You changed me," Liora said without inflection. "You wanted answers badly enough to torture an innocent woman. Now you have two guilty men who actually deserve it. Are you going to let legal technicalities stop you from getting the truth?"
He didn't answer immediately. Just stared at her, seeing the cold, ruthless creature he'd created from the frightened princess.
"We interrogate them tomorrow," he said finally. "Both of them. Separately. We find every pressure point, every weakness, every thread we can pull until one of them breaks."
"And if they don't break?"
"Then we make them wish they had," Thessian said grimly.
He walked to the elevator without another word, leaving Liora alone in her cage surrounded by evidence of conspiracies that reached into the highest levels of two governments.
