Chapter 2 - Re;

You might think reality to be a concept tantamount to existence itself, yet, you couldn't be more wrong.

From the beginning of creation – Something beings across the entire universe, and other universes as well, called 'Deus Ex Machina' occurred. A primordial will was spawned into an empty, untouched plain, and it just began endlessly creating without end.

It created a singular reality which stored five universes.

It then proceeded to expand the universes, give it meaning, give it live, laws, rules, everything.

And so, beings were birthed; Gods, Titans, Primeval beings, Spiritual lifeforms, Digital entities, even your regular run of the mill humans, elves, demons. Dimensions were created, allowing entities to perceive what they normally should not be able to.

But…

What does this have to do with anything?

That's what you're probably wondering right now.

Well, one day, an inexplicable event occurred.

A group of three entities banded together to kill primordial will. These beings are what you may call Null Gods. Beings who preach un-making, who's sole mission is to make everything in existence, un-exist.

They worked tirelessly for aeons, studying the fundamental laws of reality, finding what cog they could remove to make the whole machine collapse in on itself.

And then, after an indefinite amount of time, they saw something. A premonition, a small, eruptive flaw in the deepest parts of reality.

Primordial will.

The being who conducted 'Deus Ex Machina'

And then, they killed it…

Almost.

You see, Primordial will is sort of a special case. No-one knows where it came from, nor what its goal is, in truth, no-one knows anything about it – all they knew was the fact that Primordial will is their creator, and for that reason it was revered with absolute faith across all five universes.

But of course, there will always be a wolf among a pack of sheep. And trust me when I say, there were many.

But, most of the wolves were scared of the consequences of going against Primordial will, they feared the repercussions of what may happen – so they silenced themselves.

The Null Gods however were fearless, and so they didn't care about going against it.

Especially since the only way to un-make reality was to get rid of Primordial will. They discovered that along with being the creator of reality, it was also a glue which holds everything together and prevents it from fracturing.

On the fateful day, the three Null Gods ventured out of their universe, into the true vessel of reality where the universes were stored, and they proceeded to attack Primordial Will.

However, Primordial Will was no pushover, he was the creator – but indeed, he was just the creator, not the controller, not the omnipotent, only a creator.

Their battle lasted aeons. It was a true balance, Oblivion against genesis, both sides wrapped in an eternal stalemate.

But then, Primordial Will suddenly…

Gave up?

It stopped fighting, and it let the Null Gods 'kill it'.

Yes, the Null Gods won, right?

Reality should've siezed to exist, that's how everything was supposed to go.

Alas, the truth is often disappointing.

What the Null Gods thought would come was something akin to true end. The discontinuance of reality, but what they didn't factor in was the fact that Primordial Will is immortal – and that reality is an endless cycle.

Primordial Will was killed that day, reality siezed to exist that day, everything was destroyed that day.

Everything was restarted that day, all of the Gods died without even knowing it, humanity siezed to exist, every dimension de-spawned out of reality – reality drowned in an ocean of invisible blood. And then that blood drained, because now, reality was no more.

All that was left was an untouched plain, completely aberrant to what it once was.

And then, the cycle restarted as a spark seemed to begin forming at the centre of this expanse.

At first it was but a small cluster of atoms, no larger than a cell, and over the span of nine months,

it grew.

There was no barrier round it though, nothing to protect it, but was there anything that could attack it?

Nine months passed hastily as a new being emerged. The resurrection of Primordial Will.

Previously, when it was whole, Primordial Will was a shapeless, formless entity, and yet, it took many forms. In total, it had 38 full forms it utilised regularly, one of them being gaseous, spiritual mass of pure energy.

What was floating in the empty expanse right now was that exact gaseous, spiritual mass of pure energy.

You see, what happened before Primordial Will died was that it had an epiphany, it had realised that even though it would die, it would re-spawn, albeit weaker, but it would be able to regain all of its old power once all 38 of its full forms are re-integrated within its current form.

However, it can only become its full self after all of the forms have spawned in – and then it would absorb them all at once.

Now, even though Primordial Will was young again and abhorrently weak, it was still able to create a reality, although it was magnitudes weaker than the original. With the reality formed, it was able to create a budding universe which would continue to grow, allowing the spawn of his other thirty-seven forms over time.

Millions of years pass before life manages to emerge in the new, singular universe, and with it comes all of its processes; war, survival, evolution and the likes.

This time, there were no Gods, no titans, no complex lifeforms of that nature. At first there were only beasts, then humans, and then a myriad of other simple lifeforms (according to the Primordial Will).

With it came the occurrence of a fated eventuality.

Large cataclysms which occurred randomly throughout the universe – masses of sublime energy all escaped from the origin of these events.

At first, the inhabitants of the universe were left confused as they have never experienced anything like this before. They would go to the site of where the energy emerged from; but eventually came to realise the fact that this energy is too pure for them to move through without the proper protection.

They soon discovered that what lay at the center of the cataclysmic event was a being, an entity birthed of nothingness, and over time, many of these entities started spawning.

And right now, after the most recent spawn, there are thirteen in total in this universe.

After the fifth spawn, these beings were given the title of 'fabric of origin' as a result of their immensity.

Many of these entities went on to govern domain, terrorise vast areas of space, dictate the course of the universe itself. But, not everything was easy for them. Some of the ones that spawned began to get captured after the inhabitants of the universe evolved and learned more about them. They became enslaved, used for the gain of mortals who should've been below them.

And yet, captured or free, they were unknowing of the harrowing fate that resided around the corner.
