Chapter 2 - 02 Clementine

"A-Aaaaaaaahh! S-Stop!!"

"Ehehehehe, I like the way you scream. So, big sis will not stop~"

"Aaaaaaaaahhh!!"

The anguished scream of a man in pain echoes in the middle of the night, while a twisted and sadistic laugh resonates among the trees in the forest alongside it.

The sound continues for thirty minutes until the man's eyes turn blank and he dies of blood loss, his face perpetually twisted in pain.

"Aaaaahh~ That was really fun."

Splash!

She swings her stiletto to get rid of the blood and rips the golden plate from the man's necklace, then puts it in her armor, increasing her collection.

"Hmmm, that's enough prey for today, I hunt again tomorrow~"

She twirled her stiletto and put it at her side. She then strode out of the area, leaving several bodies full of blood behind her, while a smile of satisfaction spread across her face.

"Should I kill Khajiit? His only use is for a meat shield—"

She was pondering her next move when her instinct told her of danger, and without a shred of doubt, she instantly dodged out of the way.

BOOOOM!!

An explosion happened where she had previously stood, and a big crater appeared on the ground while a cloud of dust spread everywhere.

"It's rude to ambush a weak and helpless lady~"

She grinned widely and looked at the tree on the right side of the explosion, as if there were something in the empty space in front of it.

"I don't see a weak lady anywhere, former member of the Black Scripture, Clementine."

A young man with blonde hair, wearing a long-sleeved black robe adorned with silver edges, shimmered into existence in front of the tree, holding a black metallic staff with a blue gem on top in his right hand, and a light smile stretched across his face.

Her body tensed up upon hearing her identity exposed, and she reached her hand closer to her stiletto, but her face was still smiling widely.

"I didn't know big sis was this popular, may I know who you are?"

If this stranger is a member of the Windflower Scripture, she is going to kill him as fast as possible once she sees an opening and get out of here immediately.

"I am just an ordinary magic caster who is interested in you," he said and calmly approached her as if he were seeing an old friend.

"Aaaaahh~ Did you want my body, perhaps?"

She spread her robe open and showed her sexy body wearing bikini armor made from the adventurer plate of her victim to distract him as her eyes scanned the surroundings to see if they were alone.

It seemed he noticed that and stopped in his tracks as he made a confused face while staring at her. Then his eyes opened wide in realization, and he said.

"If you are wondering if I am part of the Theocracy, you are wrong; I am not member of their secret agent."

Although she relaxed a bit hearing that, because it meant there was no reinforcement from the Theocracy, she would not let her guard down just because of that.

"Then who are you? I never heard of a strong magic caster in this region."

She searched her memories to remember, but she found no one except a member of the adamantite adventurer team Blue Rose, which was obviously not the case, because the person in front of her was male.

"Let me introduce myself; my name is Nfirea Bareare, and I am known as an alchemist," he said, putting his left hand on his right chest while bowing politely like a gentleman.

"I see, I remember now, you are that a genius alchemist who reached 4th tier magic at a young age, but it seems the rumor is wrong; you are much stronger than that!"

She licked her lips, with the image of his confident face breaking and the look of horror in his eyes, realizing their difference in strength flashing in her mind.

She is still confident in winning the fight against him, despite him being almost on the same level as her. After all, she is someone who reached the realm of heroes long ago; there is no way a young man like him can defeat her, beside he is just alchemist.

"Thank you for your praise and for your previous question—"

He paused and suddenly pointed his staff toward her and said, "Yes, I want your body, [Lightning]."

She lightly twisted her body and dodged the lightning attack. She then activated her martial art {Ability Boost} and quickly rushed toward him while laughing maniacally.

The young alchemist quickly raised his hand, and a wall made of earth rose from the ground, separating them and obscuring her vision.

She, without care, jumped over the wall, and five [Magic Arrows] greeted her instantly the moment she crossed it.

She skillfully destroyed all five [Magic Arrows] with her stiletto and softly landed on the ground.

Her eyes narrowed; in the time she was doing all of that, he had already put a large distance between them and was preparing another spell.

Unwilling to be played again, she threw off her robe and crouched her body to the ground as low as possible.

"{Greater Ability Boost}, {Pace of the Wind}."

Whoosh!

Her speed boosted significantly, and she suddenly appeared in front of him as if she had teleported, making his eyes widen as he hurriedly cast his magic.

"[Triplet Maximize Magic: Magic Barrier]!!"

Crack!

There was the sound of glass breaking, and the barrier cracked from being stabbed by her.

As she was about to attack again for a second time, she saw from the corner of her vision that he was swinging his staff toward her, and she immediately parried it with her left hand while enhancing her weapon with {Fortress}.

Clang!

"Ugh!"

She knocked his arm back, and in panic, he raised his hand toward her to cast another spell, but before he could do anything, she pulled her right hand back and stabbed again toward the crack, making it grow larger.

She immediately activated the spell in her stiletto, and an explosion erupted from the tip, breaking the barrier into pieces.

She then spun her body and put all her strength into her leg, kicking at him, while he blocked it just in time with his staff and was thrown back several meters.

"As expected from a former member of the Black Scripture, you are strong. I guess I am overestimating myself," he said while stabilizing his stance and staring at her with more wariness in his eyes.

"Thank you, you are not bad yourself~"

She changed her used-up stiletto for another one and stared at him curiously.

"For a magic caster, you really have a strong body."

She remembered the feeling of parrying his attack; she felt that his strength was almost reaching her level. Even though she focused on speed, being able to match her in strength was still impressive.

"Well, there is a perk to being an alchemist," he said while pointing his staff toward her, and his eyes looked more serious than before.

"[Mental Disturb]."

"Aaaaarrgh!!"

She screamed her lungs out and tightly grabbed her head as a sharp headache suddenly assaulted her mind.

She tightly closed her eyes as she kept feeling pain pounding at her head every second, making her mind feel hazy.

But she didn't have any time to deal with it because she felt danger coming her way and started to run toward the tree for cover.

BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM!

The ground continued to tremble as explosions kept happening behind her, while she kept running between the trees, trying hard not to stumble on anything.

After running for a while and being about to pass out from the constant pain in her head, she catches sight of a big boulder out of the corner of her eye and starts to run and hide behind it.

She then takes a deep breath and concentrates her mind away from the pain for a moment before she activates her martial arts.

"{Dull Pain}."

The tension in her body immediately relaxes as she can feels her pain slowly lessen, and she can finally take a deep breath in comfort.

"Damn! I underestimated him!"

Crack!

She punches the boulder she leans on in anger, with the thought that a young mage and not to mention alchemist can catch her off guard; it is humiliating to her.

"With my speed, it should take a while for him to catch up."

She says, and then prepares herself by activating two more martial arts: {Enhanced Magic Resistance} and {Flow Acceleration}, treating this battle more seriously than before.

After waiting for a while, she jumped out from behind the boulder after sensing he was nearby and immediately rushed toward him.

"[Triplet Maximize Magic: Magic Barrier]!!"

He cast another [Magic Barrier], but she didn't care and immediately attacked the barrier to break it.

"I won't let you do that! [Twin Maximize Magic: Shockwave]!"

"Ugh!"

She was thrown back for several meters and immediately rushed back to him while dodging several [Fireballs] coming her way.

She needed to finish this as soon as possible because she didn't have much time; activating six martial arts simultaneously was really draining for her stamina.

Another shockwave came toward her, and she dodged it by jumping high above him. She then switched her stiletto for her mace, raised it above her head, and smashed it downward with all her strength.

Bang!! Crack!!

The barrier immediately broke as the young alchemist's eyes widened, and he hurriedly raised his staff with both hands to defend against her mace.

Bang!

"Nnngh!"

Seeing an opening, she immediately kicked toward his abdomen, throwing him back and hitting the tree with his eyes wide open and blood spurting out of his mouth.

She didn't give him time to recover and threw her stiletto toward him. In a hurry, he blocked it with his left hand, and the stiletto stabbed into his arm.

"Aaaaarrgh!!"

A pained scream rang pleasantly in her ear as she activated the spell in the stiletto, making an electric charge strike him. Without caring about the pain, he forcefully pulled the stiletto out of his arm and threw it away.

"Ahahahaha~"

She let out a maniacal laugh at seeing him suffer, and a tingle of pleasure spread in her spine while she hugged herself out of excitement.

She continued to laugh as his face grimaced while looking at her, and he slowly got himself up using his staff with his right hand, while his left hand had already become limp and smoke came out of it.

"Ehehehe, you are no match for the great Clementine, and I will make sure you get ten times the pain you inflicted on me."

She walked slowly and confidently toward him, thinking that she had already won, seeing him in a mess as a wide grin spread on her face.

"H-Huh?"

She suddenly felt her body weaken, and she fell toward the ground in a crouching position with a look of confusion.

"Poison?!"

She looked up in surprise after checking her body condition and seeing him looking down at her with a victorious smile, her suspicion confirmed.

"D-Damn...it!"

She felt her body gradually become heavier and heavier; her hands couldn't hold her body anymore, and she sprawled onto the ground.

The last thing she saw was him drinking a potion, and his injury gradually healed.
