Chapter 15 - Healing Mantra

A new day dawned, and in the early morning, Lin Chen was once again performing his routine professional training.

Thanks to Cheng Wei's exaggerated promotion, everyone had already grown accustomed to Lin Chen's training method of staring blankly at a tree. The only thing that made people marvel was the legendary Sparrow family, who would arrive precisely on time to stand guard for Lin Chen and beg for water.

After the camp expanded, Lin Chen had more trees to look after.

Although repeatedly sensing the same tree or even the same type of tree would yield diminishing returns, or even no returns, in a short period, Lin Chen never tired of it.

These trees, encompassed by his territory, were the invisible assets of his domain. Each day, he would use Sense Nature to regulate their natural aura and then nourish them with the spring of recovery, ensuring they would grow better and better.

In the morning, he still stayed at home, studying Spells.

Lin Chen's Spell learning speed was quite fast, all thanks to his higher Perception attribute than ordinary people; Nature was always willing to respond to him.

For example, Liu Luoluo, with 11 Perception, had only learned one 0 level cantrip, Cure Minor Wounds, and her casting was still unstable.

Opening his player handbook, Lin Chen still glanced at his attribute panel first.

"Huh? My Perception attribute has been fully digested?" He immediately noticed the difference.

[Attributes: Strength 8, Constitution 10, Dexterity 11, Intelligence 12, Perception 15, Charisma 11]

His Perception attribute had changed from "14+1" to "15," meaning the attribute point he had previously added to Perception had been fully digested.

During this time, he had genuinely felt the benefits of the Perception attribute, so he decided to continue adding his remaining 2 free attribute points to Perception.

He added 1 point first, making Perception "15+1," and his Mana value increased accordingly, from 60 to 70 points.

Yesterday, he had initially learned Entangle, and today Lin Chen planned to learn the healing Spell, Healing Word.

Healing Word could heal injuries on a target within casting range. The healing effect was related to the caster's Perception attribute; the higher the Perception, the better the healing effect.

If the caster directly touched the target during casting, the healing effect would also be better.

After he mastered the Spell theory and casting essentials, he had no target to test his knowledge on. Casting it on himself, even if successful, wouldn't allow him to determine his healing amount.

As noon approached, Lin Chen left his Treehouse and searched for a target in the camp.

Most people in the camp had gone out, and those remaining had no significant injuries.

"Forget it, I'll try it later when I have a chance," he was about to give up when he saw a group of people rushing into the camp.

"What's wrong? What happened?" He stopped Li Wei and the others.

"We hadn't been out long today when we encountered a group of people surrounded by zombies. There were some of our schoolmates among them. We managed to help them escape, but many people were scratched by the zombies. Luo Luo's boyfriend is the most severely injured..."

Lin Chen followed his gaze and saw Liu Luoluo squatting beside a boy, casting a Spell. Unfortunately, the wound was quite deep, and the 0 level Spell had little effect.

Fortunately, after becoming a professional, there was no need to worry about being infected by zombies. Although the wound was deep, it was not fatal.

"Luo Luo, can I try? I just learned a healing Spell today," Lin Chen said, eager to try. What a perfect casting target!

"Yes, yes, yes!" Liu Luoluo's eyes were filled with surprise. Her confidence in Lin Chen had skyrocketed since last night.

She moved to the other side, making room for Lin Chen, and didn't forget to comfort her boyfriend, "A Qing, don't worry, Big Brother Lin Chen is definitely better than me!"

Lin Chen didn't actually know how effective he could be, so he cast the Spell seriously, choosing touch casting to enhance the effect.

Fortunately, his previous studies had paid off, and he succeeded on the first try.

Unlike Liu Luoluo, the magical light that appeared in Lin Chen's palm was green. Both its intensity and size were much stronger than Liu Luoluo's Cure Minor Wounds. After all, one was a 1st level Spell and the other a 0 level Spell, and his Perception attribute was even higher.

The light covered Si Qing's arm wound.

Liu Luoluo watched Si Qing's tightly pressed lips and asked with concern, "A Qing, does it hurt?"

"Hmm... it doesn't hurt anymore, it's just really itchy..." Si Qing said, gritting his teeth.

"Then it should be effective, just bear with it," Liu Luoluo was relieved, and her focus gradually shifted to Lin Chen, who was casting. Other people's Spells always looked more powerful than hers.

If her Spell was a band-aid, Lin Chen's was a bandage. She wondered if she was a fake priest.

When Lin Chen finished casting and saw that the wound had mostly healed, he felt relieved. A Druid's healing amount was quite good!

"Hey, those zombies are following us! Everyone with a weapon, go! After we defeat them, we'll divide the drops based on kill records!" Li Wei shouted loudly, taking the advantageous position at the camp gate first.

Lin Chen looked back. Good heavens, so many? Were all the zombies in the Forest Park here?

He quickly went home to get his hoe. By the time he returned, everyone was already lined up at the camp boundary.

Lin Chen swung his hoe and joined them. After casting Shillelagh, the hoe, which had been slightly heavy for him, suddenly felt light as a feather. His standard hoeing movements created a blur, and wherever he struck, heads exploded.

[You killed Zombie x1, gained Kill Experience x1, Copper Coin x3]

...

[You killed Zombie x1, current level's Kill Experience usage limit reached, no longer gaining Kill Experience, gained Copper Coin x3]

After realizing his Kill Experience had reached its limit, Lin Chen stopped. There weren't many zombies left.

Since they hadn't picked up the drops yet, the zombie corpses piled up in front, blocking the scattered zombies in the back. Lin Chen also used Entangle to bind them and drag them to the entrance, making it easier for others to kill them.

Afterward, during the loot division, Liu Luoluo secretly asked, "Brother Ying Ying, would you mind revealing your Strength attribute? I absolutely won't tell anyone else! Look at the expressions on those men's faces. After today, they definitely won't dare to say you only have level but no combat power! Haha!"

"The day before yesterday you called me Little Brother Lin, yesterday it was Lin Chen, and today you're calling me Brother?" Lin Chen said, annoyed.

Liu Luoluo thought of the first time they met, when she tried to take advantage of him under the guise of forming a team, and lit a candle for her past self.

These high school students nowadays are incredible! Who would have thought that a seemingly soft and weak guy, half a head shorter than her, could be so efficient at smashing heads?

It was broad daylight, and she was close to Lin Chen, so she saw everything clearly, which had a huge impact.

She had already resolutely decided to cling to Lin Chen's leg, so calling him 'little brother' was out of the question!

Lin Chen was noncommittal about her persistence. Counting his age from his previous life, it was perfectly fine for him to be called 'Brother.'

But none of that was important. What was important was that he was about to level up.

[Profession: Druid LV1 (94/100)]

He only needed 6 more professional experience points to level up! Unfortunately, his Mana value was almost depleted, so he temporarily didn't dare to leave the camp. He could only think of ways within the camp, but the trees in the camp also couldn't yield much more.
