Chapter 4 - Blood

"~Ahn"

"S-slow down," she let out a moan as she said in a tone that sounded seductive, at least, in his ears anyway.

Noah had no intention to.

His fangs were deeply buried into the lady's neck as he continued getting lost in the feeling of ecstasy her blood provided.

But why?

Why was he suddenly drinking the blood of a stranger so aggressively?

[A Few Minutes Earlier]

Noah walked down streets, completely lost in his thoughts.

He hadn't even realized that his feet had led him down an alleyway until he almost crashed into a wall.

He snapped out of his thoughts, wondering how he had trailed so far off the streets.

He looked around, noticing that although there was barely any light around, the alleyway was really clear.

Before he could get this chance to admire his enhanced vision, a scream snapped him out of his thoughts.

"Help!"

The voice sounded female and didn't seem that far from him, but he also knew that this was a normal occurrence around these parts and getting involved wouldn't turn out well for him.

So why the hell was he running towards the sound at speeds he didn't know his body was capable of.

The closer he got to the sound, the more a very familiar scent hit him and the more he felt his consciousness slip.

The red glow in his eyes were getting brighter, so much so that he was sure he could see the heat produced by the rays in this alleyway.

Noah also realized that he was getting faster as the seconds passed.

He was soon faced with a high wall but instead of slowing down, he ran straight to it, and the moment he was close enough, he hopped.

Unsure of what was supposed to happen, the last thing Noah expected was to find himself at least ten feet in the air.

He didn't get the chance to be surprised as he could see three heat signatures beneath him.

His mind barely had time to register what he was seeing before gravity reclaimed him.

Noah was forced to the ground again, and his legs slammed into the concrete. But instead of them breaking, a crater was formed beneath his feet.

One of the figures was thrown off balance by the shockwave, which caused him to slam into the wall with a strangled grunt.

The remaining two froze in both surprise and shock.

"What the hell—?" one of them started.

Noah slowly lifted his head and glanced at them. His red glowing eyes immediately forced them to stay still as fear overcame them.

Only then did he fully take in the scene.

A woman was pressed against the wall behind them, her clothes torn, eyes wide and glassy with panic.

There was a thin trail of blood running down her arm where she'd been cut. It was small and insignificant.

It might as well have been a beacon.

The scent hit him like a freight train and that's he felt something snap within him. Noah was completely gone, now replaced by a beast that only felt hunger.

His eyes were now burning intensely with red, and his fangs had fully grown out.

The man who had slammed into the wall earlier, stood up again, confused, but he didn't get a moment to understand what was going on before a hand grabbed his face.

"Huh?" Was the only thing he could say as the world flipped upside down and his head met the concrete.

The other man watched in horror as Noah slammed his partner's head into the ground over and over again, until it was nothing but a bloody mess.

The scariest part was the fact that he had a large grin on his face as he did.

By the time he was done, his hand was completely bloody and the man's head was unidentifiable at this point.

Noah slowly stood up and curiously look at the blood on his hand. His curiosity got the better of him as he place his bloodied hand on his lips, only to almost hurl the next second.

The blood tasted a lot worse than normal food were, he was instantly disgusted and he looked directly at the other man who was still in shock.

The man looked at Noah's eerily glowing eyes and started taking steps back, "s-stay back you monster."

If Noah was still in control, maybe he'd have listened, unfortunately for the man, he wasn't.

Before he could blink, his vision suddenly switched and he was presented with the view of a headless body.

Blood sprayed out the neck as Noah held the head firmly in his grip. The man's eyes quickly lost their glow as the life was snuffed out of them.

Noah, or rather, the monster that was now in control looked at the blood spraying out the man's headless body as it fell to the ground before giving it a disgusted look.

He tossed the head away and turned to his final prey.

His instincts were telling him one thing, this prey was food, and her taste would be as disgusting as the other two were.

The woman, at this point, had crumpled to the floor with a yellow liquid pooling underneath her while she trembled, looking at the beast before her.

She knew one thing for certain, she would die if that thing got any closer and there was nothing she could do about it.

Noah lunged towards the woman but before he could reach her, he was yanked backward and thrown several feet away, crashing into the opposite wall.

"Run," a different voice commanded, snapping the woman awake.

She suddenly gained control of her limbs again, as she scrambled to her feet and bolted out of the alley way.

The person who just arrived turned to Noah, who, at this point, was out of the rubble created by the wall and he was clearly completely feral.

The person let out a sigh as she said, "I knew this would lead to a disaster, but not this fucking fast."

But she was to blame for this mess, so she had to fix it.

Using her nail, she created a shallow cut on her neck, allowing just enough blood to flow out before it healed.

"Come on then," she said with both arms open, "it's dinner time."

Like a wild beast, Noah lunged towards her, pressing her to the wall, and without warning,

Sank his fangs into her neck.
