awake."

"…Yeah."

"I'm sorry, Trainer. I think I got a bit too excited and didn't really think about you…"

"It's fine…"

Kaito had long since grown accustomed to the dual nature of Uma Musume.

No matter how gentle one seemed, there was always a wild side lurking beneath the surface.

Thankfully, he trained every day.

Living in a world like this, a lack of self-discipline simply wouldn't do. Even if he couldn't train like an Uma Musume, he at least needed to keep his stamina up—otherwise his body would never keep up.

In the game world, all fatigue vanished the moment he slept. No matter how exhausted he was beforehand, a single rest would reset his condition entirely. It was as if sleep refreshed his physical state completely.

Because of that, even if Kaito tried to end himself, he likely wouldn't succeed—the system would simply restore his body.

But in reality, that ability was gone.

Here, his body was no different from an ordinary human's.

Looking at Cafe clinging to him like a black cat, Kaito absentmindedly played with her tail. He remembered that when he used to touch her, she would instinctively lower her hips—another catlike habit.

"My friend kept pushing my waist… I wanted to slow down… but I couldn't…"

"Hm? What did you just say?" Kaito hadn't caught her murmured words.

"Trainer… do you have plans today?"

"A bit."

He needed to go out with Seiun Sky to trigger the story event.

"I'll wait for you—"

Knock, knock, knock.

Before he could finish speaking, a knock sounded at the door. For some reason, Kaito felt the same tension as "the last human on Earth hearing a knock." It had been so long since he'd heard one.

Someone was here.

"Trainer, are you in?" Seiun Sky's voice came from outside.

Sky?! Why was she here?!

Kaito glanced down at Cafe, who was still clinging to him on the bed. It was unclear whether she'd heard Sky's voice or not.

If the two of them ran into each other like this, it would be disastrous.

You could hug Uma Musume. You could even change positions and gestures. But if you were caught hugging one by another—

Sorry. Instant horror movie.

An Uma Musume sleeping with you ≠ you being allowed to sleep with another Uma Musume.

Kaito jumped up, scooped Cafe into his arms, and shoved her into the wardrobe.

"Don't come out until I open the door," he whispered urgently.

He opened the door.

Outside stood Seiun Sky, holding a fishing rod and tackle box.

When she saw him, her lips curved upward.

"You're slow, Trainer. What were you doing? Don't tell me you were secretly doing something bad behind my back? Surely not."

"I just woke up. You're up early."

Seiun Sky's gaze swept over him—he was wearing nothing but underwear.

"Trainer… I'm only noticing this now, but your body's actually pretty nice." She reached out, pale fingers tracing the faint firmness of his chest."Still, compared to an Uma Musume, it's lacking."

"You can't say that," Sky replied lazily. "Trainers are always at a disadvantage compared to Uma Musume. A man's muscles aren't about strength—they're about appearance. They give Uma Musume a sense of security. And they raise affection, too. For example—blip blip—my affection for you is skyrocketing right now."

She punctuated it with sound effects.

No wonder she loved rubbing against him so much in the game world.

Just as Seiun Sky was getting increasingly handsy, a thump came from the wardrobe beside them, abruptly stopping her movements.

"…Hm? Is someone there?"

"Probably something falling over," Kaito said quickly, changing the subject. "Should we head out now?"

"No rush. Trainer, tidy up first. Did you eat breakfast? Fishing takes time—if you don't eat, you won't last."

"I didn't."

"Trainer really doesn't take care of himself… then I'll make breakfast for you."

She set the fishing gear aside and walked into the kitchen, tying on an apron.

A line of text flashed before Kaito's eyes:

[Seiun Sky — Apron Outfit Unlocked]

…Apron? Unlocked?

What now?

After months of silence, a new system feature had appeared out of nowhere.

"Trainer, are you mesmerized by my apron?" Sky asked, holding a ladle with a smile. She looked like the perfect housewife—swap "Trainer" for "husband" and nothing would feel out of place.

Another noise came from the wardrobe.

Kaito snapped back to his senses, hurried into the bathroom, and washed up.

Soon, a full breakfast was laid out.

"No need to rush," Sky said as he devoured it. She pulled her chair closer and sat beside him. "We've got plenty of time. And besides… it's just the two of us in this room."

She leaned in and blew softly into his ear, a mischievous smile playing on her lips.

"Trainer, are you nervous? Being alone in a room with me? How innocent."

Innocent, my ass!Is there anyone dirtier than me? Among all reincarnators, I'm definitely the oddest one—I don't even bother hiding my desires.

Honestly, if it were just you, I'd already have done something. But Cafe's still here.

Kaito could only pray that Cafe wouldn't burst out like Teio and turn this into a two-Uma battle.

"So cute, Trainer," Sky said, tail swaying as she watched him eat.

"Let's go."

"Alright, alright. We finally get time alone and you're rushing me?"

Though technically, over there, it was two as well—so she didn't push it.

"You head outside first. I'll turn off the utilities."

"Then hurry up, Trainer."

Seiun Sky left the room.

Once she was gone, Kaito opened the wardrobe.

Cafe sat inside, hugging her knees, quiet as a porcelain doll. She was wearing Kaito's jacket, curled into herself.

"Cafe, I'm heading out for a bit." He lifted her onto the bed. "Stay here and play. You don't need to lock the door."

With that, he hurried out.

After the room fell silent once more, the blankets shifted slightly—gently covering the already-sleeping Cafe.
