The doorbell rang. A man in his forties entered, approached the stepmother, fixed his gaze on Chen Yu, and asked, "Is this the girl?" The stepmother nodded in confirmation. The man slowly approached Chen Yu. At that moment, Chen Yu began to scream. Chen Yu pleaded, "No, don't come closer! I'll give you whatever you want! You want money? I'll give you as much as you want, please don't come near me!" The man said nothing, silently approaching Chen Yu even closer. Chen Yu was now desperately screaming for help: "Help! Is anyone there? Help!"
At that moment, Lin Yang was approaching the house. Lin Yang asked, "How much further?" His personal assistant suddenly stopped the car. Lin Yang angrily said, "What happened, why did you stop?!" The assistant pointed to the building outside and said the girl lived there. Without hesitation, Lin Yang jumped out of the car and ran towards the building with his personal assistant and men. As soon as Lin Yang reached the door, he heard Chen Yu's cries for help and, with one swift movement, broke the door down. As the man reached out to grab Chen Yu, he heard the sound of the door breaking and looked behind him. Lin Yang roared, "Take your filthy hands off the girl!" Lin Yang ran and punched the man. The man collapsed to the ground, clutching his nose and shouting, "My nose!" Lin Yang signaled to his men; they grabbed him by the arms and pulled him away from the girl. The man shouted, "Who are you?" Lin Yang bent down, whispered something in his ear, and smirked. The man was shocked by what he heard and began to beg. Lin Yang stood up, approached the girl, and began to untie her hands. As the man was being led out, he screamed and pleaded: "Please, sir, forgive me! I didn't know the girl was on your side, spare my life! Her family called me! Her family sold her to me! Even though she tried to escape, they found her, knocked her unconscious, tied her hands, and called me. I'm innocent, her family did everything!" Lin Yang gestured with his hand, and the men grabbed him by the arm and dragged him out of the house. The man was still shouting, "Excuse me, sir!" Lin Yang turned to the girl and asked if she was alright: "Are you alright?"
Chen Yu: "I'm fine... Thank you for helping me. By the way, who are you?"
At that moment, the stepmother and stepfather were secretly trying to escape. Lin Yang turned his head and looked at them, saying, "Where are you going?" He gestured with his hand; the men caught both of them and brought them in front of Lin Yang, pushing them forward. The stepmother looked at Lin Yang with a fake smile and said, "Who are you and why are you interfering in family affairs?"
Lin Yang angrily said, "What family sells its daughter to a forty-year-old man?"
Stepmother: "I am her mother!"
Lin Yang: "Yes, you are her mother! How could you sell your daughter to an old man for money?!"
The stepmother was speechless. Chen Yu looked at her stepmother with teary eyes and asked in a trembling, heartbroken voice, "Mother... Did you ever love me? Did you ever see me as your daughter? Tell me the truth!"
His stepmother avoided his gaze and stammered a lie: "Of course... Of course I see you as my daughter and... I love you."
Chen Yu: "You can't even lie properly, it's not convincing at all. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten my childhood. You said you found me in the trash... That I'm worthless... That you never loved me. And my real family too..."
Chen Yu collapsed to the ground and whispered, "Nobody loves me, I'm so worthless." Lin Yang signaled to his men, and they took Chen Yu's stepmother and father away. While Chen Yu lay on the ground lost in thought, Lin Yang bent down and picked her up. "Let's go," he said. Chen Yu asked, "Where?" but her vision suddenly blurred, and she fainted in Lin Yang's arms. Lin Yang carried the girl to the car and called out to his personal assistant, "We're going home! Call the family doctor!"
