Chapter 7 - Attatched…? Never.

Shigaraki

His fire.

It's hot.

Too hot.

But that also means it's strong.

He brought down the entire building on his second ever strike.

The wall went out first, I knew the moment it started to crumble that I needed to get out. But I grabbed Midoriya? Why? Because I need his power.

I open the door again, the ruin places back on the frame to act as a gateway to the false reality, and what I see sends shivers up my spine. The room itself is gone, replaced by a large pile of rubble from the remaining bits of the walls. Outside of it are miles of fields, a trail of crumbled rocks on the ground for an arguably far reach in the direction Midoriya struck.

I turn my head down to face Midoriya, who's sitting on the ground, staring through the door. When he looks up and locks eyes with me, I see a mix of delight, fear and power flowing in his irises. He's smiling for what I believe is the first time since he got here. It's intoxicating, the power that flows through your veins, and I've witnessed the moment my future successor got addicted to this power.

Where did that come from? 'Future successor'?

No matter, this kid has power, and I'm more than delighted, even though now that means that my master must never know of his existence, he hasn't said anything so far, so I can probably hide him for a while longer.

But then you have to send him back home.

No I don't.

Just because I have to keep him secret, doesn't mean getting rid of him.

But he would be happier where he came from.

So what? While he's here, I'm happy. And my happiness is what matters.

"Oh yes. I like you, Izuku Midoriya."

Midoriya blinks a few times then scrambles to his feet and makes frantic writing gestures with his finger; his mouth moving in silence and his eyes bursting with urgency that seems a bit too excited. That's right, his notebook. I enter the doorway and make my way to where we were when the ceiling begins to collapse, I catch the glimpse of the X and touch the surrounding debris, one finger at a time.

As the debris turns to dust and blows away in the wind, I see the corner of the notebook, the pen tucked within the first page.

"Midoriya, get your ass over here." I call, holding out the notebook.

He takes the book and writes for a minute or two, handing me back the paper when he's done. "Did you see? it looked like it was burning you, are you okay? What did you do with the rubble, did you turn it into dust? How? Can I try it again? Probably not right away but at some point can I try to go all out?"

"Geez. Okay… Here we go, Yes I saw, it was not burning me, yes I turned the debris to dust, and yes, you can do it again. Soon." I hand it back and take another look around, "Lets get you back to your room, I have something for you."

Midoriya nods in response and follows me through the halls, his eyes darting around, making note of his surroundings. I stop in front of his room, blocking the entry for a moment, "The bathroom is right there." I point to the room directly across the hall. "I'll be back in a moment, change your clothes, you're covered in dust."

Midoriya looks down, pulling the edges of his shirt out to get a good look at the dusty fabric. He nods slightly and darts over to the bed, pulling out the new clothes I gathered for him. I wasn't sure what size he wore, but it appears that I chose right. His eyes catch on something in the bag and he pauses, pulling out the rubix cube I packed in for him after he looked so bored yesterday.

"You looked bored. It was the only thing I had laying around." I say coldly, starting to walk away from his room, I leave the door open too, I feel that if I didn't he would feel like he's supposed to stay in the room instead of using the bathroom to change like I intended. He changed his clothes last night while I was sleeping, before I got the chance to show him somewhere better to do so.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I should get him a clock. Time must be somewhat confusing in that room. And the bed doesn't look very welcoming either… If I'm going to get him to join the league, I need him to see me- I mean us as allies.

For a while there, I was worried about the possibility of his quirk activating and hurting him, but it appears that his fire doesn't burn him. I can add that the the list of things I wont need to worry about.

I check behind me as I turn the corner, Midoriya crosses the hall and enters the bathroom, not even looking to see if I was still here. Oh well.

"How did it go?" Kurogiri asks as I cross the bar, its golden yellow lights giving everything a warm feeling. "Does he have a good quirk?"

I smile tightly, "Oh yes, I've decided I'm going to recruit him to the league of Villains. Whether he wants to or not."
