When Goku heard that, he burst out laughing.
He stood up and patted Krillin on the shoulder.
"Krillin, you jerk. I took two of Piccolo's laser shots for you—it hurt like hell. And now you won't even buy me a meal? That's stingy."
Krillin immediately checked his pocket.
"Hey, I've still got a Senzu Bean. You can eat this."
Goku shook his head.
"One Senzu keeps you full for ten days. No way I'm eating that. After a fight like this, if I don't have a proper feast, my stomach will revolt."
Krillin laughed.
"Fine, then let your girlfriend Bulma pay. She's rich."
Just then, Tien and Yamcha finally woke up.
They struggled to their feet and walked over, celebrating Demon King Piccolo's death together.
Only Goku felt a little regret—Piccolo was dead, and with him, the Dragon Balls were gone.
While they were celebrating, the King and his guard emerged from the underground shelter.
Seeing Piccolo's corpse split in two on the ground, both of them immediately bowed in gratitude.
"Thank you, young man! You saved the world!"
Goku waved his hands quickly and pointed at Krillin.
"Don't thank me. He's the one who killed Piccolo."
The King and the guard froze, then looked at Krillin.
"You did it? You killed Demon King Piccolo?"
Krillin nodded.
"Actually, the credit isn't really mine. Goku wore him down first. That's how I got my chance."
The King's face lit up.
"So it really was you! You and him are wearing the same martial arts uniform—are you from the same school?"
Goku glanced down at his bare chest and looked up, confused.
"I'm not even wearing a shirt. How can you tell?"
The King hurriedly explained,
"I saw it earlier before your clothes were blown apart."
Goku sighed.
"…Alright."
Krillin puffed out his chest proudly.
"Yes, Your Majesty. Goku and I are both disciples of Master Roshi!"
At the name, the King gasped in excitement.
"What?! You're Master Roshi's students? The Martial Arts God himself?"
Goku raised an eyebrow.
"Man, why are you reacting like you just saw a ghost…"
Krillin nodded again.
"Yes, you know our teacher too?"
"Of course! Master Roshi is a legendary martial artist of the world. How is he doing these days?"
Krillin replied honestly,
"He's doing great. He's over three hundred years old, and he was still going to nightclubs last night…"
The King and the guard both fell silent and exchanged a glance.
That part definitely can't go on the broadcast.
Just then, a plane flew in—it was Launch, bringing Bulma and Violet.
"Goku! Goku!"
They shouted toward the huge crater Piccolo had made.
Goku's face darkened as he quickly stood up and waved.
"Bulma, Launch—I'm over here!"
Violet saw him—but noticed he hadn't called her name.
Her expression turned a little sour.
"Goku, I'm hurt. You called them but not me."
Goku froze.
"Uh… um…"
Krillin burst out laughing.
"Hahaha! Goku, you're in trouble now. This is what happens when you attract too many girls!"
Violet was only teasing. She ran over and hugged Goku's arm.
"Look at you—your clothes are completely shredded. That fight must've been exhausting, right?"
Goku nodded.
"Yeah. I really pushed myself."
Violet's face suddenly flushed. She leaned in and whispered into his ear,
"Then let's hurry back. I'll help you take a nice, relaxing bath."
Krillin nearly jumped.
"What?! You're going to bathe him?!"
Violet shot him a glare.
"So what? I used to bathe him all the time when he was little!"
Krillin protested,
"That's different! Goku isn't a kid anymore!"
Violet crossed her arms.
"You idiot. I'm going to be his wife someday. This is just normal couple stuff. What's it to you?"
Krillin's face turned green.
"Damn it… Goku, I'm so jealous. I haven't even held a girl's hand, and you—!"
His eyes were almost tearing up.
Everyone else burst into laughter.
Goku patted Krillin's shoulder.
"Don't be sad, Krillin. You're the one who killed Demon King Piccolo—the King himself saw it."
"Once it's on the news, tons of girls will fall for you."
"We're about the same age and still growing, so make sure you don't get distracted by romance. Don't ruin your martial arts training!"
Krillin glared.
"Romance? What romance? You think I'm like you, surrounded by girls all the time?"
Everyone struggled to keep from laughing.
Just then—
Grrr~
Goku rubbed his stomach.
"Hahaha, sorry. My stomach has a mind of its own—it can't wait anymore."
Bulma urged them,
"Let's go! I'm hungry too!"
Launch held Goku's right arm.
"Goku, what do you want to eat? I'll make it for you when we get back."
Before long, everyone returned to Kame House.
A celebration feast was prepared. The table overflowed with food.
Everyone toasted and laughed—except Goku, who didn't touch a drop of alcohol and just kept eating nonstop.
"Cheers!"
"Let's celebrate Krillin killing the Demon King and saving the world!"
Krillin scratched his head awkwardly.
"Everyone out there treats me like a hero, and now you guys are teasing me too."
"Come on," Yamcha laughed. "We all know the real credit goes to Goku."
Goku chewed and smiled.
"It's fine, Krillin. I'm actually happier that you took the credit."
"Once you're famous, make lots of money—and treat me to lots of meals."
Krillin's face went stiff.
"Bulma told me you once spent ten million on a single meal. I can't afford you."
"No problem. As long as you're paying, even eating only eighty percent full is fine. Cheap food is fine too."
Krillin twitched.
"Eighty percent full? How many times do you expect me to treat you?"
"Are you planning to make me work just to feed you for the rest of my life?"
Bulma laughed.
"Relax, Krillin. My dad's the richest man in the world. Goku's never going to starve."
Krillin spread his hands helplessly.
"I know that, Bulma. I was just teasing him…"
"But you're always on his side. Sitting at this table is emotionally painful for me."
