"Leysha…?"
I didn't expect Leysha to immediately notice me, even though I now looked like Atreus in my world: a 40-year-old man with no job, no money, and no home.
Leysha didn't look like a maid, but rather like a feminine woman, wearing a blouse and long skirt, exuding an aura of elegant.
Her long hair made her look even more graceful, not to mention her youthful beauty, like that of an 18-year-old!
"You tricked this poor girl? You're truly disgusting, Atreus…" Ela snapped at me as soon as Leysha grabbed her.
"She has nothing to do with you or my past. Your business and mine are over," she said firmly.
Ela still had her annoying expression, staring Leysha with cold and cruel. "Poor, naive girl… I'm sure you won't survive a month living with these homeless people," Ela sneered.
"I remain loyal to Baron Atreus!" Leysha asserted.
"Oh...hahahaha! 'Baron,' she said...?! Are you on hallucinogenic drugs that your innocent and naive powers have to call this homeless person Baron?! Pathetic! If I were you, I'd rather find—"
SLAP!
Leysha's slap flew, landing so fast that it nearly knocked Ela over.
"Mom...!" I saw Reta looking like she was about to cry because her mother looked like she was about to faint.
Oh my.
I didn't expect Leysha to slap me that hard.
Although, inside, I was actually quite satisfied that Leysha had taken the initiative to teach my annoying ex-wife a lesson.
"Leysha...control yourself," I whispered, restraining Leysha from hitting Ela further.
"Baron Atreus…! She's been incredibly rude to you…! My magic may be sealed by a curse, but I'm going to beat her up because—"
"Okay, enough, Leysha. Listen to me." I interrupted, gently pulling her away so she could hear me whisper. "We're no longer in Vermillion territory, Leysha. We're in another world. Don't make a scene, or it'll distract the enemy. Just follow my instructions, okay?" I continued firmly.
"B-but, Baron, I—"
"One more thing, just call me Atreus here. I'm glad you're standing up for me, dear. But in this place, don't be reckless. I hope you understand that," I continued, kissing her cheek.
Leysha immediately blushed.
Her cheeks flushed, and she averted her gaze from me.
Good.
It seemed her anger had subsided.
"Bastard! You damn bitch…!"
Ela's angry cry rang out.
Before Leysha could move, I pulled her back to avoid further confrontation.
"What kind of bitch did you take, Atreus?! She beat me! I can sue you for this!"
Oh my god, seeing her screaming with rage and her makeup half-faded almost made me vomit.
"You're lucky Leysha didn't finish you off, Ela. Go away," I said, holding my breath.
"You're a bad man! I'll report you to Dad!" Reta called someone, who knows who.
"You attacked me, Atreus! I can defend myself!" Ela pulled out her taser gun.
This bitch has a taser gun?!
In this state, Leysha and I couldn't possibly defend against that taser gun.
I had to do something!
My gaze still audible to Ela, and I summoned the Spirit Rhaevor.
Ela's body suddenly trembling with her face become pale.
She wasn't looking at me, but at someone tall, large, and muscular behind me.
She currently locked at Rhaevor, who was staring at her with a murderous intent that suffocated her breath.
"M-Monster…! I'm scared…!" Reta immediately hugged Ela because she saw the same thing.
But Ela was still trembling, unable to even hug and secure Reta because she was so afraid to see Rhaevor.
They both even wet themselves in fear!
I never thought I'd still be able to use my magic even though I'd returned to my original world.
Baron Atreus Vermillion's power was still in my control!
I deliberately only had Rhaevor stand and stare at Ela and Reta.
If I had Rhaevor beat them both, they would have died instantly.
I did hate the insult and humiliation of them, but if I had killed them, it would have been a waste of time and energy.
"I need to retrieve my belongings that are still left at home, Ela. You may have taken my house with your manipulation, but there are some things that belong to me. I'm going home to retrieve them, and you have no right to stop me," I said firmly.
"N-no way... n-no way...! Y-you can't go back to that house...! That house is my home...!" Ela forced herself to speak, even though she was still afraid.
"That house is my parents' inheritance! I have the right to it, not you and Reta! I used all my money to maintain that house just so you and Reta could live comfortably, and what did I get in return? You took it all! You kicked me out! You made me lose the job I've built over decades! You're crazy, Ela! You're a true robber!" I exclaimed, losing my patience.
I was almost at the point where I was about to command Rhaevor to beat them both to a pulp. But Leysha immediately hugged me, holding back all my anger that was about to explode.
"A-Atreus... calm down..."
Ah, thankfully Leysha brought me back to my senses.
I took a breath, swallowed all my anger, then let it out with a long sigh.
My sharp gaze was fixed on Ela.
"With my current power, I could easily end your life for all the trouble you've caused me, Ela... but that would be too easy and pleasurable for you. If there was a way I could make your lives miserable slowly but consistently, then I would choose that path, Ela, Reta," I threatened firmly.
Ela and Reta stood in front of me, trembling with fear and pale faces.
Amidst the silence, suddenly, there was the sound of many cars approaching us.
Jeeps, vans, and sports cars with bulletproof windows all in black came and stopped near us.
The plump, smartly dressed man approached and surrounded Ela and Reta.
His cruel gaze was fixed on me, and his gun was ready to be pulled.
I knew this old man, Ela's new husband and Reta's new father.
His name was Dezy.
He's well known in big multi-national corporate, and also a big player in black market.
"Stop threatning my wife and child, you homeless man! Get out of this town!" Dezy shouted loudly.
"I'll leave you after I retrieve my belongings from my house, Dezy," I retorted firmly.
"Your house? That house now belongs to Ela, and legally, you can't take anything from there!"
"Heh… for the sake of the law? You wasted a lot of money on your lawyer just so Ela's slanderous lawsuit could be upheld in front of a judge and result in her taking away my house. You're wrong if you think I'll give in so easily."
"Homeless idiot! What's your point in fighting me?! You don't have the money to take that house!"
"I have other ways…the way that you might not like with... I hope you're prepared for them, Dezy."
I turned around, then grabbed Leysha's hand, and we walked away from them.
"Hey, wait…! You want to steal that house?! That's impossible! I have my own bodyguards and my own army! I'll slaughter you and your new girlfriend!"
I just smiled scornfully at that.
Dezy's initially cruel gaze turned into one of concern when he saw me smile.
Even though I had already called Rhaevor back to keep quiet, Dezy seemed frightened by my intentions.
"Baron Atreus… is it safe to just leave like that? That strange metal... I sense danger from it..." Leysha whispered, pointing at the gun Dezy was still pointing at me.
It was understandable that Leysha was confused by the sight of the gun, as it was a modern weapon unheard of in the magic world.
But amazingly, Leysha could already sense that the gun was indeed dangerous.
"Dezy...! Why did you let Atreus go...! Kill him...! He's a monster...!"
I heard Ela's voice pleading with her new husband in a hysterical tone.
"Y-yes, father...! Kill that monster...! I'm scared...!"
Oh, even Reta, my own daughter, wanted me dead.
Well, it wasn't surprising to me, since my wife and daughter already hated me so much, considering me trash to be thrown away.
At first, I thought Dezy wouldn't shoot me because she was worried it would attract the police.
But I was wrong.
"YOU'RE DEAD...!"
Dezy's hysterical screams rang out briefly, accompanied by the sound of a pistol trigger being pulled.
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
Four shots came flying at me, something I knew I couldn't avoid.
But I had no intention of avoiding them.
Rhaevor appeared instantly, deflecting the four bullets that nearly pierced my back and Leysha's waist.
"W-what...?! The bullets stopped...?!" Dezy was still confused.
Then her face suddenly paled, and her body trembled as she saw Rhaevor's large figure, now so clear and terrifying.
Dezy knelt, completely devoid of strength, utterly terrified.
I could have shouted my orders to Rhaevor to finish off the three people who had ruined my life.
But after seeing Leysha, I knew my duty as Baron Atreus Vermillion is my priority.
Leysha and I left them, preparing to reclaim the home that was rightfully mine.
