Chapter 14 - 14 Blood Magic Ritual

Among this complex and chaotic knowledge of blood magic, only one ritual, called the Blood Puppet, could be used without being restricted by the bloodline of a blood sorcerer. Based on the effects described in this ritual, Gavin secretly guessed that this should be the method Qyburn would later use to resurrect the Mountain.

According to the book, the first step is to find a fresh corpse, which must be intact with minimal damage to the muscles and bones. Then, a series of mysterious and complex runes must be carefully drawn on the corpse's skin using special materials. These runes possess mysterious magic that can guide subsequent power to be infused into the body.

Next, special drugs are introduced and carefully injected into various parts of the body to ensure that the drugs are evenly distributed and to change the internal environment of the body.

After that, the most crucial moment arrives: the blood and medicine, imbued with magic, must be slowly and steadily injected into the corpse's blood vessels to gradually replace the original blood.

During this process, the speed, quantity, and location of each drop of blood injection are subject to strict requirements; the slightest mistake could lead to the failure of the ritual.

However, this magic is not considered particularly powerful in the records of blood sorcerers; in most cases, it is a method used by blood sorcerers to create their own servants.

Because a puppet's strength and level are limited by its condition before it was born, and if magic power is not regularly injected into the puppet's body, the puppet will be difficult to maintain.

The ritual was extremely complex, with the most crucial part being the injection of magical blood and special medicine into the corpse to replace its original blood.

This step requires extreme precision and caution; the slightest deviation could lead to the failure of the ritual. This is easy for a blood sorcerer who can manipulate blood, but it is the biggest challenge for others.

Suddenly, Gavin became interested, realizing that Qyburn had clearly overcome these difficulties later on. After all, he didn't believe Qyburn himself possessed magic, and the best source for injecting magical blood into the bloodstream was the master controlling the puppet. In this way, once the blood witch puppet was resurrected, it would be completely loyal to its master, obeying its commands and utterly losing its own identity.

Therefore, it's clear that Qyburn's modifications to the Mountain did not meet the requirements for a blood witch puppet. Because at the last moment, the Mountain was overcome by an uncontrollable obsession and chose to refuse to obey orders.

Gavin intently examined the list of materials and medicines presented for the ritual, his gaze slowly moving over the dense lines of text. His brow furrowed slightly, for among the many items, he could only recognize a portion of them.

However, even the materials and medicines he knew of exuded an aura of expensive rarity. Some of the herbs grew only on remote cliffs or in deep, mysterious ancient forests; the exotic minerals required a great deal of manpower and time to painstakingly excavate from deep underground. Fortunately, they were not unavailable if one was willing to spend the money.

Gavin, relying on his past experience and knowledge, deduced that the more he thought about it, the more alarmed he became. He slowly shook his head, secretly guessing that the production cost of a Blood Witch Golem was probably no less than 1,000 gold dragons, which was undoubtedly an astonishingly huge expense.

Gavin clicked his tongue, his brow furrowed, the tournament prize money still eluding him flashing through his mind. Even if the prize money arrived as scheduled and landed in his pocket, after careful calculation, he estimated it would barely be enough to make four Blood Witch Puppets.

Thinking of this, he couldn't help but sigh, his heart filled with helplessness and emotion: "Making money is still the primary problem at present, and in the future, it will probably continue to be a serious problem for me."

The good news is that if his guess is correct, the mysterious panel ability can significantly enhance the flesh puppet's strength and completely free it from the constraints and influences of its pre-death power. This means that even a corpse with mediocre strength in life could potentially become an incredibly powerful being through the enhancement of this mysterious power.

Gavin grew increasingly excited as he thought about it, but along with his excitement came worry about the future: "Building an undead army through this method is a long and arduous journey ahead!"

Gavin himself actually possessed numerous product ideas that could generate enormous wealth. However, whenever he thought about putting them into practice, a deep sense of powerlessness welled up within him.

He knew full well that with his current strength and status, he was simply unable to effectively protect the rights and interests of these goods.

Once these commodities demonstrate enormous profit potential, they will inevitably attract countless greedy wolves to devour them, just like tender, fatty meat.

Those in power and influence would never let go of any opportunity to plunder, and he was utterly powerless against them. He was already considering partnering with powerful people.

The next day, Gavin, carrying those precious books, arrived at Coburn's study door once again. He composed himself, raised his hand, and gently knocked on the door.

"Knock, knock, knock." The sound of knocking echoed in the quiet corridor.

"Come in," Qyburn's voice came from inside the house.

Gavin pushed open the door and stepped into the study, a polite and humble smile on his face. He bowed slightly to Coburn and said, "Sir Coburn, thank you for lending me these books."

Koben smiled and nodded, then asked, "So, how well do you understand the contents of the book?"

Gavin walked to the desk and began to articulate his views methodically. The two engaged in a deep discussion about various issues in the book, the atmosphere lively and focused.

Gavin's insights and understanding, far surpassing those of this world and imbued with magical power, greatly surprised Qyburn, as they undoubtedly solved a problem that had troubled him for a long time.

The two talked for a long time. Gavin leaned forward slightly, his eyes filled with expectation and earnestness, and said to Qyburn, "Sir Qyburn, this exchange with you has been very beneficial. I sincerely hope that, with your status as a scholar, I can have the opportunity to read more similar magic books to further broaden my horizons and knowledge. Would that be alright?" Gavin's hands were unconsciously rubbing together slightly, showing his nervousness and eagerness.

Coburn leaned back in his chair, scrutinizing Gavin with his eyes, his fingers lightly tapping the table. After a moment of contemplation, he said, "Gavin, this is no small matter. Most of those books are precious and secret, only scholars can borrow them. However, it's not impossible for you to see them, but you must promise to keep their secrets strictly." Coburn's expression was serious and solemn.
