Boom! Boom! Boom!!!
"Hahahahaha! Not bad at all! Looks like you really have been keeping up with your Iron Fist training. Now I can rest easy."
Garp withdrew his fist—each one the size of a sandbag—and slapped Longinus' shoulder with a hearty grin.
"Thank you for your guidance, Vice Admiral Garp."
Longinus spoke calmly, as though the cluster of swollen bumps decorating his head like a Buddha statue didn't bother him at all.
He knew this day would come eventually—
ever since he caught Garp off-guard once and gave the old man a panda eye, divine retribution was inevitable.
Besides, Garp hadn't lied—
the deep "affection" packed into that Iron Fist really had pushed his control over willpower to a new level.
One had to admit, Garp was the embodiment of the rod-education doctrine.
If you could withstand it, the growth was explosive.
"Lieutenant Commander Longinus, my condolences," Borsalino said sympathetically.
Then his gaze drifted toward Dragon with pity.
One day of 'training' turned Longinus into this… what horrors did Dragon endure back then?
No wonder Dragon rarely showed up at the training camp.
Anyone with a head full of lumps would hide from the world too.
Kuzan and Sakazuki also glanced at Dragon with silent mourning.
His overwhelming strength could only mean one thing—
he must have endured far more "love" at Garp's hands than anyone his age should.
Dragon's mouth twitched violently.
If he told them he had NEVER been beaten like this when he was young…
would these three idiots believe him?
"Something terrible has happened—Vice Admiral Garp! Vice Admiral Dragon!"
A Marine Colonel burst through the door in a panic.
He froze when he saw Longinus' lump-covered head, almost thinking Fleet Admiral Sengoku had transformed.
"Ahem. What is it?" Garp asked, suddenly serious.
"O-oh!" The Colonel snapped out of it, all jealousy toward Longinus instantly turning into sympathy.
"It's… It's the Whitebeard Pirates! They're attacking!"
"Hahahahaha! That old guy Whitebeard isn't the type to take a punch without punching back.
We struck him yesterday—today he's already here to return the favor!"
Garp laughed and waved.
"Come on! Let's go take a look."
Sakazuki and the others followed, faces grim.
Anyone who had witnessed Whitebeard's cataclysmic attacks firsthand could never be as carefree as Garp.
"The Whitebeard Pirates…"
Even Longinus' calm heart stirred.
Now, and twenty years from now—
they were an undeniable pinnacle.
A mountain he wanted to face and surpass.
"Lieutenant Commander Longinus, your…"
The Colonel glanced awkwardly at his swollen forehead.
His eyes clearly said:
That… uh… look will crush morale. Maybe stay inside?
"One moment."
Longinus activated Life Return, calmly manipulating the bumps back into flat skin.
He silently sighed in relief—thankfully Garp's Iron Fist was mostly lingering pain, not permanent deformation.
The Colonel twitched.
Why are you so skilled at this?
How many times has Garp beaten you!?
G–5 Marine Base — Port
The Moby Dick, its bow carved into the shape of a whale, sat anchored in the frozen sea.
Behind it were ships of every size—followers of the Whitebeard Pirates.
Whitebeard himself stood at the prow, bisento in hand, his captain's coat snapping in the wind.
"Oi, Garp!
The gift you sent me yesterday—I received it loud and clear!
So today, it's my turn to send YOU a present!"
"Whitebeard, the best present would be you handing over your life!"
"Kurararara!
If you want my head, let's see whether you've got the strength to take it!"
"Gura Gura no Punch — Seaquake!"
Whitebeard straightened his massive torso and slammed his right fist into the air.
The atmosphere fractured.
Cracks spread across the sky itself.
The shockwaves crashed downward, heaving the sea into a titanic tsunami hundreds of meters tall—
enough to swallow the entire G–5 Base.
"Gulp…"
The officers who had arrived with Sakazuki but hadn't fought yesterday trembled uncontrollably.
"Is… is he really human…?"
"Ice Age!"
Kuzan leapt skyward.
A wave of glacial cold poured out from him.
The world froze.
Crack… crack… crack…
The tsunami solidified mid-crash.
The ice raced outward across the sea, locking the entire fleet of the Whitebeard Pirates in a frozen prison.
"We… we're alive! Vice Admiral Kuzan! Hurray!"
"Incredible! Truly deserving of the title 'Monster'!"
"To freeze an entire sea already…
As expected of Aokiji."
Even Longinus was impressed—
this level of power still far surpassed him.
"Not bad for an ice-playing brat!"
Even Whitebeard chuckled in praise.
"Ara ara… Geezer, you're being reckless," Kuzan replied dryly.
"Whitebeard!" Sakazuki roared as he shot into the air, molten magma bursting from his fists.
"You dared start this war—be prepared to DIE here!
Great Eruption!"
A meteor shower of magma crashed down.
"This fire is too flashy, brat.
Trying to light candles on my birthday cake, are ya?"
Whitebeard narrowed his eyes.
Such attacks meant little to him—
but his followers would be annihilated.
"Quake Blade — Jade Shatter!"
Whitebeard swung his bisento.
The vibration force burst forth, erasing the magma from its source.
By the time the remnants hit the ice, they were no more than pebbles.
"Ohhhhh~ how scary," Borsalino murmured.
"Facing monsters like this is too frightening~."
"But since the other two have made a move, it'd be rude not to join in.
Let's all pretend we didn't see anything, all right?"
"HEY!
You bastards ignoring us completely?!"
A man with pineapple-like hair, now in a blazing blue phoenix form, blocked the laser with a flaming kick.
"A battle between KINGS doesn't need YOU jumping in!"
"Ohhh~ the Whitebeard Pirates really are monsters."
"Still… how large is the gap between us and the strongest in the world…?
Dragon Claw!"
Dragon charged in, his right hand forming a dragon talon.
"You Marines really have no shame!
Before you beat me, don't think you can set foot on the road to the throne!"
Jozu transformed half his body into pure diamond, blocking the blow head-on.
"Hahahaha! Whitebeard, let me greet you properly—
Bone Meteor Fist — Giant Iron Ball!"
Garp had somehow found a ship-sized cannonball and hurled it like a baseball.
"Kurararara!
Enough with the warm-ups, Garp!"
Whitebeard swung his bisento—
the quake force erupted—
And the mammoth cannonball was reduced to powder.
Its fragments vanished into the cold wind.
