Chapter 57 - CHAPTER 57: THE BROADCAST

The first image appeared on a private military network.

A grainy sonar rendering of the ocean floor, interrupted by something that did not belong there. Curved metallic walls stretched outward beneath layers of sediment and engineered camouflage. The structure was too symmetrical to be natural, too large to be ignored.

Within minutes, the file had moved through three secure channels.

Within ten minutes, it reached rooms that rarely agreed on anything.

And within thirty minutes, the world began to ask questions.

In Washington, a senior intelligence officer leaned over a conference table while the image rotated slowly on the central display.

"That structure is massive," someone said.

"Could be an abandoned research station," another voice suggested.

The first officer shook his head.

"Not at that depth."

A third person spoke quietly.

"And not with a signal pattern like the one we intercepted."

Silence settled over the room.

One word finally broke it.

"Who built it?"

Across the Atlantic, a similar conversation unfolded in a different language.

Military analysts examined the same scan, tracing the lines of the structure with careful attention.

"This isn't new construction," one of them said.

"No."

"It's been there for years."

"And nobody noticed?"

The room grew quiet again.

"Someone noticed," another analyst replied.

"They just never told us."

Meanwhile, on the reconnaissance vessel above the Pacific, the drone operators continued gathering data.

The ocean storm had begun to fade, leaving long rolling waves under a grey dawn sky. Another drone descended into the water, its lights cutting through the dark depths.

The outline of W-03 grew clearer.

Multiple levels.

Massive support structures.

Energy readings far beyond ordinary research installations.

The captain watched the display with growing fascination.

"Send everything we've got," he said.

The technician hesitated.

"To which command?"

The captain smiled faintly.

"All of them."

Deep beneath the ocean, W-03 had already detected the broadcast.

Inside the command center, the analysts watched external networks explode with activity.

"Global attention increasing," someone reported.

Director Han stood quietly at the center of the room.

"Of course it is."

"Sir, the images are spreading faster than we can contain."

Han's eyes moved slowly across the display.

"That was inevitable the moment the drones arrived."

Another analyst turned toward him.

"What happens when governments start asking who built this place?"

Han's voice remained calm.

"They won't ask who built it."

He paused.

"They'll ask who controls it."

In the research wing, Eun-chae watched the global broadcast unfold across the console.

News channels were already beginning to pick up fragments of the story.

Speculation moved quickly.

Hidden research bases.Experimental military installations.Deep ocean energy stations.

None of them close to the truth.

Yet.

She leaned back against the counter.

"Well," she said quietly.

"We're famous."

Tae-Hyun stood beside her, watching the scrolling data with steady attention.

"Not yet."

She glanced sideways.

"Give it an hour."

The hum inside him felt different again.

It had been quiet earlier, almost reflective. Now it carried a faint tension, responding to the sudden focus of millions of eyes searching for answers.

Attention changed systems.

People believed attention only existed in human minds.

But architecture responded to it too.

"They're watching," Eun-chae said softly.

"Yes."

"And the building knows."

He nodded.

"Everything connected to the network knows."

In another part of the facility, Colonel Seo stood with several tactical officers around a private operations console.

Unlike the main command room, this space carried a sharper atmosphere.

Less discussion.

More decision.

"The moment those images spread," one officer said, "external forces will move."

Seo crossed his arms.

"They already have."

"And when they arrive?"

Seo's gaze shifted toward the lower sectors.

"They'll want the same thing everyone else does."

"The core?"

"No."

Seo's voice lowered slightly.

"They'll want the person who can control it."

Back in the research wing, Eun-chae felt a quiet ripple move through the architecture.

Not the broad pulse of the core.

Something more specific.

Like a signal threading through the facility.

She straightened.

"Tae-Hyun."

He felt it too.

A faint digital transfer moving across the internal system.

"Someone's sending a message."

"To who?"

He studied the data flow carefully.

"Us."

The lab console flickered.

A secure channel opened automatically.

A single line of text appeared.

THEY WILL COME FOR YOU FIRST.MEET ME IN SECTOR C-17.COME ALONE.

Eun-chae frowned.

"No signature."

Tae-Hyun examined the code structure.

"Internal encryption."

"Someone inside W-03."

"Yes."

She folded her arms.

"Do we trust it?"

"No."

A faint smile touched her lips.

"Good."

Across the world, the broadcast continued spreading.

News stations replayed the mysterious ocean images again and again.

Experts debated their origin.

Speculation climbed higher by the hour.

Few people yet understood what they were looking at.

But one conclusion had already formed in the minds of powerful institutions.

If something that advanced existed beneath the ocean…

Someone had built it.

And someone inside it would know how it worked.

Back inside W-03, Tae-Hyun closed the message window.

The hum inside him had sharpened slightly.

Curiosity.

Danger.

Opportunity.

Eun-chae watched him carefully.

"So," she said.

"Sector C-17?"

He nodded once.

"Yes."

"And the person who sent that message?"

His gaze turned toward the dark corridor beyond the lab.

"We're about to find out."

Above the ocean, satellites continued circling.

Below the water, W-03 prepared for a world that had finally begun to notice it.

And somewhere inside the facility, someone had decided it was time for Tae-Hyun to learn something even Director Han had never revealed.
